After a peaceful night's sleep, He Dafu woke up early the next morning, feeling refreshed. Looking at the charming girl sleeping beside him, He Dafu suddenly felt a surge of desire. This time, he didn't even take any medicine and eagerly engaged with her. In the end, even the girl, who usually couldn't be satisfied, begged for mercy before He Dafu reluctantly ended their encounter. His teaware had to be made of precious purple clay. So, despite being just a simple cup of tea, it represented money, taste, and status! Finally, he had to take a deep breath and exclaimed passionately, "Damn it!"
Just as He Dafu stood behind the Eighteenth Floor's floor-to-ceiling window looking down with pride and confidence, the office door suddenly swung open. Without turning around, He Dafu irritably said, "Xiao Li, how can you be so disrespectful?! Have you forgotten to knock?"
"He Dafu, we are from the Longchuan City Public Security Bureau Criminal Police Team. You are suspected of involvement in two murder cases and need to come with us for questioning!" The voice coming from the doorway was not Xiao Li's gentle tone but that of a stern man.
"What?" He Dafu turned around in surprise to see Wang Wei, the captain of the Criminal Police Team standing at the door. Hadn't he already settled matters regarding A Fang? What was going on now? An ominous feeling quickly spread throughout his body—could it be?
He Dafu's hand holding the teacup trembled slightly, spilling some tea from the precious purple clay cup without him noticing. "I want to call my lawyer!" He Dafu said.
"You can have someone downstairs notify them; right now, you must come with us immediately!" Wang Wei's cold voice rang out again.
"Fine, I'll go with you. But... could you not put handcuffs on me? After all, I am still a representative of Longchuan and a member of the Political Consultative Committee," He Dafu replied.
"We can avoid handcuffing you; let's go!"
A group escorted the dejected He Dafu out of Solomon Grand Hotel. Just before getting into the car, He Dafu looked back at this iconic building of Longchuan and silently thought: "Goodbye to my properties, goodbye to my office, goodbye to my spring water brewed Longjing tea..."
He Dafu knew that if the police did not have solid evidence against him, they would never dare to act because he was not only a famous entrepreneur but also a representative of Longchuan City People's Representative and a member of the Political Consultative Committee. Additionally, he was Qiao Qiang's brother-in-law—the Provincial Party Secretary—these intimidating identities made most people hesitate to touch him lightly. In the office of the Deputy Director of the Longchuan City Public Security Bureau, Lu Jianming shook hands tightly with a tall, slender young man.

This young man was Xin Yi, who had been brought in due to the murder case of Fan Zhesi. Logically, he should have been waiting for sentencing in a detention center; how could a murder suspect be shaking hands and chatting amicably with the esteemed Deputy Director Lu in his office?
To understand this, we must go back to when Xin Yi was first detained. On the day Xin Yi was arrested, Lu Jianming personally interrogated him because he believed that the murder of Fan Zhesi was far more complicated than it appeared. After several incidents, they found a pattern: A Bao's group must have colluded with someone inside the police force. This led to a dramatic incident at Bauhinia Night Club that successfully exposed Jiang Maosheng's disguise. Although there were no further organizational repercussions for him, it eliminated a threat from within the police force.
Regarding Lufei, Xin Yi initially did not want to eliminate him entirely; however, since he provided drugs to A Bao's group for framing Three Tiger Group, he had to pay a price as well—especially since drugs are indeed harmful to society. By borrowing Lufei's drugs and giving them to A Bao's group, Lu Jianming did not intervene; he understood these individuals were not innocent and framing Three Tiger Group with drugs amounted to drug trafficking itself.
After several successive blows against their enemies, both Lu Jianming and Xin Yi keenly sensed that the true murderer of Fan Zhesi would soon lose patience. His only target would be eliminating eyewitness A Fang to silence her. Thus, their protection plan for A Fang involved an outer layer of apparent security while maintaining tight internal protection: on the surface only four officers rotated in guarding her while an armed team of special police had already been arranged in her guesthouse along with several capable brothers from Beng Hu Lian. The purpose of this arrangement was to make A Fang aware that whoever orchestrated Fan Zhesi's murder would not spare her; they intended to kill her to silence her so she would actively cooperate with law enforcement and reveal who was behind it all.
When chaos erupted in the guesthouse, two officers assigned to protect A Fang were drawn away according to plan. At that moment, two assassins seized their chance and entered A Fang's room. Just as they were about to succeed in their mission, ambushing special police and brothers from Beng Hu Lian rushed in and effortlessly captured both men alive. However, in order to mislead their unseen enemies about what had transpired next door, they deliberately staged a series of events suggesting that A Fang had already been killed—this was meant to keep their enemies calm until they gathered sufficient evidence before making their final move.
Indeed, A Fang soon revealed the entire truth: He Dafu had sent people after her to silence her; there was no longer any reason for her to protect him. The two assassins quickly confessed as well; they initially intended their confession as a cover for previous crimes but how could such tricks succeed against astute Detective Lu? Upon investigation, both men were found linked to previous murders—unexpectedly hitting a jackpot—and Lu Jianming felt delighted.
The final result of the investigation revealed that the mastermind behind it all was He Dafu. Lu Jianming felt a surge of joy; after so many years, the competition between him and He Dafu had finally ended with justice prevailing. As for He Dafu's various identities and his protective umbrella, Lu Jianming did not concern himself with them. Everyone knew he was a tough man who did not fear power and would handle things as they should be.
Regarding Josen, Lu Jianming was unaware because everything seemed unrelated to him. However, Xin Yi knew that he was actually the final mastermind. He Dafu did not want to implicate his nephew, and A Bao was also a tough guy who would rather die than admit that someone was pulling the strings behind him. Therefore, Xin Yi found himself at a loss; it seemed that dealing with Josen would require some effort.
The two shook hands for a long time before parting ways. As the saying goes, heroes appreciate heroes. From this collaboration, both felt that the other was extraordinary, especially Lu Jianming. Although it appeared that he was in control of this operation, many aspects were actually being handled by Xin Yi and his Beng Hu Lian, with the police merely cooperating.
"When you have time, come over to my house for dinner!" Lu Jianming said as Xin Yi was about to walk out of the office.
"Sure! I will definitely come!" Xin Yi waved goodbye to Lu Jianming.
"This young man is no ordinary person," Lu Jianming thought to himself as he watched Xin Yi's departing figure.
