Fei Hu lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep. Next door, a beautiful woman was sleeping soundly, leaving him to spend the night alone. What kind of nonsense was this? In his frustration and complaints, Fei Hu felt that he had just closed his eyes when he heard someone knocking on the door. He opened his eyes and thought, "Oh my God, the sun is shining through the curtains! What's going on?"
After getting dressed, Fei Hu rushed to the living room where Yingzi had everything ready, seemingly just waiting for him. He washed his face and brushed his teeth in one go. As he was about to leave, Fei Hu smiled and asked Yingzi: "Why didn't you wake me up earlier?"
"I just woke up too; I had a bit of insomnia last night," Yingzi replied, stifling a yawn.
Hearing this, Fei Hu laughed and said, "I couldn't sleep either. If I had known this would happen, we might as well have stayed up together to chat. That would have been much better than tossing and turning." After saying this, he quickly took a couple of steps.
Yingzi laughed heartily: "At least you're smart. If you were a little later, I'd kick you down the stairs."
After checking out of their hotel, they grabbed a quick breakfast at Yonghe Soy Milk. At the entrance, Fei Hu noticed an old man collecting cardboard and cheerfully asked, "Sir, how do I get to the long-distance bus station?"
The old man looked up at Fei Hu, slightly annoyed, and said, "What do you want? It's all suspended; where do you think you're going?"
"Suspended? The long-distance bus station is also suspended? You can't be serious," Fei Hu replied with a puzzled expression.
Seeing Fei Hu's reaction, the old man scoffed: "You must be out of your mind. Around eleven o'clock today, a Typhoon is making landfall in Xiao Xi. All vehicles and boats are suspended; even schools are closed. Don't you read the news or watch TV? All you know is eating and having fun." With that, the old man pushed his cart away.
Fei Hu stood there in shock. Was this really happening? Was he still dreaming? Yingzi walked over and patted him on the shoulder: "Stop standing there like an idiot; think of something. You can't let yourself die from holding it in."
"Is there really a Typhoon? How could it be so coincidental?" Fei Hu still found it hard to believe.
Yingzi pulled on Fei Hu, walking as she spoke: "Don't make such a fuss. This season is when Typhoons hit. Just look at the streets; many shops aren't open for business. Plus, it's been half a day and not a single rental car has been seen."
"Should we go back and try again tomorrow? Would that work?" Upon hearing about the Typhoon, Fei Hu hesitated; he didn't want to go anymore since there was no one else with him. He couldn't possibly walk there.
Yingzi shook her head firmly: "No way. This afternoon, what you have in hand must reach Xu Ling."
Fei Hu stopped in his tracks. What should he do now? Although Shanghang was close to Xiao Xi, it was still at least forty to fifty kilometers away. Even if he could walk there by midnight, he wasn't sure if Yingzi could manage it too.
"We're going to the square where we fought yesterday. I saw a lot of black cars parked there, specifically for transporting people for business. If we pay extra, someone will definitely take us to Shanghang," Yingzi suddenly said to Fei Hu.
Hey, this woman is indeed not ordinary; she pays attention to details wherever she goes. Fei Hu nodded in admiration and followed Yingzi toward the square from yesterday.
Meanwhile, Chen Dui was sitting by the window of a teahouse with Scarface, both deeply engaged in conversation. Chen Dui laughed and said, "Scarface, you’re quite the veteran here. I heard you dealt with a few outsiders yesterday; is that true?"
Scarface nodded and replied, "Indeed, that happened. The young man has impressive skills. After so many years out here, I finally met a real opponent. Ah, I'm getting old and losing my touch. But enough about that; let’s talk about why you rushed over here."
Chen Dui pulled out a photo from his pocket and explained the situation. Scarface stared at the photo for a while before suddenly slapping his thigh and exclaiming, "What a stroke of luck! It’s like finding something after searching everywhere."
Upon hearing this, Chen Dui eagerly asked, "Do you know her, Scarface?"
"Yes, the kid I faced yesterday was with this girl. She’s quite beautiful, so I remembered her," Scarface said proudly, as if showcasing his impressive memory to Chen Dui.
Chen Dui quickly poured a glass of water for Scarface and smiled, saying, "This depends on you now. If you handle this well, Fourth Brother will be pleased and might introduce you to work at Dragon Tiger Gang. Then you won’t have to stay in this small place anymore; there’s much more opportunity in A City."
Scarface remained silent, clearly deep in thought. After a while, he smiled and said, "Although Xiao Xi is small, finding one person here is like looking for a needle in a haystack. However, today presents a good opportunity; Typhoon is about to hit Xiao Xi, and all vehicles will be suspended. If those two want to leave here, they will definitely come to the square looking for black cars. We can wait for them and catch them when they leave Xiao Xi heading toward Shanghang—a place where our paths won’t cross. What do you think?" This guy may look rough but has quite a sharp mind.
Upon hearing this, Chen Dui immediately said with a smile, "Scarface's plan sounds good. Let’s act quickly; we can't waste time on this. We need to bring more people since both of them are very skilled; having fewer people won't work."
"Haha, I didn’t expect this girl to be a thorny rose. I know now; if they hadn’t shown off yesterday, I wouldn’t have been caught by the police. Thankfully, a friend helped me out with ten thousand bucks; I want them to repay me," Scarface said as the muscles on his face twitched again.
Chen Dui seized the moment and said quickly, "Scarface, once we succeed, money won’t be an issue. Let’s hurry up; we must not be late." After saying this, Chen Dui hurriedly called Little Four.
When they arrived at the square, there were indeed several messy cars parked on the west side—sedans, pickups, vans—about seven or eight in total. A few drivers were bored and squatting on the ground playing cards.
After Fei Hu explained their intentions, they immediately gathered around him. One woman in her thirties with a slightly plump figure stepped forward and pointed at a black F3 car saying, "Do you like this car? Where are you going? I can take you." She glanced at Yingzi standing in the distance.
Fei Hu coldly replied, "To Shanghang; can you handle it?"
"Hey, what's so great about Shanghang? I've even been to City A. But there's a typhoon coming soon, the highways are closed, and we can only take the national and rural roads. If it rains, it will be terrible. So your place is a bit far; probably no one wants to go," the Fat Woman said with a smile.
Fei Hu thought for a moment and asked the Fat Woman, "How much do you usually charge for a trip to Shanghang?"
"Three hundred, but when business is bad, I can do it for two hundred," the Fat Woman replied honestly.
Fei Hu thought to himself that this was really a black market taxi; such a short distance costs so much. It seemed he had to spend some money today; otherwise, these guys wouldn't bite. With that in mind, he shouted, "I need to go to Shanghang with just two people for six hundred bucks. Anyone who wants to go, let's leave right away!" As soon as he finished speaking, several people who had been playing cards dropped their hands and rushed over, all eager to go with Fei Hu.
The Fat Woman became anxious at this moment and shouted angrily, "You bunch of bastards! All you know how to do is play cards. I had this business arranged; why are you coming over to make trouble?" The others ignored her and pulled Fei Hu towards their car.
"Wait! Since you all want to fight over the six hundred bucks, we can't just ride in anyone's car. How about this: to be fair, it's five hundred now. Who's willing to go? We'll leave immediately," Yingzi appeared out of nowhere and was quite sharp.
When the drivers heard this, they were stunned for a moment. It was still the Fat Woman who reacted quickly; she immediately ran over to Yingzi, grabbed her hand, and said, "I'll go; let's leave!"
With a rustle, the group surrounding Fei Hu dispersed. As they walked away, they cursed, "Damn woman! She talks without any sense of timing—one moment she's going, the next she's not."
As they got into the car, dark clouds blocked the sun, and it looked like it might rain. The Fat Woman first called home. As soon as she turned the steering wheel, the car sped off. Fei Hu could tell that this woman had been driving for at least ten years.
Once they drove out of Xiao Xi, the sky became overcast with thick clouds; thunder roared and lightning flashed as rain began to pour down. The wind howled furiously, and Fei Hu could feel the car being pushed sideways by the gusts. Yingzi said with some concern, "Sister, drive slowly."
"It's fine; I've been driving for over ten years. I've seen all kinds of winds; I'm not worried about this. Just sit tight," the Fat Woman said casually.
