The Eternal Night Forbidden Zone stretches like a massive spear across countless regions, and the Wasteland in the western part of Fengyun Nation is one of its entrances.
Early in the morning, Aotian left Aojia without disturbing anyone.
However, a beautiful girl followed closely beside Aotian. Dressed in a pale yellow gown with a snow-white waist belt, her phoenix-like eyes and fair, radiant skin complemented her ethereal aura, causing the surrounding warriors to frequently glance back in astonishment.
This beautiful girl was none other than Aoyan.
After learning that Aotian was going out for training, Aoyan hurriedly followed him.
Aotian was quite supportive of this decision since Aoyan possessed Innate Fivefold cultivation. With her by his side, Aotian felt much more at ease.
Initially, Aotian was strongly opposed to Aoyan coming along, but after a few words from his teacher, his reluctance turned into acceptance:
"Let her follow you. You might need her help once you enter the Eternal Night Forbidden Zone."
Thus, Aotian found himself with an additional "tail."
"Aotian, didn't you say you were only going to train near Ning City? We're almost at Source City!" Aoyan said with a puzzled expression.
Aotian hesitated for a moment before deciding to tell Aoyan the truth. Since he would have to explain eventually, he might as well do it openly now:
"Sister Yan, actually I plan to go to the Eternal Night Forbidden Zone this time because..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Aoyan interrupted him urgently:
"What? The Eternal Night Forbidden Zone?! Do you know what kind of place that is? No way, you need to turn back with me right now!"
Saying this, Aoyan grabbed Aotian's wrist, trying to pull him back to Aojia.
However, Aotian's right hand slipped away like a slippery loach, instantly breaking free from Aoyan's grasp. He took a sudden step back and said,
"I'm sorry, Sister Yan, but I must go to the Eternal Night Forbidden Zone! If you think it's dangerous, then you should go back and not follow me."
"You..." Aoyan stamped her foot in frustration but felt helpless.
She knew that once Aotian had made up his mind, even the Nine-headed Bull couldn't bring him back.
Although she could easily "bring" Aotian back with her strength, she knew that with his personality, he would only spend his days thinking about escaping from Aojia to the Eternal Night Forbidden Zone. What she would do would only be a temporary solution.
Thinking this over, Aoyan gritted her silver teeth and said,
"Fine, go if you must, but once we enter the Eternal Night Forbidden Zone, you have to listen to me!"
The smile at the corner of Aotian's mouth faded quickly.
Suddenly, a strange cry from a middle-aged man rang out:
"Ha ha, I see you two aren't going anywhere; you'd better obediently report to Underworld Road!"
The two turned around abruptly and saw four figures appearing before them like ghosts.
Among these four, three were middle-aged men around thirty years old, dressed in black robes and bearing some resemblance to each other. The fourth was a young man in his twenties holding a dagger that glimmered with a chilling light.
"Who are you?" Aotian asked in a low voice, watching the four uninvited guests warily.
"Hehe, kid, I wonder if you've ever heard of the Shadow Adventure Team?" One of the men, a middle-aged man in his thirties, stepped forward with a strange grin.
Upon hearing this, Aotian's heart sank slightly, and his expression turned somewhat grim.
The Shadow Adventure Team was quite famous in Ning City, consisting of four members. The leader was the middle-aged man speaking before him.
This middle-aged man had two younger brothers, and all three had reached the first level of the Innate realm. What made them even more formidable was that they had received the legacy of a senior in their early years, mastering a combined attack formation that made their overall strength comparable to that of experts at the Innate Fivefold level.
Additionally, the young man accompanying them was also a strong Postnatal Nine Levels expert, making the situation extremely unfavorable for Aotian!
Aoyan took a small step forward, cleverly shielding Aotian behind her as she stared at the four men. Liu Mei frowned tightly and said, "May I ask what business the Shadow Adventure Team has in stopping us?"
At that moment, the young man holding a dagger stepped forward, his lewd gaze fixed on Aoyan's delicate figure. "Someone has offered a high price for your heads. However, considering you have some beauty, if you join our Shadow Adventure Team, I can plead with the captain to spare your life."
"Hehe, that's right. But that boy beside you must die!" The middle-aged man in front laughed sinisterly.
Aoyan's face turned pale upon hearing this, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she gritted her teeth and said, "Aotian, leave the three middle-aged men from the Shadow Adventure Team to me. You just need to hold off that young man. I will take care of them quickly and then come to help you."
Aotian was slightly taken aback. He felt uncomfortable that as a grown man, he needed a woman to protect him, which undoubtedly struck a blow to his proud spirit. However, Aotian also knew that this was not the time to assert his masculinity. After hesitating for a moment upon hearing Aoyan's words, he nodded in agreement.
The middle-aged man let out a cold laugh and instructed the young man standing beside him, "That young master Aojia is up to you. It doesn't matter if he lives or dies!"
The young man licked his scarlet tongue across his lips, appearing quite ferocious. "Don't worry, this kid won't escape!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the young man swiftly appeared in front of Aotian, casually tossing the dagger in his hand and coldly said, "I never expected that the head of a mere postnatal sixth-level martial artist could rival a mid-grade martial arts technique. Don't you think that's like a pie falling from the sky?!"
"Just don't know if you can handle such a big pie!" Aotian sneered.
"Haha, at such a young age, you sure have a big mouth. You remind me of Aotian from back in the day!" the young man chuckled lightly.
"Knowing my father is the head of the Aojia family, you still dare to come and kill me? Have you been kicked in the head by a donkey?!"
"Hey, our Shadow Adventure Team doesn't care about any Aojia or not; we only know that your head is quite valuable!"
"You are sent by the Zheng Family, right?" Aotian said with an expression of confidence.
The young man's pupils slightly constricted as he coldly snorted.
"Who sent you is not something you need to know. Just remember that the person who will kill you today is called 'Mo Jiu You'!"
As soon as Mo Jiu You finished speaking, he shot towards Aotian like a cannonball, his sharp dagger aimed directly at Aotian's throat, clearly intending to leave no chance for the latter!
Aotian's expression changed, and then he suddenly stepped forward, executing a mysterious footwork. As his pace quickened, Aotian's figure vanished from Mo Jiu You's sight.
Mo Jiu You's expression shifted slightly as he scanned the surroundings, appearing extremely vigilant.
"Whoosh!"
A sound of slicing wind came from Mo Jiu You's right side, and a fierce punch surged towards him like a flood.
"Bang!"
Mo Jiu You's dagger moved like a venomous snake, instantly tearing through the fierce punch and flying towards Aotian's wrist.
Aotian's face changed dramatically; he was too close to Mo Jiu You to retreat in time. Therefore, Aotian could only protect the vital parts of his arm from being injured by Mo Jiu You.
Aotian's arm spun rapidly like a spiral, but even so, the sharp dagger still cut across Aotian's hand, drawing a streak of crimson blood...
