Ye Wu took a closer look and realized that the person who rushed in was none other than Little Four. The guy was drenched in sweat, panting heavily, and after a long while, he finally managed to say, "Brother Tiger, there's been a major incident!"
Ye Wu felt like kicking this guy to death. He suppressed his anger and sternly asked, "What major incident? Look at you! Can you handle things more calmly? You’re going to scare someone to death!" Ye Wu let out a sigh and turned to sit on the sofa.
Little Four swallowed hard; he looked as if he had run a long distance. It was evident that he was extremely thirsty. Juanzi, who was standing nearby, couldn't bear to watch any longer. She reached over to the bedside table, poured a cup of tea, and handed it to Little Four. Women tend to be softer-hearted than men. Little Four took the cup and drank it all in one go before wiping his mouth and saying, "Brother Tiger, our East Suburb dock was robbed last night. All the brothers fought until the end but couldn’t hold it."
"What? You bunch of idiots! You're only telling me about this now? What is Abiao doing? This was his responsibility!" Ye Wu roared, his face turning pale with anger.
Little Four cautiously stepped forward and whispered, "This happened around five o'clock last night. The brothers who escaped called Abiao, but he thought you were in a bad mood last night, so he kept it under wraps. When morning came, Abiao took some people to the East Suburb. When he got there, things were not as simple as he thought, so he called me. I was outside when I heard this; I was so scared that I didn’t even have time to get a car and ran straight here." Little Four said this with a hint of grievance as he lowered his head.
"Hmph! What can you idiots do right? Tell me! I told you long ago to deal with Fei Hu harshly, but you always had your reasons for not doing so. Now look what’s happened! His appearance has disrupted all my plans. My aunt just now almost scolded me to death. What use do you think I have as Brother Tiger?" Ye Wu vented the frustration that had been building up inside him.
Little Four kept his head down and didn't dare to speak. He had been selfish regarding Fei Hu and hadn’t expected him to show up at Ye Cheng's place without any regard for him. Wasn't that embarrassing? Fortunately, Ye Wu had also experienced Fei Hu's power last night; otherwise, he would have been furious.
Ye Wu closed his eyes tightly, letting his anger dissipate slowly before opening them again. In a calmer tone, he said to Little Four, "Let’s not talk about the past anymore, but you need to listen carefully now—no more screw-ups."
"Understood, Brother Tiger. Just give me your orders; I’ll do my best," Little Four replied softly.
Ye Wu stood up and paced around the room for a couple of laps. Finally, with a furrowed brow and in a lowered voice, he said to Little Four, "Your current mission is to take your most capable subordinates and hunt down Fei Hu throughout the city. Even if you can’t kill him, make sure he can’t show his face in A City for a while. If you can’t handle this task, then please leave me as soon as possible."
"Brother Tiger! Little Four will definitely give it his all this time; just wait for my good news!" Little Four said before gently stepping out.
As Little Four walked out of the room, he wiped the sweat from his forehead and let out a sigh before turning back towards a small alley by the street and hurriedly running off. A low house left over from demolition stood amidst tall buildings around it, appearing both small and old-fashioned—completely out of place.
Little Four walked to the front of the bungalow, paused for a moment, and then pushed open the door. In the center of the room stood an old-fashioned large square table, surrounded by more than ten yellow-haired individuals who were shouting and yelling. Scattered on the table were crumpled bills; upon closer inspection, it was clear they were gambling. Strangely, by the window sat a solitary figure, gazing intently through the somewhat blurry glass at a small patch of blue sky visible between the tall buildings.
"What's wrong, Mouse? Why aren't you playing cards with them? This isn't like you!" Little Four said as he entered and gently patted Mouse on the shoulder.
Mouse turned around, glanced at Little Four, and replied lightly, "My sister just left; I’m not in the mood."
"Ah! That makes sense! Your sister is so beautiful; it's truly a pity," Little Four said as he sat down next to Mouse.
Mouse shifted slightly and quietly asked, "Fourth Brother, you look troubled. Did Brother Tiger give you another new mission?"
Little Four remained silent, casting a disdainful glance at the group of yellow-haired individuals gambling. He clapped his hands and shouted, "Everyone stop! I have something to say." Surprisingly, at his command, the yellow-haired individuals fell silent and stood up straight, clearly showing their respect for Little Four.
Strangely enough, Mouse remained seated and did not move, indicating that he held a certain status among these people.
After a brief pause, Little Four looked around before lowering his voice to say, "Brother Tiger just assigned us a mission: to hunt down Fei Hu throughout the city. Even if we can't take this kid's life, we must at least ensure he doesn't show his face in A City anytime soon. This is a death order; everyone must do their utmost. If we can't complete this mission, our days in Dragon Tiger Gang will be over."
As soon as Little Four finished speaking, the yellow-haired individuals erupted into chaos, each voicing their opinions. Those who had experienced Fei Hu's prowess expressed doubts about the feasibility of this task. Meanwhile, a few reckless individuals boldly claimed they could simply kill him with one strike because they had never witnessed Fei Hu's true strength.
Little Four waved his hand to quiet everyone down. He then turned back and patted Mouse's shoulder again, saying, "What do you think about this matter? I’d like to hear your opinion."
Mouse rolled his eyes and sighed. " Fourth Brother, I don’t mean to speak out of turn, but since this concerns the safety of all our brothers, I’ll dare to say a few words! First of all, it’s somewhat unfair for Brother Tiger to assign us such an important task; to put it bluntly, it’s asking us to go to our deaths." As soon as Mouse finished speaking, those who understood Fei Hu's strength immediately echoed his sentiments, causing another uproar in the room.
Little Four quickly signaled for one of the yellow-haired individuals to close the door again. He said somewhat displeasedly, "Mouse! What do you mean by that? Don’t disturb morale; in times of war like this, if Brother Tiger hears about it, he won’t let you off easily."
Mouse shook his head and exhaled deeply. " Fourth Brother, you know how capable Fei Hu is. If he wants to eliminate you all, do you think anyone can escape? The fact that he hasn’t harmed anyone means he hasn’t been pushed to a dead end. Now that Brother Tiger wants us to take his life, do you think Fei Hu will just wait for death? I believe he won’t; before he dies, he’ll make sure to take us down with him. It could very well lead to our annihilation," Mouse said while mimicking cutting his throat with his hand in a gruesome manner.
Little Four's expression changed as he listened to the Mouse's words, which sounded a bit alarmist, but there was truth in them. Even a dog will jump over a wall when cornered, let alone someone as formidable as Fei Hu. What should he do? He couldn't ignore Brother Tiger's orders, but he didn't want to lose his life either. Little Four stood there momentarily stunned, and the atmosphere in the room grew tense.
The tall buildings blocked the slanting sunlight, making the small room feel somewhat dim. Everyone remained silent because this was a matter of life and death for each person; such words were not to be taken lightly.
"Mouse! If you have any good ideas, just say them! After all, it's for everyone's benefit. We're risking our lives to earn some money, but if we lose our lives, what good is all that money?" Little Four said in a gentle tone. It turned out that even this small-time thug had a softer side.
The Mouse cleared his throat and quietly said, "Brother Tiger's orders must be followed, but how we carry them out is a matter of discretion. We can surround him without engaging directly; we should avoid close contact. If he doesn't appear in public, we can just turn a blind eye. After all, we're all just trying to survive."
Little Four nodded as he listened. The Mouse was clever; he was Little Four's strategist and had some useful insights during critical moments.
"Good! What the Mouse said makes perfect sense. Everyone here needs to listen carefully: what we've discussed and our future actions must remain confidential. If anyone leaks information, I, Little Four, will not let them off easily," Little Four declared fiercely.
The young men present responded in unison, "Understood, Fourth Brother."
As night deepened, the nightlife of City A began to unfold with colorful neon lights and music drifting from afar. It resembled a beautiful noblewoman, a privilege of the wealthy. Look at those upscale clubs, dance halls, and KTVs—each one played with cash.
On the bustling Lychee Road, a familiar figure hurried through the crowd with his head down, moving straight ahead. He crossed the main road and suddenly turned sharply into a narrow alley. This alley was so narrow that only pedestrians could pass through. The cobblestones were cleanly laid out, and the walls on both sides seemed to be made of large blue stones, giving the impression that an ancient noble might reside within.
The man's steps were light, and soon he reached the end of the alley. A not-too-bright light hung above an ancient-style door with three large characters inscribed: "Yiqingxuan Bar."
Just as he was about to push the door open, it suddenly swung open from inside. A hand reached out and pulled him in abruptly. The situation felt somewhat alarming.
