Li Nan inquired about the figure behind the door, but for a moment, it seemed the other person did not want to respond.
Due to the differing light intensity inside and outside the blood bank, Li Nan could not clearly see the person's appearance. However, based on the general outline, it appeared to be a man!

A trembling voice replied, "Who are you?"
Li Nan did not want to cause unnecessary trouble, so he took the initiative to answer, "My name is Li Nan, I am an Intern Doctor from this year's Pharmacy Department. There are Zombies in the hospital, and my... friend is injured and needs help, which is why I came here!"
Upon hearing Li Nan's explanation, the person frowned slightly. "You came in from outside the hospital?"
Li Nan shook his head, but the person behind the door skeptically said, "Impossible. Everyone in the hospital has been attacked by those Ghosts. There can't be any living people left!"
Li Nan wanted to retort that he was also alive, but given the urgency of the situation, now was not the time for jokes. So he said, "There was a team from the People's Liberation Army that went down to the underground Morgue. We are part of that group, so while there are Zombies in the hospital, we did not encounter any issues!"
The person sighed deeply. "Those Ghosts are terrifying; they are truly terrifying!"
Seeing that the other person's emotions were becoming agitated, Li Nan worried that he might close the blood bank door again. If that happened, it would indeed be a missed opportunity.
Li Nan tentatively moved closer and said, "My friend is currently on the seventh floor and has lost over 5000cc of blood. He urgently needs a transfusion. If you don't mind, could you please let me in?"
The person was momentarily speechless and after about ten seconds finally said, "You mentioned your group; can you all get out?"
Now Li Nan wanted to reassure him and could only promise, "Perhaps there is a way to escape!"
The tension on the person's face suddenly relaxed as if he had just won five million in a lottery. He joyfully exclaimed, "Finally able to get out! I won't have to worry about those Ghosts anymore!"
Li Nan discovered a door and continued, "We already have a preliminary strategic deployment. Including you, there are a total of ten people. It might be possible to get out of Jiangbei Hospital!"
The person's expression suddenly became tense again. "We can't get out, absolutely can't! The guard forces outside won't let us leave at all!"
It seemed this person had been too frightened, causing his mind to be somewhat disordered and dazed. Therefore, Li Nan was genuinely hesitant to trust him. After slowly approaching, he suddenly hugged the other person and said, "Please don't be agitated. Trust me and my friends; we will definitely get you out safely!"
Upon getting closer, Li Nan realized the person's face looked somewhat familiar. After recalling for a while, Li Nan happily shouted, "Old Tian, it's me! I'm Li Nan!"
The person referred to as Old Tian was suddenly taken aback, his emotions extremely agitated. Clearly, he hadn't heard what Li Nan said. Li Nan couldn't help but think more about it and immediately slapped him across the face, asking, "Are you awake now?"
The slap was quite forceful, nearly knocking out one of Old Tian's molars.
Li Nan wasn't very good at controlling his strength; he just wanted the other person to regain consciousness without intending to hit too hard.
Old Tian shook his head, his dazed eyes slowly focusing. When he noticed there was another person beside him—a living person—he suddenly welled up with tears and exclaimed, "How is it you? Aren't you dead?"
"I'm tough; it's not that easy to die!" Li Nan felt happy seeing the other regain awareness.
Old Tian's full name was Tian Xiaoguang. He was Li Nan's senior. By the time Li Nan graduated, he had already been working at Jiangbei Hospital for two years. However, they still shared a bond from school and continued their friendship while working in the same place. Now that old friends were reunited, it almost brought tears to their eyes!
Li Nan asked in surprise, "It seems like you weren't on duty tonight. How did you end up in the hospital?"
Old Tian covered his cheek with a distressed look. "Don't mention it; I can't blame society for my bad luck. I was supposed to be off tonight, but a colleague ran into some trouble and asked me to cover for him. I didn't expect to step into the gates of hell!"
Old Tian continued with lingering fear, "Do you know what happened in the hospital?"
Li Nan shook his head; he really didn't know much about what was happening in Jiangbei Hospital. Mo Xiaohui hadn't provided any useful information.
Old Tian grabbed Li Nan and tried to pull him toward the blood bank but then saw several zombie corpses lying at the entrance of the blood bank and exclaimed in shock, "Did you do all this?"
"If I didn't kill them, I would have become food for them—there's no other way!"
Old Tian gave a thumbs up, "Impressive, but this isn't the place to talk. I don't even know if there are any Ghosts here; hiding inside would be much safer!"
"I need Li Nan, at least 5000cc of Hr Negative Blood, for emergency use!" Li Nan said anxiously.
Old Tian grabbed Li Nan's arm tightly, "Li Nan, there's plenty of it here; we can look for some. But I remember when you were in college, you struggled to carry a bucket of water. How did you become so strong now?"
Li Nan chuckled, "It's the potential of the human body! If the National Football Team doesn't qualify, all the players will be executed. I estimate that Chinese Football could still break out of Asia!"
Old Tian laughed as well and then recalled what had happened that night.
"About an hour after your team went down to the Underground Morgue, the military guarding outside seemed to receive some orders and rushed into the hospital with their guns. Just when everyone was in chaos, dozens of blood-soaked people charged out from somewhere. They were both men and women, all with their mouths wide open, biting anyone they encountered and pouncing on anything that moved. Within just a few seconds, most of the people in the hospital were devoured, just like in a Zombie movie..."
Li Nan reluctantly interrupted Old Tian, "Those things are Zombies; they are real Zombies!"
Old Tian was not surprised and continued, "Those Ghosts... those Zombies were frenzied and completely unstoppable. The armed soldiers who rushed into the hospital immediately retreated, sealing the doors tightly and not allowing anyone or anything to escape. Those soldiers who were slower to retreat were also devoured by the Zombies..."
Old Tian looked sorrowful and somewhat helpless, "Everyone died; only I managed to escape here and save my life!"
