Yingzi leaned closer to Fei Hu's ear and whispered, "Not good! All the containers are locked, but the back door of the truck on the east side is open. It seems to be only half-loaded, but there are several people lying underneath the truck. I'm afraid they are pretending to be asleep."
Fei Hu thought for a moment and said, "I'll rush over! You keep an eye from behind. If they spot me, you attack from the back. We'll work together; once we create an opening, we'll split up. You run out the front door while I slip through the restroom. Then we'll meet outside. If we can't find each other, we'll see each other at the hotel."
After Fei Hu finished speaking, he got up and ran toward a large truck on the east side. He knew that retrieving something from inside the truck was their main objective for coming here.
The back door of the truck was wide open, and he could vaguely see about seven or eight people sitting on either side of it, leaning against the tires. Some were even snoring rhythmically; it seemed they were truly exhausted.
Fei Hu confirmed that these people did not appear to be faking it. With a sudden burst of speed, he dashed out. As he approached the truck door, he leaped up from the ground and landed inside the truck without a moment's hesitation. He quickly ran deeper into the vehicle.
Wow! The truck was filled with sealed cardboard boxes that felt quite heavy when he moved one. There was no way he could carry such a box and run away! Fei Hu hesitated for a moment, then pulled out a half piece of rebar from his pocket and jabbed it into a box. With a quick tug, a large hole opened up. He hurriedly reached inside and just as he pulled out a bottle of something, several bright lights suddenly flashed into the truck, causing chaos below.
Fei Hu had a sudden idea and dove forward, crawling into the cargo area of the truck. Below him, someone shouted, "Surround him! Make sure he doesn't escape tonight!" Fei Hu then saw six or seven flashlights waving around below; it seemed these guys were well-prepared.
What to do? He could only force his way down; if too much time passed, those sleeping inside would wake up, and there would be no chance to escape. Thinking this way, Fei Hu sprang up from inside the truck like an arrow shooting toward the door.
"Surround him! Throw everything you have up here!" Fei Hu recognized that voice; it belonged to Little Four.
As Fei Hu jumped down from the cargo area, using the flashlight's light to get a rough idea of his surroundings, he noticed that everyone had gleaming machetes in their hands. He couldn't afford to be careless. With this thought in mind, he performed a forward roll in mid-air and used his momentum to break free from their encirclement.
As soon as his feet hit the ground, Fei Hu took off running; he had no idea where Yingzi had gone.
Suddenly, there were several screams behind him. When Fei Hu glanced back for just a moment, he saw a shadow wielding a five or six-foot-long wooden stick, swinging it as they walked. Anyone who got too close either fell to the ground or screamed in pain. Fei Hu felt relieved; it turned out to be Yingzi.
When they reached the center of the courtyard, those inside likely heard the commotion and rushed out in disarray. Fei Hu didn't pay them much attention; his concern was for Yingzi. Those armed with machetes were not just putting on an act.
Fei Hu slowed down slightly and saw Yingzi catching up with him. The two of them ran side by side before splitting up again; Yingzi charged straight toward the front door with her wooden stick raised high.
Seeing that the timing was right, Fei Hu sprinted toward the restroom. The people who had rushed out from inside were still half-asleep or perhaps drunk and unsteady on their feet; how could they possibly block him? In just a few moments, there were loud thuds as four or five of them fell to the ground. With an opening created by Fei Hu's swift movements, he had no intention of lingering in battle and dove straight into the restroom.
For her, this place was already familiar. As soon as she ran to the small courtyard, Fei Hu pulled out the key he had just made that afternoon from his pocket. It was truly a stroke of luck; he inserted it and it fit perfectly, opening the door immediately. Fei Hu turned around and gently locked the door again. Just as he was about to open the side door, either out of excitement or because it was too dark inside, the key suddenly slipped from his hand and fell to the ground.
This made Fei Hu panic. At that moment, a voice called out, "Who is it? Speak up! If you don't say anything, I'm going to shout for help!" Startled, Fei Hu suddenly remembered that Xu Yanfei seemed not to have left.
In a rush, he blurted out, "It's me! Don't shout!"
As he spoke, Fei Hu dashed over. With the faint light coming through the window, he could vaguely see Xu Yanfei sitting on the bed. Without saying a word, he reached out and pulled her head close, covering her mouth with his large hand.
The woman was a bit startled and muffled some sounds while kicking her legs on the bed. Fei Hu pressed his hand down; oh my! It was smooth and soft—he had grabbed her hair. Feeling a bit embarrassed, he slid his hand down. Oh my! It was just as smooth—she was sleeping without clothes.
Xu Yanfei thought Fei Hu had ill intentions and kicked even harder. Frustrated, Fei Hu raised his hand and punched her leg. The woman shivered all over and quieted down; it seemed she realized how serious the situation was. Fei Hu then whispered to Xu Yanfei, "Cooperate with me, and I won't hurt you; otherwise, I'll kill you with one blow."
Xu Yanfei nodded like a chick pecking at rice. Fei Hu gently released his hand from covering her mouth. The woman hurriedly grabbed some clothes from the bed to cover her chest.
At that moment, a flurry of footsteps rushed into the courtyard, followed by someone shouting, "Miss Xu, are you there?"
Fei Hu pushed Xu Yanfei slightly and said, "Tell them you're sleeping and send them away."
Xu Yanfei nodded and shouted loudly, "You bunch of bastards! Can't you let me sleep? What do you want? Tomorrow I'm going to find Boss; I’m done with this damn job!"
"That's not what I meant! I wanted to ask if someone just came into this courtyard and entered your room," came a voice that sounded like Abiao's.
Xu Yanfei paused for a moment before cursing loudly again, "Shut up! The door is locked from the inside! If you have the guts, come in and see for yourself! You fat pig! If you want to sleep with me, just say it! No need for all this nonsense!"
As soon as Xu Yanfei finished speaking, laughter erupted in the courtyard. Abiao shouted back, "Let’s go somewhere else! You guys are just making things up to get me scolded!" A group of people laughed as they walked away.
Fei Hu finally breathed a sigh of relief and quietly said to Xu Yanfei, "Thank you. Quickly open the side door."
Xu Yanfei felt her way down from the bed while still holding her chest tightly. She might have been so scared that she forgot to put on her clothes.
After some fumbling around, there was a click as the door opened. Fei Hu suddenly realized how foolish he had been; he had been too nervous earlier—the lock opened outward from inside without needing any key. Wasn't this like pulling down one's pants to fart? He had made trouble for himself!
Fei Hu stepped out while self-mocking, and he couldn't help but glance back at the faint light outside. There stood Xu Yanfei at the door, covering her chest with some clothing. The gesture was simply too enticing. Fei Hu gritted his teeth and lightly waved at Xu Yanfei before disappearing into the night.
He ran wildly, and when Fei Hu reached Main Road, he turned to look back. The lights of Breeding Farm lit up, and the sounds of people filled the courtyard; he could vaguely hear shouts and curses.
He had made it out, but what about Yingzi? Fei Hu was in a dilemma when his phone vibrated in his pocket. He quickly pulled it out and saw a message from Yingzi: "I'm behind the big tree at the mountain pass."
After reading it, Fei Hu sprinted off again. Although it was dark, the road was decent, and soon enough, he reached behind the big tree to find a shadow leaning against the trunk.
As he approached slowly, he realized it was Yingzi. Fei Hu felt a surge of relief and hurriedly asked, "Are you okay?"
"I got a little hurt, but it's nothing serious. Let's go!" Yingzi said, though Fei Hu could sense her pain despite her words. Strangely, she was still holding onto a wooden stick.
Fei Hu stepped forward and took the stick from her hand, saying, "What do you need this for now?" He prepared to throw it away.
"Don't throw it! We still have a long way to go to the city; it's good for self-defense," Yingzi replied, her voice trembling slightly.
Fei Hu quickly said, "Do you want me to take a look at your injury before we go?"
"What's there to see? It's pitch black; looking would be pointless. Let's hurry!" Yingzi sounded a bit impatient.
Fei Hu fell silent and led the way with the stick in hand while Yingzi followed behind. To ease her pain, she deliberately asked Fei Hu, "Why were you inside for so long? Did Xu Yanfei keep you in her bed?" As she spoke, she even laughed.
