Upon arriving at Seth's, Xinran took her seat, and the waiter promptly brought her a cup of Irish Coffee. She glanced at Augus across the table and softly said, "Thank you!"
"You rushed over here, didn't you? You haven't eaten since finishing work, right? I ordered you a Filet Mignon," Augus said with a slight smile, extending his arm across the table to gently brush Xinran's slightly disheveled hair.
"You mentioned you had a surprise for me; don't tell me it's still the Pink Hyacinth..." Xinran shifted slightly, feeling awkward as she tried to avoid Augus.
"Since it's a surprise, it has to be saved for last to be most enticing. Let's eat first, and then I'll show it to you! But what I fear most is that after you see my surprise, you'll be more shocked than pleased!" Augus chuckled as he picked up his coffee and took a light sip, wearing a half-smile.
"It seems that the surprise you've prepared isn't anything good!" Xinran shook her head in disagreement. "I came to see you today not just for your surprise; there's actually something else I want to discuss with you..."
"I know; you want to talk about breaking up, right?" Augus looked intently at Xinran, asking what he expected.
"Since you know, that makes it easier. You saw that day; I'm already with Zhong Si... So I think it's best if we clear things up between us. Our identities are quite sensitive. If one day I'm followed by paparazzi and rumors break out, it would affect you significantly. What do you think?"

Xinran stared blankly at the sorrowful expression on Augus's face. "Summer, you're really no fun at all! Alright, I've had my fun; let's get serious. Are you planning to take that man seriously?" Augus suddenly changed his expression, looking grave as he asked Xinran.
"I don't plan to play; I really like him, and..." Xinran couldn't help but recall the two intimate days she spent with Zhong Si, a smile naturally forming at the corners of her mouth. Earlier, Xinran mentioned that she and his brother should have known each other five years ago but missed their chance due to circumstances. It seemed like a lie his brother concocted to touch Xinran's heart! Once a woman falls in love, she can become blind to reality. It looks like she would just have to wait for heartbreak; he couldn't protect her from this anymore. Besides, it was he who pushed her into this deception in the first place. Now to talk about helping her felt rather hypocritical!
However, he had prepared this surprise for her, so it would be a waste not to present it. If she still insisted on believing his brother after seeing it, then he would truly let her be; playing the good guy wasn't exactly Augus's forte!
"Isn't love supposed to be about mutual trust for it to be fulfilling?" Xinran raised an eyebrow and asked.
"Well, take a look at this surprise first before you say anything!"
