Xinran suppressed her anger and sat down on a nearby chair to rest. Since her passionate scene with Augus kept getting interrupted, the director had no choice but to let her take a break and arranged to shoot the scenes between Augus and the second female lead that were scheduled for the afternoon.
"Sister Xinran, have a cup of coffee first. I just bought this from the Coffee Shop next door, your favorite Irish Coffee," Wu Jie said as he handed a cup of coffee to Xinran.
She knew that the morning was supposed to be dedicated to the intimate scenes between Sister Xinran and Augus, but due to their continuous mishaps, the director allowed Sister Xinran to rest first and changed the schedule. Seeing Sister Xinran's expression when she walked out of the passionate scene set area, Wu Jie guessed that her mood was not good, so he ran out to buy her a cup of her favorite coffee, hoping it would lift her spirits.
"Wu Jie, thank you, but I don't feel like drinking anything right now. I just want to give Augus a good beating!" Xinran said as she took the coffee and placed it on the small table beside her.
"Sister Xinran, did something happen just now? You seemed really upset when you came out..." Wu Jie said, his big black-and-white eyes wide open. It looked like Sister Xinran was angry with her boyfriend. Although he was an outsider, he knew that couples working together often faced unnecessary conflicts, especially when filming romantic scenes.
"It's nothing, Wu Jie. Just accompany me for a walk; my scenes won't be until this afternoon anyway."
"Okay, take your coffee with you; otherwise, it will get cold soon." Wu Jie smiled shyly, his fair face showing a simple cuteness.
"Well, you little rascal, you even know how to bribe me with my favorite coffee. I won't give you a raise!" Xinran teased as she poked Wu Jie's round little nose.
"Sister Xinran already pays me enough; I wouldn't want more even if offered!"
"You! Let's go!" The two of them walked out of the set together.
"Summer, I heard this morning's scene was your passionate scene with Augus. Is it finished now?"
"Can you share what the scene was about? What made this passionate scene noteworthy?"
"Since you and Augus are a couple, does filming passionate scenes feel like the usual romantic moments at home? Summer, share a little bit!"
Xinran and Wu Jie walked down from the second floor. As soon as they stepped out of the Set's entrance, they were confronted by a group of Paparazzi waiting outside. Each one held a microphone, eagerly pressing Xinran for details about the passionate scenes she filmed with Augus earlier that morning.
Xinran coldly observed the absurd scene before her. These Paparazzi were truly something; the director had only been persuaded by Augus to add passionate scenes yesterday afternoon, and today they already had the scoop. She even suspected that someone might have planted a listening device on her, otherwise, how could her news be so widely exposed lately? If she had been hounded by so many Paparazzi a few years ago, she wouldn't have ended up in such a miserable situation!
"I'm sorry, but as actors, we have a responsibility to keep the plot confidential. This is not only for the production team but also for ourselves, so I apologize that I can't reveal anything!" With a calm response, she pulled Wu Jie closer, blocking the microphones of the Paparazzi, and walked forward.
"Summer, maintaining a good relationship with the media seems to be your responsibility too. Your constant silence towards us is not very wise!"
"Yeah, yeah! We can't get any news from you at all..."
At that moment, one of the Paparazzi suddenly shouted this out, instantly provoking agreement from those around him. They were tasked with interviewing Summer, but it seemed they never gained much from her. Even when news about her and Augus was rampant, they found it hard to extract any useful information from her. It had been like this when she had moved on to someone else and now again.
"Sister Xinran, why don't you say a few words? Even just to brush them off would be fine!" Wu Jie whispered worriedly to Xinran, fearing that Sister Xinran might anger the Paparazzi and lead to unfavorable news about her.
"There’s nothing going on at all, let alone any passionate scenes. I don’t know where you got your information to come here and question me. It’s reasonable for me not to answer. I believe I have the right to freedom of speech, right? If I want to speak, I will; if I don’t want to speak, can you force me?" Xinran scoffed lightly and calmly led Wu Jie away from the encirclement of Paparazzi.
