"Is it really necessary? How dangerous! Even the police are involved," Fei Hu thought he had a point. He had to seize this opportunity to deal with this woman; otherwise, he might not get another chance.
Ye Xiaofei glanced at the somewhat nagging Fei Hu and suddenly slammed her hand on the chair, shouting, "Are you done? Stop rambling! If you don't want to drive, just get out. Don't think you're so impressive just because you're driving me!"
Oh my, this woman is starting to lose it again. It seems like this advantage isn't really in his favor. Fei Hu shook his head helplessly, looking quite unconvinced. Following Ye Xiaofei's directions, they quickly arrived at their destination. With a large sign indicating the way, Fei Hu drove into the parking lot as directed by the arrows. There were already several nice cars parked there.
After parking, Ye Xiaofei nodded at Fei Hu and said, "I have a few foreign friends joining us for a night of real-life CS gaming. You better pay attention—only winning is allowed. Did you hear me? If you lose, you're treating tonight."
CS, he had heard of it but had never played before. Fei Hu felt completely unprepared. However, when it comes to women, a man has to act confident even if he's not; Fei Hu was no exception. He patted his broad chest and said, "Don't worry, we'll definitely win."
The two joked as they walked inside. Upon entering the lobby, they heard a voice say, "Hi, hello! You must be Miss Ye." A curly-haired girl with blue eyes and a high nose approached them.
Ye Xiaofei stepped forward and smiled, saying, "Yes! This is my friend Fei Hu. This girl is from America; her name is Ruth." Ye Xiaofei introduced them.
Fei Hu quickly nodded at Ruth and realized that foreign women could indeed be quite attractive. Take Ruth for example: she was tall with fair skin, curvy hips and chest, and long legs that were perfectly proportioned—she was no less beautiful than Chinese women. Her nose looked a bit odd at first glance, but after a while, it seemed beautiful in its own way. Ruth led Ye Xiaofei further inside while laughing and said, "Your friend looks fit! He must be great at outdoor sports."
Ye Xiaofei glanced at Fei Hu and laughed, "No, he's a novice; it's his first time playing this."
"Haha! Then we are definitely going to win! Miss Ye, dinner is surely on you two; we want to eat Chinese cuisine!" Ruth exclaimed excitedly as she jumped up, causing her assets to bounce noticeably.
Ye Xiaofei shot Fei Hu a glare and whispered to him, "You better watch yourself and keep your eyes in check; otherwise, you'll regret it." Hearing this, Fei Hu pouted inwardly thinking she was all talk.
Ruth's three friends had already changed into their gear and were waiting for Fei Hu and Ye Xiaofei. There were four of them in total; it seemed like the battle would be 4 against 2. Fei Hu couldn't understand why Ye Xiaofei would make such a bet with them when it was his first time playing.
Once they changed clothes, Ye Xiaofei briefly explained the game rules and essentials to Fei Hu before showing him how to use the gun in his hand. Without her guidance, he would have only known how to use it as a fire poker.
A few people quickly immersed themselves in the game. Ruth and her three companions formed the Blue Team, responsible for defending their territory, while Ye Xiaofei and Fei Hu were tasked with capturing it. The layout of the area was quite impressive, resembling a forest complete with bridges, water, mountains, and houses.
Fei Hu hid behind a large tree, observing for a long time but failing to spot where the opponents were hiding. Ye Xiaofei was starting to get impatient and whispered, "Why don't we charge out?" Fei Hu shook his head, thinking that with such a mindset, claiming to have played this kind of game before was laughable; if they rushed out, they would be taken down like sitting ducks.
Suddenly, an idea struck Fei Hu. He crouched behind the tree, grabbed a branch, and climbed up. He reached the highest point, giving him a clear view of Ruth's team. The four of them were positioned at different spots, clearly experienced players. They were very focused, lying behind large rocks without moving at all. What to do? Fei Hu suddenly felt a surge of excitement and signaled to Ye Xiaofei below.
Ye Xiaofei was not foolish; she quickly retreated behind the tree, picked up a stone, and tossed it to Fei Hu. He caught it effortlessly, stood up straight, and threw it toward Ruth's position. There was a loud thud as the stone hit its target, causing all four defenders to react. A moment later, one of the blue team members' heads began to emit white smoke, indicating that this player had been eliminated and had to exit the game.
Fei Hu looked down in surprise; Ye Xiaofei was surprisingly accurate and quick with her aim—she hit her target on the first try. It seemed she truly was skilled at this game. Fei Hu quickly gave her a thumbs-up.
The three opponents immediately disappeared from Fei Hu's line of sight; it appeared they realized something was wrong. Just as Fei Hu was preparing to climb down from the tree, the opponents suddenly concentrated their fire on the tree with a barrage of shots. Fortunately, Fei Hu reacted quickly and slid down to safety; otherwise, he would have been taken out and left Ye Xiaofei alone to lose the game.
After getting down from the tree, Fei Hu discussed their strategy with Ye Xiaofei. They decided that Ye Xiaofei would shoot to draw the opponents' attention while Fei Hu would flank them from the side for a surprise attack. Once they agreed on their plan, Ye Xiaofei quickly changed her position, firing a shot that left the opponents momentarily confused.
This area seemed designed specifically for someone like Fei Hu; rocks and hills were practically flat ground beneath his feet. Using the cover of trees, he dashed behind a rockery in just a few moments. The blue team had intended to use this rockery as a shield while concentrating their fire on the bridge but did not expect Fei Hu to sneak around behind them.
Watching as Ye Xiaofei caused chaos among the three blue team members, Fei Hu calmly selected his position, raised his gun, aimed carefully, and pulled the trigger. There was another loud thud as one opponent's head began to emit smoke. One of them was slow to descend and got hit again by Fei Hu's follow-up shot. With two players eliminated in quick succession, the tide of battle shifted dramatically in their favor; victory seemed assured. However, one remaining opponent had gone into hiding and refused to show himself.
Fei Hu checked the time—there were still two minutes left in the game. If it ended now, it would result in a tie; what a pity! At that critical moment, Fei Hu suddenly saw Ye Xiaofei walking across the bridge with her gun drawn—she was clearly exposing herself intentionally to lure out the opponent. Seeing this made Fei Hu admire Ye Xiaofei's cleverness even more.
The opposing player seemed overly excited; he suddenly stood up and fired at Ye Xiaofei's head. However, he never expected that right behind him, Fei Hu also fired his weapon simultaneously. Two plumes of white smoke erupted in succession.
The game soon concluded. When everyone changed back into their clothes and came out, Fei Hu noticed that two men accompanying Ruth had impressive physiques as well. One man with a small mustache spoke in broken Chinese: "You guys cheated; winning like that is disgraceful—too cunning!"
Upon hearing this, Ye Xiaofei immediately engaged in an argument with him in fluent English. Fei Hu couldn't understand what they were saying but could tell from their gestures that he was pointing at Fei Hu as if accusing him of something wrong. It was just a game after all; did it need to be taken so seriously? This American seemed quite stingy; Fei Hu found it hard to watch any longer.
"Stop arguing, what's there to argue about? I'll treat for this meal," Fei Hu's voice was a bit loud, causing the two to cease their quarrel.
Ruth awkwardly said a few words to the man, but unexpectedly, he shot a hateful glance at Fei Hu and loudly shouted, "bey bey," before turning to leave.
Ruth shrugged her shoulders and said, "It's fine, let's go eat. He's a bit hard to understand." Everyone chuckled and headed towards a roadside restaurant called Imperial Banquet. From the name, it sounded like a fancy place.
Upon entering, even the waitstaff were dressed like palace attendants, and the arrangement of tables and chairs had an antique charm, giving a sense of time travel. Ruth was quite generous; she sat next to Fei Hu and kept chatting and laughing. Fei Hu felt relaxed as well; he thought that since everyone was out to have fun, being happy was the most important thing. The dishes were ordered by Ye Xiaofei, as she was a foreigner and might not be familiar with our Chinese Cuisine.
In high-end places, the food comes out quickly. Fei Hu had experienced this; within moments, all the dishes were served as if they had been waiting for them. Ye Xiaofei patiently introduced each dish one by one, something Fei Hu had never seen her do before.
During the meal, Fei Hu learned that this event was initiated by several of them, with Ye Xiaofei being one of them.
Ruth and her friends were international students. Another girl sitting with them wasn't particularly pretty; aside from being somewhat tall, Fei Hu couldn't find any standout features about her. Everyone enjoyed their meal very much; sitting together with people from different countries led to discussions about food, history, culture, and the origins of these dishes. For Fei Hu, it was quite an experience; it was his first time attending such a gathering.
While Ye Xiaofei went to the restroom, Ruth secretly touched Fei Hu's hand and said, "Can I have your phone number? I'll come find you when I have time, okay?"
Fei Hu was taken aback for a moment but still gave her his phone number.
At that moment, Ye Xiaofei returned holding the bill and said, "Everyone, I've already settled the bill. Can we leave now?"
"Didn't we agree that we would pay? Do you look down on us?" Ruth's words carried a hint of displeasure.
