To achieve a 60% stake in the shares issued by Moha Group through operations in the capital market is essentially an impossible plan. Even if it were realized, it would only make Xin Yi a minor shareholder, which would not significantly influence decision-making. However, this is not the crux of the issue; Xin Yi merely wants to use this as a means to enter or get closer to Moha Group. Once that goal is achieved, other matters can be dealt with flexibly.
Having been cooped up in his room for the past couple of days, Xin Yi decided it was time to get some fresh air. He opened the door and stepped outside, only to find Big Bull standing at the entrance like a massive statue. Upon seeing Xin Yi emerge, Big Bull immediately asked nervously, "Brother Xin, you’re out now?"
"Ah?" Xin Yi was taken aback, realizing that Big Bull had thought he was in seclusion for the past two days. Noticing Big Bull's bloodshot eyes, Xin Yi asked, "Big Bull, have you really been waiting outside my door this whole time?"
"Of course! Since Brother Xin is in seclusion, Big Bull naturally has to protect you. Have you succeeded in your training?" Big Bull said matter-of-factly, his excitement barely concealed as if Xin Yi had truly mastered some extraordinary Kung Fu.
"Well... Big Bull, it's not quite what you think. Actually..."
"Alright, Brother Xin, you don’t need to explain. Big Bull won’t be jealous of your Kung Fu; I just want to ensure your safety. Now, I’m starving and need to find something to eat!" With an understanding expression, Big Bull turned and strode down the stairs to return to the shack he had built in a vacant area downstairs.
Since returning to the farm with Xin Yi, Big Bull had made himself at home. When they first got back, Xin Yi suggested he stay next door in the small wooden building above him. However, Big Bull refused, claiming he snored loudly at night and didn’t want to disturb Xin Yi. Unable to convince him otherwise, Xin Yi relented. The next day, Big Bull cut down some trees on the farm and built a small hut in the space below Xin Yi’s building. Surprisingly enough, despite his rough demeanor, Big Bull managed to construct a quaint little cabin that resembled a rustic retreat. Later on, Xin Yi learned that Big Bull was indeed not being polite; even though their sleeping quarters were more than ten meters apart and in separate spaces, every night when they went to sleep, Xin Yi could still hear Big Bull’s thunderous snores.
Big Bull’s loyalty was truly commendable; while Xin Yi locked himself away for two days to think quietly about various issues, Big Bull had stood guard outside his room for the entire duration. Just as Xin Yi was about to head downstairs to check on Big Bull’s hut, his phone rang. Seeing that it was Shu Rui calling, he quickly answered.
"Xin Yi! Where have you been? I’ve been trying to reach you for two days! Is everything alright?" Shu Rui bombarded him with questions as soon as the call connected.
"What’s going on? Do you need something from me?" Xin Yi asked. "I’ve been at the farm these past couple of days; is there an issue with the project?"
"There is something going on, but it’s not related to any project," Shu Rui replied before pausing and then saying, "Xin Yi, my dad wants to see you."
"What? Your dad wants to see me? Why?" Xin Yi was puzzled; why would Shu Junxing want to meet him?
"Why do you think?" Shu Rui's tone turned slightly annoyed but quickly shifted back to a calm demeanor as she continued: "It’s because of what happened during our last trip to Zhongjiang. My dad heard that you impressed Old Xu and thinks you're quite interesting. He asked me to invite you over for dinner; there’s nothing else."
"Oh, I see! When should I come over? Just let me know your address," Xin Yi said with relief. For some reason, he subconsciously felt a bit apprehensive about meeting Shu Junxing—perhaps because he couldn’t explain the origins of his assets. Facing a seasoned business titan who had built his empire from scratch made it impossible for him to uphold any lies regarding his financial background.
"Right now would be best! Just give me your address and I’ll come pick you up," Shu Rui said. "I’ve been looking for you for two days and couldn’t ask anyone else."
After telling Shu Rui his address, Xin Yi said a few words to Big Bull and waited outside the gate of the Farm. About twenty minutes later, Shu Rui's red Lamborghini stopped beside him.
"That was quick," Xin Yi said as he opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat. "I didn't bring any gifts to meet your father."
Shu Rui playfully glared at Xin Yi and handed him an antique wooden box from the back seat. "I prepared this for you a long time ago. My dad has recently taken a liking to calligraphy, so this is a piece of Duanyan. Consider it a gift for him; he will definitely be very happy."
"Heh, you really thought this through. Thank you," Xin Yi said sincerely.
"What are you thanking me for? Since it's for my dad, it becomes part of our family things; you're just passing it along," Shu Rui replied with a smile.
The car wound its way into an older residential area. Such neighborhoods were quite common in Longchuan, where ordinary citizens of Longchuan City typically lived. Noticing Xin Yi's puzzled expression, Shu Rui explained, "This house was bought by my parents when they got married. They've always lived here, and I grew up here too. They haven't moved because they have feelings for this place."
"I can see it's not just about the house. If I'm not mistaken, your parents must have a very good relationship; this house is a testament to their love back then, which is why they can't bear to leave," Xin Yi analyzed, surprised that a business tycoon worth billions would live in such an ordinary neighborhood.
"I didn't know you understood relationships so well. If it were you, would you do the same?" Shu Rui asked, turning to look at Xin Yi with his beautiful eyes.
"Heh, I don't know."
After parking the car, Shu Rui led Xin Yi up the stairs to the fifth floor. The houses in this neighborhood were indeed very ordinary—so ordinary that there was no elevator. When they reached a door, Shu Rui carefully adjusted Xin Yi's clothes before ringing the doorbell. As soon as the doorbell rang, the door opened to reveal a woman in her forties standing at the entrance with a warm smile directed at Xin Yi. One could faintly see Shu Rui's resemblance in her features; if she were twenty years younger, her beauty might not pale in comparison to his. Shu Rui took her arm affectionately and introduced her in a gentle manner: "Mom, this is Xin Yi... Xin Yi, this is my mom."
"Hello, Auntie," Xin Yi said politely with a slight bow.
"Is it Little Xin? I hope you don't mind me calling you that. My surname is Lu; just call me Aunt Lu," Aunt Lu said with a smile as she appraised Xin Yi from head to toe and stepped aside to let him enter. She called into the kitchen, "Old Shu, Xiaorui's friend has arrived!"
"Coming." A deep male voice responded as a man wearing an apron walked out of the kitchen with wet hands, evidently having been washing vegetables. This man was Shu Junxing, the creator of Binhai's business legend. He appeared significantly older than his wife and looked to be in his fifties. Despite showing signs of age, he radiated vitality and energy as if he had boundless strength. The first impression he gave was one of reassurance—a feeling that came from those who interacted with him. To be honest, Shu Junxing's appearance was quite ordinary; he was the kind of person whose face you would forget after meeting twice. However, it was precisely because of his unremarkable face that exuded innate confidence and sincerity that made one feel if they couldn't trust him, they might not find anyone trustworthy at all. Perhaps it was this quality that laid the foundation for his connections in the business world.
While Xin Yi was observing Shu Junxing, the latter was also sizing him up. Unlike Xin Yi's casual gaze, Shu Junxing's eyes were sharp and penetrating as if he could see through one's thoughts. Anyone harboring ill intentions would surely feel exposed under his scrutiny. For an average young person, such intense gaze might be intimidating; however, given who Xin Yi was—even someone like Zang Tian, who possessed both wealth and power—could be overwhelmed by his presence. In comparison, Shu Junxing seemed slightly less imposing. With his usual calm demeanor, Xin Yi smiled back at Shu Junxing and nodded, saying, "Hello Uncle, I'm Xin Yi. This is a gift from Shu Rui for you." He naturally extended the box he held out towards him.
Shu Rui shot a fierce glance at Xin Yi after hearing those words. This person was indeed straightforward; when asked to share, he really revealed everything. Shu Junxing didn't mind and casually placed the box on the table beside him. Aunt Lu gave Shu Rui a meaningful smile and leaned closer to her ear, saying, "That little ghost knows how to flatter your dad. Why haven't you bought anything for your mom?"
"Mom, you don't need gifts! Am I not the best gift?" Shu Rui said, shaking her mother's arm with a flushed face.
"Then does that mean you need to give your dad a gift? I think someone has ulterior motives," Aunt Lu teased with a smile.
"Mom, why do you say that? If you keep talking like this, I'm not going to pay attention to you!" Shu Rui's face turned even redder as she stubbornly leaned her head on Aunt Lu's shoulder.
"Hello, Xin Yi, welcome to my home. I wonder if you'll be able to get used to such a small place?" Shu Junxing said as he extended his hand to shake hands with Xin Yi.
"Uncle, you're too polite. I live in a small wooden house myself. Besides, what matters in a home isn't the house itself. I think your home is very warm; that's what truly gives it the feeling of home," Xin Yi replied sincerely. This was indeed how Xin Yi felt; while Xin Manor was quite large, after living there for sixteen years, he never felt the warmth of home. After moving to the Farm and being alone, the feeling of home became more important than anything else.
"Hehe, little Xin really knows how to speak. Old Shu, why don't you chat with little Xin while I go prepare dinner?" Aunt Lu said happily in response to Xin Yi's answer.
"Alright, I'll chat with Xin Yi," Shu Junxing said as he took off his apron and handed it to his wife, saying, "The vegetables in the kitchen are all washed."
Aunt Lu tied on her apron and headed toward the kitchen. Shu Rui glanced at Shu Junxing and Xin Yi and said, "I'll go help." With that, she dashed into the kitchen.
