I reached out to push the box aside to see what was inside, but it didn't budge at all. The large box remained completely still as if it had grown legs.
"That's right, this box must be the key," I said, standing beside it and studying it repeatedly.
We couldn't use any attacks to make noise; if we accidentally alerted those outside, it would definitely be disastrous.
"Knock, knock, knock—" There was a sudden knocking sound from outside.
Xiao Di and I immediately panicked. What was happening?!
"Open the door."
"What are you doing?" I asked, mimicking the voice of the skeleton from before.
"Checking. There is a fugitive. The master must capture him."
A fugitive? It couldn't be referring to Xiao Di, could it?
Although Xiao Di had said he wasn't afraid, how could such a small child possibly withstand that kind of deadly fear?

"Someone saw you bring them here. The master said if they escape and it delays his important matters, you can expect to turn to ash."

I struck down on the large wooden box.
Wow, it was unimaginable that inside this box lay a massive stone tightly covering the passage below.
"That's really it," Xiao Di finally sighed in relief.
The noise outside grew louder, and more skeletons gathered. Without hesitation, Xiao Di and I entered the passage one after the other.
"We need to hurry; they'll soon realize we've escaped here!"
The passage was narrow, but Xiao Di fit perfectly. He ran ahead while I kept my head down closely behind him.
Damn this passage! We had been running for over ten minutes, yet there was still no sign of an exit! I couldn't help but feel anxious and kept glancing back, sensing we were moving downward, but it felt like we would never reach the end.
"Stop! I see you!" A chilling, low voice came from behind us.
"Is it them chasing us, Sister?" Xiao Di asked anxiously.
"Don't panic, just keep running forward and don't look back."
"Sister, don't leave me behind, stay close," Xiao Di pleaded helplessly.
"I know, I won't leave you," I sighed.
If I could, I really wished Xiao Di could leave on his own while I stayed behind to hold off those guys.
But I knew that in this narrow, unfamiliar, and endless path, I was Xiao Di's only source of support. If I left, he wouldn't be able to hold on.
"Sister, there's light ahead, just a little longer," Xiao Di stammered, his voice filled with tears.

"No, no! I'll go out and search again right now."
"Then hurry up and get lost!"

"Come out." Once the room returned to silence, Kurozawa sighed.
I pulled Xiao Di out slowly, unsure of what to say.
"Xi Meng, this is not a place for you to be," Kurozawa said seriously.
"Is this the place of the Demon Lord?" I asked.
"That's right. Fortunately, he is asleep now; otherwise, none of you would escape."
"Why does he have to capture Xiao Di?"

A wave of black mist dissipated, and a dark, eerie portal reappeared in front of me and Xiao Di.
Without looking back, I took Xiao Di into the portal, leaving only my curses echoing in the room…
When we stepped out of that door, we found ourselves far away from the hospital; we could only see a tiny shadow when we turned back.
"Finally out," Xiao Di said, collapsing against me, but a smile lingered on her lips.

"Sister, why aren't you speaking? Are you not happy?"
Xiao Di would not understand. I lost so thoroughly this time and once again lost those close to me.
I looked up at the sun, which was slightly revealing its face—it's sunrise.
I sighed, yet had no mood to appreciate the beautiful scenery.
"Miss, Miss!"
That voice sounded so familiar.
"Xiao Di, did you hear anything?!" I asked in surprise, doubting whether I was hallucinating!
"I didn't hear anything," Xiao Di shook his head.
"Miss, we finally found you!" Yes, there was a voice, right behind me!
Turning around, "It's you! You didn't die?!"
Shi, Dong, and Sha stood beside me, smiling at me. Even the expressionless Sha slightly curled his lips.
"Miss, you scared us to death!" Shi said in fear.
"What happened? Kurozawa said—"
"We encountered him and his Skeleton Army. We thought we were going to die there, but unexpectedly everything went dark. When we woke up, the three of us found ourselves here. We tried to go back but couldn't get close to any hospital."
"So that's how it is..." Why did Kurozawa deliberately say that to me when he clearly didn't do that?
"Miss, did you also encounter Kurozawa?" Shi asked.
