Upon seeing Boss Hong's cowardly demeanor, A-Lian felt a surge of anger. She stepped forward, grabbed Boss Hong's chin, and said fiercely, "You’re being given face, yet you refuse it. Don’t blame me for not considering our past cooperation. For over five hundred thousand, I’ll start by cutting off one of your hands and then one of your feet. You! Go to the kitchen and bring me a kitchen knife, quickly! If you take too long, I’ll make two cuts on your face." As she spoke, she turned her finger towards Lina, whose face had turned a bit pale, and shouted.
Lina hugged her chest with both hands; her previously deep cleavage appeared even deeper. Trembling, she stood up and quietly said to Boss Hong, "Old Hong! Just pay back the money you owe! Otherwise, what good is having money if you have no hands or feet left? Didn’t you just withdraw over a hundred thousand from the bank the day before yesterday? Maybe that would be enough. Can we skip the knife?"
A-Lian was surprisingly straightforward; she revealed Boss Hong's situation with just a few words. Hearing this, A-Lian became even angrier. She suddenly thrust her fingers forward, pinching Boss Hong's throat. He struggled to breathe and began to panic, gesturing for A-Lian to let go. Fei Hu worried that A-Lian might accidentally cause a problem and hurriedly stepped in to stop her.
Breathing heavily, Boss Hong looked at A-Lian in disbelief. This former rival had some skills; he realized he had underestimated her. Some people just wouldn't give up until they hit rock bottom, sometimes valuing money more than their lives.
Fei Hu waved the fruit knife in his hand and coldly said, "Boss Hong, choose between money or life. But we won’t let you die; at most, you’ll end up disabled. Then we’ll call your creditors and have them come here to demand their money from you. If you have it, pay up; if not, get ready for jail! Even if you want to escape to America or England, your legs won’t carry you far." As he spoke, he bent down to grab Boss Hong's leg.
This struck a nerve; Boss Hong hurriedly retreated in fear and said, "Please don’t do anything rash! I’ll think of something! The truth is, I really don’t have much money—this villa is rented! You can see for yourselves; such a large villa is empty inside with no decent furniture. If it were my own house, would it look like this?" What he said was indeed true; Fei Hu had noticed this as soon as he entered.
"Stop wasting time! We didn’t come here to hear your sob story. Hurry up! Our patience has limits; don’t push us too far—it won’t be good for anyone," A-Lian said sternly.
Boss Hong sighed and said, "Then come with me to the third floor; we can talk there."
Fei Hu nodded at A-Lian, and they all headed upstairs. Seeing Lina trembling, A-Lian felt that her outfit was somewhat inappropriate and casually found a piece of clothing from the sofa to drape over Lina.
In a room on the third floor stood a safe. Boss Hong nervously pulled out a key from under his pillow and opened the safe with trembling hands. He took out all the cash inside and placed it on the nearby table while quietly saying, "It’s all here," before lowering his head.
A-Lian walked over, counted the money once, snorted coldly, and said, "Boss Hong, do you think we’re three-year-olds? You think eleven thousand will send us away? Do you really think we’re that easy to bully?" As she spoke, she turned around and closed the door before drawing the curtains. The light in the room dimmed immediately; Fei Hu could clearly sense that Boss Hong was starting to feel scared.
Sure enough, Boss Hong approached and whispered, "I know it’s not enough, but this is all I have right now. Please sit down; let me think carefully about whether I can find some funds from elsewhere."
"Ah, Old Hong! Didn't you say that your wife, the tigress, has a lot of money? Tell her to transfer the funds quickly! Otherwise, if you lose an arm or a hand, it will be too late for her to regret it." This Lina seemed either genuinely scared or intentionally trying to expose Boss Hong's flaws. In her panic, she revealed all of Boss Hong's secrets.
Fei Hu and A-Lian remained silent, staring intently at Boss Hong. Reluctantly, he walked over to the table and was about to pick up the phone when Fei Hu approached him and whispered, "It's best not to play tricks; otherwise, this fruit knife could cut off your hand." As he spoke, Fei Hu waved the knife in his hand, looking somewhat intimidating.
Boss Hong nodded and dialed the number. He began pleading on the phone for a full half hour before saying, "Yes, yes, the Lianqi Glove Factory, four hundred thousand, transfer it immediately. Call me back once it's done. I'll thank you properly; I'll be back tomorrow so we can run the seafood company together." Hearing this made Fei Hu feel relieved; he had been worried that this guy really didn't have any money and might actually lose his hand. That would be impossible.
Once Boss Hong secured the funds, he came over with a smile and said, "Everyone wait a moment; the money will be transferred to your accounts shortly. Do you want to call back and have someone check at the bank?"
"No need. Once it arrives, I'll get a notification on my phone; you can rest assured about that," A-Lian replied with a noticeable smile on her face, easing the atmosphere.
Lina stood up and softly suggested, "How about I brew some tea for everyone? I just bought some Tieguanyin the other day; it tastes pretty good." This woman was truly hard to read; what was she trying to do? In such a tense situation, who would dare drink tea brewed by her? Although it was their own money at stake, their approach was somewhat extreme. If the police arrived, they would still face trouble.
The group sat in silence. Fei Hu felt quite anxious as well; he feared that Boss Hong's wife might encounter unexpected issues during the transfer. If that happened, all their excitement would be for nothing. Time passed slowly as Fei Hu observed A-Lian's anxious demeanor and realized how worried she truly was.
In fact, Boss Hong did not look relaxed either; he was also afraid that his wife might change her mind or that something important might delay the transfer. If that were the case, he would really be finished. It seemed that if he couldn't secure the money today, these two young people in front of him would definitely not let him off easily.
Suddenly, A-Lian's phone beeped with a message notification. She quickly picked up her phone and looked at it for a while before saying, "Alright, the money has arrived. I'll send you a receipt so we can completely settle this financial dispute without any further entanglements."
Boss Hong let out a sigh of relief and pulled out paper and a pen from his drawer to give to A-Lian. She leaned over the table and calmly wrote him a receipt before signing it and handing it back to him. After glancing at it, Boss Hong nodded in agreement.
Fei Hu cupped his fist towards Boss Hong, saying loudly, "Apologies for any offense; we shall meet again." With that, he grabbed the bag of cash and hurriedly left the villa with A-Lian. This scene was truly thrilling yet nerve-wracking.
To avoid drawing attention, Fei Hu did not return the same way but instead ran to another side where he found a more secluded exit. The road in front of him was still there but noticeably less busy with fewer people around. Although they were together with two people carrying so much cash for the first time, Fei Hu felt both exhilarated and nervous.
They didn't dare to stop and kept walking forward. It wasn't easy to hail a rental car. After rushing for more than ten minutes, they still hadn't managed to catch one. It seemed they had taken the wrong route, and Fei Hu was getting more anxious, taking bigger strides. A-Lian was struggling to keep up and said breathlessly, "Is it really necessary to walk this fast? It seems like there's no one behind us."
Only then did Fei Hu turn around and see the empty road, with fields and a construction site on either side. Indeed, there was no one following them. It appeared she was just scaring herself. Thinking this, Fei Hu sat down by the roadside and said, "Alright! No need to walk anymore; let's wait here! We'll move when a car passes by!"
A-Lian smiled and sat down next to Fei Hu. Suddenly, she snatched the money pouch from Fei Hu's hand, lifted the newspaper on top, and exclaimed in surprise, "It's all Hong Kong dollars! How are we supposed to get back? Transferring over a hundred thousand must have some issues, and carrying it with us isn't convenient either! At the very least, we won't pass security!" A-Lian said with a worried expression.
This situation indeed seemed a bit inappropriate; they only thought about taking the money back without considering the complications involved. Just as they were feeling distressed, Fei Hu's phone suddenly rang. It was Zhang Jia calling. She laughed on the phone and said, "Hello! How's it going? Is the money arriving?"
"It's arriving, but it seems we're a bit lost right now and are sitting by the roadside waiting for a car," Fei Hu chuckled. He was about to ask how to get there when...
Zhang Jia warmly said on the phone, "Just tell us what road you're on; I'll come pick you up shortly." Hearing this made Fei Hu very happy. He immediately stood up and looked at the road sign clearly before telling Zhang Jia.
A-Lian said sourly, "Your relationship seems quite special, huh?"
"Not really; we've only met twice. We just get along well since we're both from outside and are straightforward," Fei Hu replied. He couldn't quite understand why someone like her, regardless of being a celebrity or not, seemed so down-to-earth with him.
A-Lian's mood noticeably dropped. She suddenly suggested, "How about this? We give all this money to that big star and let her help us get back. She must have connections with mainland funding."
"You're right! How did you become so smart all of a sudden?" Fei Hu exclaimed happily.
A-Lian shot Fei Hu an annoyed glance but remained silent; she felt somewhat uncomfortable inside.
