Xinran walked out of the pawn shop with the money she got for the diamond necklace. Unfamiliar with the pawn regulations in Japan, she was repeatedly questioned by the owner about the necklace's value, making her wonder if it was stolen property. 0

Now, she finally had enough money in her hands—not only enough to buy a return ticket but also enough to purchase a nice apartment and live incognito after going back. The necklace was given to her by Mu Shaosi on what she thought was their last night together. He had suddenly placed it around her neck from behind while she was lost in thought by the window, not allowing her to take it off. She hadn’t paid much attention to it at the time, but now she realized just how expensive it was. If she had known its true value, she would never have accepted it. 0

The owner asked her several times if she would redeem it, and she affirmed that she would. However, she didn’t actually know if she would have the chance to come back and reclaim it after leaving. Although her feelings for the necklace were not deep, it held sentimental value because it was a gift from Mu Shaosi. She felt a pang of reluctance to part with it, but ironically, at the moment when she needed money the most, the only valuable thing she owned was this necklace. It seemed destined that her connection with it was shallow—so shallow that she shouldn’t have possessed it at all. 0

Shaking her head vigorously, Xinran reminded herself that this wasn’t the time for wild thoughts. Once she boarded the plane and left Japan, she could think whatever she wanted. Right now, she needed to race against time and get on a flight before Mu Shaosi’s people found her. 0

“Miss, what’s the earliest flight?” After quickly taking a taxi to Narita Airport, she thought that since she had enough money to last for a while, there was no need to rush back. Regardless of which country she flew to, as long as the plane took off quickly, that was all that mattered. 0

“Hello, the earliest flight is Flight A669 to Paris, which takes about eight hours and departs in twenty minutes. Boarding has already begun, and there are still seats available in first class,” the ticket agent replied in fluent Japanese with a polite demeanor and a pleasant smile. 0

Without hesitation for even half a second, Xinran decided to fly to Paris. Since her goal was to avoid Mu Shaosi, she might as well treat it as a trip to relax in that beautiful country. She purchased her ticket and hurried to the boarding gate. 0

At the boarding gate, there was a short line. Xinran stood at the end with her head down; her long hair fell over her face, almost obscuring her profile. With her sunglasses on, no one could recognize her as a star at that moment. 0

“Future Lady, Young Master Si sent us to bring you back!” Suddenly, a familiar voice rang out beside her, startling Xinran. She quickly looked up. 0

Surrounding her were five or six men dressed in black who had appeared out of nowhere. They positioned themselves in such a way that made it impossible for her to escape in any direction. The man standing directly in front of her was clearly leading them; he was Aoki, one of Mu Shaosi’s subordinates whom she knew well. He had saved her several times from danger, leaving her with a good impression of him. But now it felt ironic that he was sent to retrieve her. If she were an emotional person, then right now, the person she would dislike most would be Aoki and his master—Mu Shaosi! 0

There was little expression on Xinran’s face; she wasn’t foolish enough to think she could take on these men. She never expected some mysterious power from above would grant her strength to defeat these underworld figures. Since escaping them wasn’t an option, all she could do was resign herself to returning with them rather than risk becoming a disturbance at the airport… 0

"Thank you for your cooperation, Future Lady!" Aoki slightly bent forward and respectfully bowed to her. Then, several other men also bowed to her, making her the center of attention at the airport, attracting many gazes. 0

"That's enough. I would be happier if I didn't have to cooperate!" Xinran said, blushing. Although wearing sunglasses, she tried to lower her head as much as possible, looking at the ground, and was the first to step away from the airport. 0
