Fei Hu thought for a moment and said, "Sure! I happen to have time today; I'll treat you to dinner." With that, he made a sharp turn and followed Alice's car as they drove toward the seaside. The car stopped at the entrance of a leisure resort. Alice leaned out of the window and told Fei Hu, "You find us a spot by the sea; I’ll go use the restroom and be right back."
Fei Hu felt something was off about Alice; why was he sweating while driving? This shouldn’t be happening! Confused, he shook his head and walked briskly toward the seaside restaurant.
With autumn winds blowing and cool weather in the morning, there weren't many people dining at this place yet. Fei Hu casually found a seat since he was treating Alice; he decided to take initiative. He called over a waiter and ordered several dishes along with a bottle of fine red wine before sitting quietly waiting for Alice.
After a while, Alice arrived. When she stood in front of Fei Hu, he couldn’t help but be taken aback—she brought another woman with her! Just as Fei Hu felt puzzled, the woman behind Alice stepped forward and removed her white hat covering her face. When Fei Hu saw her face clearly, he exclaimed in shock: "Wang Qian! How come it's you?"
"Don't get excited! Lower your voice, or I'll break her head," Wang Qian said, pointing at Alice beside her. Fei Hu then noticed that the woman had a small handgun hidden in her long sleeves.
Alice sat down with a pale face and said in a trembling voice, "Fei Hu, you can't blame me for this. As soon as I got in the car, she was hiding there, pointing a gun at me and forcing me to do this. I don't know what deep hatred she has against you."
Fei Hu waved his hand, signaling Alice to be quiet, then said to Wang Qian, "You should sit down! I'm already under your gun; there's no way to escape now. Our matters have nothing to do with Alice; you can't scare her like this!"
Wang Qian didn't respond but sat down, her right hand still pressed against Alice's stomach. This was quite dangerous, and Fei Hu dared not act recklessly; he could only sit there obediently.
"Fei Hu, I risked my life to come back after narrowly escaping death. I've waited for months just to take your life. Today, you better behave; otherwise, you'll put her life at risk," Wang Qian said through gritted teeth.
At that moment, the waiter brought the dishes. Fei Hu calmly set chopsticks for the three of them and smiled, saying, "Whether it's hatred or revenge, you can't let me starve on my wedding day!" With that, he began to eat heartily.
"Wedding? If I hadn't come today, would you have betrayed Ye Xiaofei again? You really can't change your ways. If I hadn't grasped your weakness, it would have been hard to deal with you. I might as well fulfill your wish of dying under the peony flower and being a romantic ghost!" Wang Qian said as her right hand suddenly turned towards Fei Hu, putting him in a perilous situation.
The gun didn't go off; instead, there was a loud crash followed by Alice's scream. When Fei Hu opened his eyes, he saw Wang Qian sprawled on the table as if she had fallen asleep, with a pool of dark blood on the table.
At that moment, Ni Ling and several plainclothes officers rushed in, all holding guns. It seemed the police had saved him this time, and Fei Hu couldn't help but smile gratefully at Ni Ling.
On New Year's Day, a red Z4 sped along the highway heading northwest. Driving was Fei Hu, while Ye Xiaofei sat beside him with a happy expression, shouting at him, "Fei Hu! Do you think your grandfather will like me as his granddaughter-in-law?"
"He will; he's just like your grandfather," Fei Hu shouted back. His voice echoed through the valleys between the mountains and traveled far and wide.
