Yingzi and Fei Hu chatted for an entire afternoon. Just before Ye Xiaofei got off work, Yingzi took her leave. Although she didn’t say it outright, she hoped Fei Hu could find a way to keep Ye Xiaofei from leaving. If she didn’t go to the United States, Ye Cheng’s health would improve immediately. If Ye Xiaofei left and left everything to Ye Cheng, their family could completely fall apart.
Walking back to Xia Yan's house, Fei Hu was lost in thought about how to handle this situation. Would Ye Xiaofei listen to her? He truly had no confidence in that. Even though he was framed, any woman would break down upon seeing her beloved man with another woman, especially in broad daylight and in the office. It was already a relief that Ye Xiaofei hadn’t stabbed him.
One must learn to think from others' perspectives. With this thought, Fei Hu understood Ye Xiaofei better. It seemed the fault lay with him; he blamed himself for being too lustful, just as Yingzi had scolded him for wanting to sleep with every beautiful woman he saw. This flaw appeared to be his fatal weakness, and if someone caught onto it, he would be finished.
“Hey! Isn’t this the little security guard? We’ve been looking for you everywhere these past few days. You’ve been hiding pretty deep; did you run off into some woman’s arms?” A man’s sarcastic voice came from nearby, startling Fei Hu. He had been so absorbed in his thoughts that he had walked off the path.
Looking up, he saw six or seven blond-haired men standing in front of an Imperial City Club, with the ever-persistent Little Four leading them. Little Four was grinning at Fei Hu while holding a long pool cue.
Having already bumped into them, there was no chance to retreat. Fei Hu could only brace himself and smile lightly, “Fourth Brother, are you planning to play pool on the street? What an impressive character!”
“Impressive my ass! It’s you who attracts attention. We were playing on the third floor and saw you coming from far away. So we happily came down with our cues. How about it? Everyone is quite enthusiastic about you! Let’s have a drink,” Little Four said as he stepped forward and rested the cue on his shoulder.
Fei Hu then realized that Little Four wasn’t the only one holding a pool cue; at least three others behind him were also armed with cues. It seemed this guy had come prepared. He cursed himself for being too careless and colliding with them head-on. Drinking? What was there to drink with such people? However, Fei Hu understood that Little Four was setting up a trap for him; going there might mean not coming back out. They had been at odds for over a year now, and it looked like their conflict was about to move from the shadows into the open.
Seeing Fei Hu looking down and ignoring him made Little Four feel humiliated in front of his brothers. His expression changed as he sternly said, “Don’t push your luck! Let me be clear: there were things we used to turn a blind eye to, but now it’s different. You know too much; A City can’t keep you here. Today, let’s settle this once and for all!”
Realizing that his identity was completely exposed, Fei Hu decided not to hide anymore. He coldly smiled and said, “What kind of resolution are you suggesting? Lay it out for me!”
Little Four didn’t expect Fei Hu to be so bold as to challenge him in front of so many people. His eyes widened as he said, “First, you disappear from A City on your own; I won’t even bother moving against you. Second, we’ll beat you down and throw you out of A City. But if things go wrong, what gets thrown out will just be your corpse.”
"Ha ha ha! A toad sneezing, you sure have a big mouth. Why would I disappear from City A? City A is yours; if you want to fight, let's pick a place! We can't just start brawling here! If it doesn't go well, the police will come, and that would be pointless." Now Fei Hu had learned to be smart; why should he keep his word with such people? They were already being unreasonable first.
Little Four pouted and chuckled, "Forget it, let's do it right here! The police won't come, and even if they do, they'll just call me Fourth Brother." This guy was truly a rogue, without any sense of the rules of the street. As soon as he finished speaking, his pool cue swung towards Fei Hu's head.
This guy had suffered at Fei Hu's hands before; this time he wanted to strike first. If he could knock him out with one hit, it would save him trouble. However, he never expected Fei Hu to suddenly pounce on him like a fierce tiger, moving as fast as lightning. As a result, his attack missed completely. By the time he realized what was happening, it was too late. Fei Hu's fists struck his abdomen like small cannons. With a muffled groan, Little Four flew back two meters and crashed to the ground with a thud.
The pool cue in Little Four's hand clattered to the ground. While those behind him were still in shock, Fei Hu lunged forward, his foot hooking the cue stick and pulling it into his hand.
Fei Hu's might momentarily stunned the few young punks around. Seeing Little Four down on the ground, they all rushed to help him up, completely forgetting about the fight. But Fei Hu didn't think that way; showing mercy to these people would only be detrimental to himself. The pool cue in his hand traced an arc across the ground, and with two sharp cries, two young punks fell to the ground simultaneously.
The two holding pool cues finally woke up from their stupor and charged forward with their sticks raised. But it was too late; Fei Hu's weapon seemed to have eyes of its own as it swept across their wrists several times. With the sound of their sticks clattering to the ground, they screamed and hugged their wrists, crouching down in pain. Seeing that only one person was left standing, Fei Hu realized he needed someone to take care of Little Four. If no one looked after him and something happened, it would be a big problem. With that thought in mind, Fei Hu dashed forward.
Onlookers on both sides of the street finally came out at this moment, watching Little Four's group in disarray. Some bold ones began to shout: "Thinking that just because you have yellow hair you can act tough? Look at you now; you've been taken down! What a relief!"
Fei Hu ran wildly for quite a distance before finally dropping the pool cue from his hand. He glanced back for a moment and seeing nothing unusual, headed towards Xia Yan's apartment complex.
Back at home, Xia Yan, not seeing Fei Hu, was about to make a phone call when he walked in using his key. He felt like part of this home now; even Xia Yan had given him a key as a sign of trust. Fei Hu felt very content inside.
Looking at the sweaty Fei Hu, Xia Yan asked in surprise, "What have you been doing? How did you end up like this?" Saying this, he pulled Fei Hu into the bathroom and washed his face clean for him. That kind of attentiveness and care made Fei Hu feel happiness like never before.
"How about you give me that money? I'll go back tonight," Fei Hu suddenly said to Xia Yan.
Startled, Xia Yan asked with concern, "What's wrong? Are you not comfortable staying here or is there something else going on? If someone outside is causing trouble for you, just let me know. The chief of the local police station knows me; he should be able to help you out. Please don't leave! Stay a few more days; I really don't want you to go." As she spoke, she threw herself into Fei Hu's arms.
The man, Fei Hu, sometimes could not be bound by the emotions of love and family, especially considering that such matters could potentially implicate Xia Yan as well. Thinking of this, Fei Hu gently pushed Xia Yan away from his embrace and said apologetically, "I'm really sorry. I ran into my enemies near your house this afternoon, and I just had a fight with them. Since I'm staying here, it might put you in danger, so I have to leave. Once things settle down, we will have plenty of opportunities to meet."
"No way! If you're leaving, it has to be tomorrow morning. We'll get up early, and I'll drive you there," Xia Yan said sternly, clearly reluctant to let Fei Hu go.
Seeing such a woman, Fei Hu felt a stir in his heart. He lunged forward, pushing Xia Yan down onto the sofa, his thick lips ready to press against hers. Xia Yan used her delicate hand to block his mouth and softly asked, "Are you promising not to leave?" Fei Hu silently nodded and then kissed her. Time seemed to stop at that moment as clothes were tossed onto the floor. Underneath him, Xia Yan joyfully cried out, as if this place was their paradise.
The next day, before dawn, Xia Yan drove Fei Hu to the glove factory with some reluctance. To avoid drawing attention, she parked a little distance from the factory entrance, and Fei Hu told her to turn around and leave.
As Fei Hu entered the factory, a few early-rising sisters were already standing by the sink washing clothes. They greeted him warmly upon seeing him. Hearing their voices, Xiao Qi ran out draped in a coat and playfully glared at Fei Hu, saying, "You still remember to come back? Lost in love and can't get up?"
"You little brat, what nonsense are you talking? Be careful or I'll hit you," Fei Hu gestured as if to strike her before turning around and entering the small room that Xiao Qi and the others had prepared for him.
"How is it? Are you satisfied? The conditions are limited right now; it can only be like this. Look at our boss; he’s also crammed into a small room with us," Xiao Qi followed Fei Hu inside with a cheerful smile. It was only then that Fei Hu noticed how her pajamas accentuated her curvy figure—she was truly a beauty.
"What are you two so happy about?" A-Lian walked in afterward; she also looked like she had just woken up with tousled hair and wearing pajamas.
Fei Hu chuckled and said, "Look at you two dressed like this; are you trying to make me nosebleed?"
"Go ahead! Let me see!" Xiao Qi teased while intentionally puffing out her chest. A-Lian laughed and pulled her out of the room. To be honest, Fei Hu felt a stir in his heart just then.
