"Wen Wan, Wen Wan, why is it Gu Yi? Are you okay? Should we switch teams?" Yan Cheng said anxiously. Wen Wan glanced at Yan Cheng and signaled her not to speak, pretending not to know was enough. When Wen Wan saw Gu Yi, she thought, why is it him? How is he at Beihu University? Wen Wan and Gu Yi were neighbors when they were young, but Wen Wan's parents moved away after a car accident. They were innocent childhood friends, but now Wen Wan didn't dare to approach him. After experiencing a major upheaval in life, Wen Wan became reticent, unwilling to talk to even her old friends. Only Yan Cheng stayed by her side, accompanying her through the darkest and most helpless moments of her life, moments when Gu Yi was absent. 0

"Wen Wan, Wen Wan, what's wrong? Why aren't you speaking?" Yan Cheng touched Wen Wan's shoulder. "Oh, nothing, just thinking about something. What's up?" Wen Wan replied, "Roll call is about to start, don't space out," Yan Cheng said. Gu Yi began calling names, "Lu Siyun, Liao Wenping, Ning Peier, Shu Xiaozhen..." Gu Yi looked at the list and paused, thinking he had made a mistake, until the instructor next to him nudged him. "Wen Wan," Gu Yi called out. Wen Wan responded softly. After roll call, the instructor began today's military training - standing at attention. 0

Wen Wan was originally not very healthy and couldn't do too much physical work. However, after her parents passed away, she had to become independent and shuttle between various part-time jobs. The current Wen Wan is no longer the protected flower she was when growing up with her parents, but rather a grass that has been tempered by the wind and rain. On the other hand, Yan Cheng is different. He has never experienced such hardship. He quickly found an excuse to rest, complaining of back pain and leg ache. 0

"Gu Yi, can you keep an eye on them for me? I have something to attend to. Make sure they don't slack off," the instructor said to Gu Yi. "No problem, you go ahead. Don't worry, I will make sure they don't slack off," Gu Yi replied. After the instructor left, Gu Yi carefully checked the movements of each new recruit, as if he were the instructor himself. As he walked towards Wen Wan, he was surprised to see her. He had thought the name on the list was just a coincidence, but he didn't expect Wen Wan to be a new recruit. Seeing Wen Wan standing in a military posture, he was filled with doubt. In the past, Wen Wan would have definitely taken a break, but now she stood before him with a very standard military posture. Gu Yi was about to approach Wen Wan to ask about her recent situation when he was interrupted by the returning instructor. He could only wait to ask after the military training ended. 0

"Gu Yi, Gu Yi, the mentor is looking for you. He wants to discuss something about the thesis," Kang Qi came running to find Gu Yi. Looking at Wen Wan, Gu Yi thought he could only go to the mentor first and then come back quickly. 0

After Gu Yi left, the military training ended shortly after. Yan Cheng immediately ran over and pulled Wen Wan to the cafeteria. Upon arriving at the cafeteria, they saw a line of new recruits. Yan Cheng thought they would probably go hungry. Seeing the situation, Wen Wan said to Yan Cheng, "Let's go to the convenience store and buy some instant noodles to eat in the dorm." Yan Cheng looked at the long line and thought that was the only option. After buying the instant noodles, the two of them returned to the dorm. Yan Cheng looked at Wen Wan and asked, "Did Gu Yi come to find you during the military training? Did he talk to you?" Wen Wan didn't want to answer, so she continued eating the instant noodles. Seeing that Wen Wan didn't respond, Yan Cheng knew she didn't want to talk about Gu Yi, so he didn't continue. 0
