Little did they know that Summer Wind's idea actually saved their lives. Not long after lying under the vehicle, they heard footsteps approaching from a distance. Soon after, they saw several pairs of legs wearing military boots—one side sheathed with a Jungle Combat Knife and the other with a multifunctional combat dagger—water dripping down from their pant legs. They recognized their gear and knew these were opponents who had swum over to flank them. They all lay flat on the ground beneath the vehicle without daring to make a sound because even if they opened fire now, there was no guarantee they could eliminate all enemies; bullets would only hit their legs. If their hiding spot was discovered by the enemy, a single grenade could wipe out all ten or so of them.
The intruders seemed unaware whether anyone remained in the car; after glancing at it briefly, they headed towards Xin Yi's rear route. Once those individuals had run several dozen meters away, everyone crawled out from beneath the vehicle—what luck! Those individuals had actually run forward following the car's headlights. After receiving the report, Xin Yi hesitated for a moment before abandoning the idea of continuing the pursuit because he knew Vulture's strength. It wasn't until the sniper on the mountain sent another message via phone that all remaining Vulture members had descended into the river and floated downstream that Xin Yi signaled Beng Hu Lian's brothers to start clearing the scene. They found a total of eleven bodies: two in the rocky area and nine killed by their brothers left behind.
