Qin Dali is an orphan who grew up in an orphanage in A City. From a young age, Qin Dali had a fierce spirit and often led the other children in fights. Because of this, the aunt at the orphanage worried about him more than the other kids. Since he was always getting into trouble, Aunt Sun paid special attention to him. Through observation and understanding, Aunt Sun learned that Qin Dali's penchant for trouble stemmed from his sensitivity to being bullied. The children in the orphanage were already more sensitive than average kids, and many people in society not only failed to care for these unfortunate children but also discriminated against them, often using derogatory terms like "wild child" or "poorly raised by parents who died early." Qin Dali could not tolerate such insults; as soon as he found out who was bullying the children at the orphanage, he would immediately confront them, regardless of who they were.
Over time, Qin Dali naturally became the leader among the children, who all looked up to him. Although he was tough on those who bullied them, he was actually kind-hearted and helpful. Aunt Sun noticed this and often sighed over his circumstances, thinking that if he had been born into a normal family, he would surely achieve great things in the future. Therefore, she treated Qin Dali very well, almost as if he were her own child. Aunt Sun herself had a difficult life; her unfaithful husband left her and their young daughter for someone else. She could only devote all her energy to caring for the children at the orphanage and even moved her home there. As a result, Qin Dali grew up alongside Aunt Sun's daughter, Fang Yu, making them childhood sweethearts. Aunt Sun felt comforted knowing Qin Dali's character; if he could become her son-in-law, she would have someone to support her in her old age.
Later, Qin Dali enlisted in the military and passed various assessments to join the Wolf Warriors Special Forces. Fang Yu blossomed into a beautiful young woman during this time. The two maintained a romantic relationship with constant exchanges of affection. Aunt Sun considered hastening their union to fulfill her own wish. Unable to resist Aunt Sun's repeated urging and because both of them were eager to marry, Qin Dali secretly married Fang Yu during a family visit, disregarding military discipline.
Two months later, Fang Yu wrote to say she was pregnant, which made Qin Dali so happy that he wanted to share the news with the world. However, remembering that they had married in secret against military rules, he kept it to himself and enjoyed his happiness alone. He could not return home even when their daughter was born.
However, their happiness did not last long before tragedy struck. A childhood friend from the orphanage, Ding Ming, sent an urgent telegram informing Qin Dali that Fang Yu had committed suicide by jumping from a building and that Aunt Sun had died from shock upon hearing the news. When Qin Dali received the telegram, he was stunned and could hardly believe it. By the time he regained his senses, he felt a tightness in his chest and coughed up blood before frantically rushing to the military command center.
The Chief of his unit listened to Qin Dali's account and immediately approved his leave request. When Qin Dali returned to A City, he found only two black urns and his three-month-old daughter still in swaddling clothes. He fainted at the sight and remained unconscious for three days and nights while friends from the orphanage handled Aunt Sun's and Fang Yu's funerals.
When Qin Dali woke up, he acted like a madman as he rushed toward the mourning hall only to find it had been dismantled; Aunt Sun and Fang Yu had already been laid to rest. He grabbed anyone nearby to ask where they were buried until Ding Ming finally took him to their gravesite. Kneeling before their graves, Qin Dali wailed and raged until he fainted again and was carried back home.
Ding Ming and his wife took care of Qin Dali and his three-month-old child during this time. When Qin Dali woke up again, he no longer acted irrationally but calmly asked what had happened.
It turned out that Fang Yu had been working in an administrative position at a private company after finishing her maternity leave when she caught the eye of the company's boss. Just a few days after returning to work, that unscrupulous boss kept her late under the pretense of overtime and assaulted her in the office. The boss thought Fang Yu was just an ordinary woman who had given birth; he believed that giving her some money or promoting her afterward would resolve everything. However, Fang Yu was a strong-willed woman who could not bear such humiliation; before the boss could leave the office, she jumped out of the window.
Aunt Sun naturally cried uncontrollably upon hearing this news. When she saw her daughter's mangled body in the hospital morgue, she suffered a heart attack from grief and could not be saved.
Due to this incident resulting in death, the company boss used many connections but ultimately could not escape punishment and ended up imprisoned. After listening calmly to all this, Qin Dali suddenly stood up straight and knelt before Ding Ming and his wife. They were shocked and hurried to help him up, but Qin Dali refused to rise and simply asked for one favor.
Ding Ming had always received care from Qin Dali since childhood; thus, he readily agreed—whether it was one favor or ten or even a hundred—he would certainly comply as long as it was within his power.
Qin Dali knocked his head three times and then said, "Ding Ming, sister-in-law, I only ask you to take care of the child for me."
Ding Ming was shocked. He understood Qin Dali's character; if he said this, he would definitely do something foolish. However, there was nothing he could do to stop him. He could only keep advising Qin Dali not to do anything stupid, but Qin Dali ignored him completely. He just held his daughter close, kissed her repeatedly, tears streaming down his face onto her, and finally murmured, "Your mother asked me to name you. I haven't thought of a good name until now. Let's call you Qin Siyu. Si Yu, be good. Daddy will come to pick you up." After saying that, he put down his daughter and left without looking back. Little Siyu seemed to sense the sadness of parting and began to cry loudly.
The next day, Qin Dali was arrested for intentional injury. He charged into a private enterprise and beat up more than a dozen security guards while muttering, "Security, who can guarantee whose safety..." The security guards were no match for Qin Dali, and within minutes they were sprawled all over the floor. After the fight, Qin Dali quietly sat in the security room waiting for the police to arrive.
At the moment he was pushed into the police car, Qin Dali smiled. He openly confessed to his intentional injury charges. This incident also alarmed the military; they valued Qin Dali as a talent and wanted to use their connections to help him out. However, Qin Dali refused their help and admitted to everything as if he were afraid they wouldn't convict him. In the end, the military had no choice but to watch as their top warrior from the Wolf Warriors Special Forces was sent to detention.
Once inside the detention center, Qin Dali realized he had miscalculated. He had originally planned to find an opportunity in detention to deal with the person who had caused his family's downfall, but upon inquiry, he learned that this person had been released on medical grounds after only a few days in detention. Hearing this news left Qin Dali dumbfounded; not only had his plan failed, but he also ended up spending a year in prison. What made him regret even more was that even if he got out, he could never return to the Wolf Warriors Special Forces, which had given him endless hope.
Qin Dali began to grow irritable. Fights among inmates were commonplace, so over the course of a year, he used his iron fists to carve out a territory for himself; no matter how tough a character was, they could only submit under his fists.
Prisons are often gathering places for gang members; people come and go. However, those who leave always spread word about the iron-fisted leader inside. So although Qin Dali spent a year in prison, his reputation echoed throughout all of A City.
On the day of his release, besides Ding Ming and his wife holding their now over one-year-old daughter Little Siyu, several factions from A City also showed up hoping to recruit this legendary iron-fisted leader. However, Qin Dali did not agree; he simply held Little Siyu and took a bus home with Ding Ming and his wife.
After being released from prison, Qin Dali sought information about the whereabouts of the person responsible for Fang Yu's death. That person was named Huang Dafa, a well-known entrepreneur in A City. Although he was sentenced after the incident involving Fang Yu, he used his extensive connections and wealth to secure medical release shortly thereafter. Once released and back in action, it was essentially like being exonerated; law enforcement imposed no monitoring measures on him, and Huang Dafa continued living life with vigor.
Underneath Huang Dafa, there were also many individuals with gang affiliations who handled matters that couldn't be resolved openly. Naturally, some of these individuals ended up getting caught. Later on, those who came out brought shocking news: that the iron-fisted Qin Dali, who had fought through prison with his fists, was actually the husband of Fang Yu, who had been mistreated and committed suicide by jumping off a building. It seemed that entering prison had been a deliberate move by him to kill himself; this revelation sent chills down Huang Dafa's spine. He secretly thanked his lucky stars for having used connections to get out; otherwise, he might have been killed by Qin Dali in prison.
However, what scared Huang Dafa even more was that Qin Dali had only received a one-year sentence and would soon be released. With his hatred for having lost both wife and life at stake, it wouldn't be long before his skills would allow him to devour him alive! Thus, this scoundrel hurriedly arranged his assets and secretly fled out of town while directing operations remotely via phone—planning to hide for a while.
Qin Dali tracked down both Huang Dafa's company and home; he even visited both of Huang Dafa's mistresses but found nothing. Watching as Huang Dafa's wife and mistresses trembled before him, Qin Dali did not make things difficult for them—he wasn't like Huang Dafa, capable of such despicable acts. Left with no options, he could only wander around the streets of A City, hoping that one day he would find traces of Huang Dafa, seeking revenge for both Fang Yu and Aunt Sun.
For several months, he drifted along without any income, relying entirely on the support of the Ding Ming couple. Fortunately, the Ding Mings were kind-hearted people and bore no resentment. However, every time he saw Little Siyu's innocent eyes and heard her softly call him "Daddy," his heart ached. He felt guilty towards his daughter; she was still so young. Did he really want her to grow up filled with hatred like himself?
Countless sleepless nights passed as he wept and prayed for Fang Yu and Aunt Sun's forgiveness. As a man, how could he fail to protect his wife and elders? What was the point of living? Yet, for Little Siyu's sake, he couldn't abandon everything to reunite with them. Moreover, that scoundrel Huang Dafa was still alive. He hadn't been able to kill him, and even in death, he would have no face to see them again.
In the end, Qin Dali decided to take Little Siyu away from this place of sorrow, hoping she could grow up in a healthy environment. Revenge could wait; as long as he was alive, he would ensure that vengeance would be served. Thus began Qin Dali's journey in Longchuan.
