In a secluded cave, Aotian and Aoyan sat against the wall.
Aotian occasionally glanced outside the cave, clearly worried about being followed by a Night Demon.
However, this concern dissipated after half an hour of calm.
"Sister Yan, Sister Yan, how are you?" Aotian asked softly.
Aoyan slightly opened her eyes, revealing endless fatigue as she said, "I'm fine. I just need to rest for a while. You should quickly absorb the energy from those Night Crystals and strive to break through to the Innate Realm."
Aotian nodded and then touched his finger to the Storage Ring. Suddenly, a chicken egg-sized Night Crystal appeared in his hand.
"Sister Yan, this Innate Realm Night Demon's Night Crystal is for you. You should also try to recover soon."
Aoyan was momentarily taken aback; she wanted to refuse but reluctantly accepted the Night Crystal after seeing the determined look on the boy's face.
Seeing Aoyan take the Night Crystal, Aotian felt a slight sense of relief.
Although he didn't know how severe Sister Yan's injuries were, the energy contained in this Night Crystal was immense and should be enough for her recovery.
With that thought, Aotian sat down beside her, closing his eyes slightly as if resting, but in reality, he was conversing with Yan.
"Master, didn't you say you would tell me how to become a Soul Practitioner once I entered the Eternal Night Forbidden Zone?" Clearly, Aotian still had not forgotten about becoming a Soul Practitioner.
Yan fell silent for a moment and said:
"Aotian, are you sure you want to become a Soul Practitioner? You need to understand that while Soul Practitioners are not weaker than warriors, their training is extremely difficult!" There was a rare hesitation in Yan's tone.
"Teacher, I'm not afraid! As long as I can save my mother, I will endure any hardship!" Aotian's voice was filled with determination.
Yan sighed and said, "If you can truly cultivate both soul and martial arts, then saving your mother may not be an impossible task."
Aotian remained silent, simply listening quietly.
"Alright! Since you are so determined, why shouldn't I support you?!"
Upon hearing Yan's words, Aotian's face lit up with joy.
Aotian did not know how terrifying the family where his mother was located truly was, but from his teacher's hints, it could be inferred that it was undoubtedly one of the renowned dominant clans in the Dragon God World. If he wanted to rescue his mother, he needed to have the strength to make that dominant clan take him seriously; otherwise, saving her would be as difficult as ascending to the heavens.
In the Dragon God World, cultivating both soul and martial arts was an extremely rare occurrence. If he could achieve Soul and Martial Dual Cultivation and reach the pinnacle in both, then the dominant clan where his mother belonged would have no choice but to bow down to him.
With this thought in mind, Aotian's resolve to cultivate both soul and martial arts grew even stronger.
"To become a Soul Practitioner, you must first open up the Second Brain Sea!" Yan's tone revealed a sense of gravity.
"Second Brain Sea?" Aotian found this term to be unfamiliar.
"Yes, the human brain possesses infinite potential, and the Soul Practitioner relies on Soul Power to open up a new Mind within the brain, which is referred to as the Second Brain Sea. It exists attached to your Mind. Once your Mind is damaged, it will collapse as well."
"What is the use of this Second Brain Sea?" Aotian asked curiously.
"The Mystical Energy of a martial artist is stored in the Dantian, while the Soul Power of a Soul Practitioner is stored in the Second Brain Sea!"
Upon hearing Yan's words, Aotian felt as if a fog had lifted, and he suddenly understood what he had previously found confusing.
Aotian slowly exhaled a breath of white mist and asked, "Master, how do I open the Second Brain Sea?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Yan's ethereal form appeared before Aotian. The once imposing face now bore a serious expression.
"I will teach you how to open the Second Brain Sea shortly, but before that, you must understand that once you begin this process, failure means death!"
"What do you mean?" Aotian asked, puzzled.
"When the time comes, you must channel your Soul Power into your Mind, and you will need to rely on this Soul Power to tear open the Second Brain Sea within your Mind. If you cannot tear it open, then the Soul Power you have channeled into your Mind will never return to your soul. Your Mind will be shattered by this Soul Power, ultimately leaving you as a thoughtless idiot!"
Hearing Yan's words made Aotian's hand tremble slightly; after all, what Yan said was quite serious.
"This is just the first hurdle!" Yan's voice echoed again.
At that moment, Aotian felt like cursing. If this was just the first hurdle, how terrifying could the second one be?
Thinking this way, Aotian seemed to understand why Soul Practitioners were considered "rare beings" in the Dragon God World.
"When your Soul Power enters the Second Brain Sea, you must also pull your soul into the Second Brain Sea within half an hour. Otherwise, your Soul Power will lose its connection with your soul, and you are very likely to be lost forever!"
Aotian's expression immediately darkened.
Being lost forever was undoubtedly the most terrifying thing in the Dragon God World.
Some warriors may have their heads severed or hearts crushed, but as long as their souls are strong, they can still survive independently of their physical bodies. For example, Yan belonged to this category.
However, being lost forever meant true annihilation; survival was absolutely impossible! Therefore, upon hearing Yan's words, Aotian appeared somewhat hesitant.
Yan did not urge him but quietly waited. He understood the seriousness of the matter and did not pressure Aotian to become a Soul Practitioner.
"Well, fortune favors the bold. The path of cultivation cannot be smooth sailing. If one is overly cautious, how can they achieve great things? So, teacher, I have made my decision! I want to become a Soul Practitioner!" The boy's voice was filled with undeniable determination!
A smile of relief appeared on Yan's face as he nodded and said:
"Good! In that case, you should first absorb and refine the energy from the Night Crystal. The energy in the Night Crystal will help you open up the Second Brain Sea."
Upon hearing this, Aotian's face lit up with joy. Becoming a Soul Practitioner had been Aotian's biggest headache, and now he learned that the energy from the Night Crystal could actually assist him in opening up the Second Brain Sea. This unexpected surprise felt like a pie falling from the sky.
Without further ado, Aotian took out a thumb-sized Night Crystal from his Storage Ring and directly swallowed it.
As the Night Crystal entered his mouth, it transformed into a strange black energy. Wherever this energy passed through, Aotian felt as if his blood was being drained dry.
In response, Aotian remained calm, his eyes tightly closed as he sat cross-legged. His hands continuously transformed into various hand seals.
Suddenly, the Transformation Technique surged from Aotian's Dantian, resembling a vast golden net that enveloped the strange dark energy layer by layer.
The Golden Net seemed to contain some profound and extraordinary energy. When the dark energy touched the Golden Net, it transformed into pure energy that flowed into the Golden Net, causing its color to shine even brighter. A rune filled with an ancient aura flickered in and out of visibility at the center of the Golden Net.
Aotian felt immense joy; he could sense that the Transformation Technique was growing at a slow pace. At this rate, breaking through to the Eighth Layer of Postnatal might not be far off...
With a final hiss, when the last trace of dark energy merged into the Golden Net, it transformed back into a fist-sized Golden Energy.
At this moment, the Transformation Technique carried a faint ancient aura that was not very pronounced, almost like an illusion.
Just as the Transformation Technique returned to Aotian's Dantian, a surge of black energy erupted from it, rushing toward Aotian's soul...
