Several women surrounded a man, bombarding him with attention. Fortunately, on this day, Fei Hu's willpower was strong. He maintained his defenses, holding onto his last shred of dignity. He hadn't drunk too much or made a fool of himself.
As the drinks ran out and the gathering dispersed, Xu Yanfei waved goodbye to everyone with a heart full of pain. The look she gave Fei Hu was enough to bring tears to one's eyes. Li Xiaoran nudged Wang Yun beside her and whispered, "You should be careful. This Fei Hu is not someone to be trifled with. Look at how popular he is with women. Be wary that one day he might just leave you."
"It's fine. There’s no such thing as leaving between us. You understand," Wang Yun replied, casting a sorrowful glance at Fei Hu.
Upon hearing this, Li Xiaoran smiled smugly and said, "No wonder I felt something was off between you two. It's good this way; it saves you from emotional turmoil. If you're happy, you’re together; if not, you go your separate ways. No one has to worry about anyone else. What a great arrangement!"
Just as Li Xiaoran and Wang Yun were gossiping, Fei Hu's phone suddenly rang. He quickly answered it; it was Yingzi calling. Her voice was cheerful, indicating she was in a good mood. Yingzi exclaimed over the phone, "Hey! Listen carefully. You need to take a car from Shanghang right now and meet us at 78 Guizhi Road. Don't be late!"
Fei Hu paused for a moment before agreeing readily, "Alright, I'm on my way. I won't delay." After hanging up, he helplessly shrugged at Wang Yun and Li Xiaoran.
Wang Yun smiled lightly and said, "Go ahead. I heard everything clearly. Besides, I have to go to work tonight."
"Hey, you know where I am now. Come visit when you have time. Don’t forget I’m Wang Yun's good friend," Li Xiaoran chimed in eagerly. It was clear that this woman had feelings for Fei Hu and seemed somewhat reluctant to see him go.
Seeing Li Xiaoran's flustered demeanor, Wang Yun couldn't help but laugh and said, "You big love-struck fool! Be careful that some chef doesn’t break your legs." The two women continued their playful banter.
Once Fei Hu got downstairs, he hailed a rental car straight to the train station. Luckily, he caught the 3 PM express train just in time. Although the train hadn't departed yet, his mind was already flying towards City A. It seemed that City A had become his second home in Fei Hu's heart.
78 Guizhi Road turned out to be Fortune Hotel. Looking at the towering building adorned with five dazzling stars on its roof, Fei Hu couldn't help but exclaim, "Another five-star hotel."
He called Yingzi and found out that she and Ye Cheng were already inside the hotel. Upon entering the room, the beautiful decor left Fei Hu momentarily speechless. The saying "a skinny camel is bigger than a horse" rang true.
"Come on over! What are you staring at? You've been abroad several times and still haven't seen this," Ye Cheng laughed heartily at Fei Hu from across the room.
Fei Hu quickly walked over and sat next to Ye Cheng. They exchanged pleasantries before turning to joke with Yingzi as well. The atmosphere was extremely pleasant. Yingzi poured tea for Fei Hu and then quietly sat down to listen to the conversation between Ye Cheng and Fei Hu.
"You really are something else. You just leave without even asking about my situation. I heard you're with the Boss. She treats you quite well, and she's a real beauty. Is that true?" Ye Cheng stroked his beard, staring intently at Fei Hu.
Fei Hu smiled lightly and said, "That's mostly correct. However, I think calling her a beauty is a bit of an exaggeration."
"Oh? Is she not pretty?" Ye Cheng asked with a strange smile.
Fei Hu shook his head and replied, "She is pretty, but she's already in her forties. At most, she's just a middle-aged beauty."
"Stop right there. Don't play games with me. Listen carefully. First, you need to conduct yourself properly. It's fine for a Young Man to be flirtatious, but you can't give up your freedom to others, especially when dealing with such a beautiful, accomplished, and mature woman. You don't want to end up losing yourself in the process," Ye Cheng said, glancing sideways at Fei Hu. This was getting interesting.
Fei Hu smiled slightly but remained silent. He thought to himself, your granddaughter bullies people like this, and you as her grandfather don't even step in to say anything. Yet you tell me what I can or cannot do? I couldn't care less; I just want to enjoy myself.
The atmosphere grew a bit heavy as the three of them silently sipped their tea. No one spoke because they felt unsure of how to start the conversation. Yingzi glanced at Fei Hu, then at Ye Cheng. She bit her lip and suddenly stood up, saying loudly, "Fei Hu, you must return to A City now. Tomorrow, go find your Tang Zong and resign."
"Why?" Fei Hu expressed his dissatisfaction with Yingzi's domineering tone.
Ye Cheng looked at Fei Hu and smiled slightly. He sighed and said slowly to Yingzi, "Alright, Yingzi. This is our Ye Family's internal matter. We can't always rely on Fei Hu. If he doesn't want to help us, we shouldn't keep forcing him. It doesn't sit well with me. As the saying goes, a forced melon isn't sweet."
Finally realizing what was going on, Fei Hu noted that he had never seen Ye Cheng like this before. Could it be that the Dragon Tiger Gang was involved in another Major Incident? After pondering for a moment, he slowly raised his head and quietly asked Yingzi, "Is it that Ye Wu is causing trouble again?"
"Yes. That guy has finally started making big moves. Even Ye Wei is recruiting people now. The current Dragon Tiger Gang is hiding a murderous intent. What's worse is that Ye Wu has almost taken control of all the docks and entertainment venues in A City. He even sent people to seize both major wholesale markets. Because of this, Grandpa's side can hardly move at all, and this kid seems intent on wiping us out," Yingzi said angrily.
Hearing this made Fei Hu's anger rise within him. What kind of person disregards family ties like this? He lightly tapped his fingers on the table as he began to contemplate how to handle the situation.
Sitting beside him, Yingzi poured several cups of tea for Fei Hu. He simply drank without saying a word. Unable to bear it any longer, she whispered angrily, "Stop tapping! It's so annoying! I can see it now; you're really attached to that Tang Zong, aren't you? You don't want to come back, do you?"
Seeing Yingzi's angry expression made Fei Hu unable to hold back his laughter as he replied, "What nonsense are you talking about? I'm not infatuated or anything like that. That Tang Zong is an upright person; it's not as sinister as you think. I'm just thinking about how we should deal with that brat Ye Wu."
"What? So you're agreeing to return to A City?" Yingzi exclaimed with delight on her face.
Fei Hu glanced at Yingzi and said, "When did I tell you that I won't return to City A? I will definitely come back to City A. It's just a matter of timing. You know, recently, Ye Wu has been putting a lot of effort into me. My departure has made him breathe a sigh of relief. My intention is to let him jump as high as he can. The higher he jumps, the harder he falls. As long as we seize the right moment, we can deliver a fatal blow that will ensure he never rises again."
Ye Cheng listened to Fei Hu and his expression gradually softened. He nodded slightly and said, "What you said makes a lot of sense. Dealing with someone like Ye Wu requires ruthlessness. It's not hard to bring him down; the difficult part is preventing him from getting back up. And what you mentioned about waiting for the right opportunity is a good idea. However, if this guy grows stronger and takes control of the entire City A, it might be quite challenging to get rid of him."
Ye Cheng's words were indeed true, and Yingzi couldn't help but nod silently in agreement.
Fei Hu had thought about this too, but from a different perspective. He took a sip of tea and glanced at the closed door. Ye Cheng immediately understood Fei Hu's meaning. He whispered, "It's fine. Speak boldly. This place is very safe. No one can enter without our permission."
Upon hearing this, Fei Hu said, "Ye Wu has always wanted to control City A. His intentions seem far from simple. For example, last time he helped Ye Wei transport smuggled goods. It’s not hard to find an opportunity for him to make mistakes because his greed is simply too great."
As Fei Hu spoke, Yingzi's tightly furrowed brows slowly relaxed. She smiled gently and said, "Ye Wu has been frequently in contact with a woman called Auntie Xiao. It feels like there’s a significant conspiracy between them. Perhaps Ye Wu's Achilles' heel lies here."
"Yes, what both of you are saying makes perfect sense. That bastard Ye Wu is an extreme person. He wants to be the big brother and do whatever he wants in City A; everyone knows this. However, I'm afraid he might suddenly strike out against me. He doesn't want me to exist in City A, and if he wants to lead the Dragon Tiger Gang, he must become its big brother. So he will definitely target me—and it will be lethal. There’s also the possibility that it could involve Xiaofei, Sister Wu, and Yingzi. He can do anything." Ye Cheng said this with a heavy expression.
Fei Hu hadn't considered this point before. It seemed that his plan to wait for an opportunity to return to City A was no longer feasible. What should he do now? Fei Hu couldn't help but frown deeply. If Ye Wu really took action against the villa secretly, how could Yingzi handle it alone? What if he truly harmed Ye Xiaofei? That would be problematic; he was far away in Shanghang and wouldn’t be able to help in time.
"Stop overthinking it. Come back immediately; we really need you here," Yingzi suddenly broke the silence and said urgently.
Ye Cheng nodded silently in agreement with Yingzi. It seemed that his purpose for coming was indeed to bring Fei Hu back.
After thinking for a while, Fei Hu made up his mind and said, "Alright. After I go back, I will immediately bid farewell to Tang Zong. But the news of my return must be kept absolutely confidential." Ye Cheng and Yingzi nodded simultaneously upon hearing this.
