"How fragrant!" Fei Hu couldn't help but exclaim, and the three of them began to toast each other. This truly opened Fei Hu's eyes; in his imagination, people from the south shouldn't drink strong liquor, which he thought was a specialty of the north. However, he was completely wrong. Xu Yanfei's liquor was no less impressive than that of the other two.
Once the alcohol hit their stomachs, the conversation flowed freely. Yingzi found it difficult to silence Fei Hu as he rambled on about various topics. It was clear that Xu Yanfei was enjoying herself. As they talked, Fei Hu suddenly lowered his voice and asked Xu Yanfei, "Miss Xu, you must be one of the top figures at your company! Truly young and accomplished, keeping a low profile!"
Xu Yanfei smiled and leaned closer to Fei Hu, exhaling a bit of alcohol-laden breath as she said, "The Big Boss makes the big decisions; I handle the trivial matters. For instance, I managed the rental of this venue all by myself. Fortunately, these outsiders are quite generous; they hardly haggled over the price I quoted and even gave me a small Red Envelope. They really know how to do business."
Upon hearing this, Yingzi quickly signaled Fei Hu to continue asking questions. Fei Hu wasn't slow on the uptake; he poured more liquor for Xu Yanfei and smiled as he said, "What a coincidence! I didn't expect that our friendship would blossom from such an encounter. It seems that in the future, we won't have to trouble Miss Xu too much while developing in your area. I'm curious about those generous outsiders—what kind of business are they in that they need to rent a venue from you? Their goods must be quite valuable if they're so willing to spend."
"I wouldn't know about that. Ideally, I should be giving them benefits," Xu Yanfei replied. "But you’re right; they must be quite wealthy because when the Container arrived this afternoon, six large trucks came to transport goods. They have a lot of manpower too; they stayed at our Breeding Farm, which forced me to free up a few dorm rooms for them. But that's fine; we won't need to send anyone for night duty since they'll handle everything themselves." Xu Yanfei finished her drink in one gulp and raised her empty glass.
Seeing that he had asked enough questions, Fei Hu poured liquor for himself and Yingzi before quietly asking Xu Yanfei, "Miss Xu, do you have a boyfriend?"
"Pfft, a boyfriend? My child is already two years old! As for my husband, it's better not to mention him. He does his thing; I do mine—no one needs to bother with the other. In reality, we're just nominally married. Otherwise, how would I have time to come out drinking with you guys at night?" Xu Yanfei's face turned slightly red; it was evident that if she continued drinking, she might get drunk. Fortunately, Fei Hu had prepared for this and had already finished pouring from the bottle.
Yingzi, who had been silent until now, chimed in: "Miss Xu, could you take us both to your Breeding Farm tomorrow? We really want to see what a large Breeding Farm looks like."
Xu Yanfei shook her head decisively and said, "No way! They don't allow outsiders in; that's been agreed upon beforehand. Besides, there's nothing there right now—just an empty space and a few rows of buildings. There's nothing worth seeing. It's better for you to focus on your business and see if there are any projects we can collaborate on so everyone can make some money—that's what really matters."
Yingzi nodded immediately and said, "Miss Xu is absolutely right! We'll go back tonight and discuss things thoroughly. How about we gather again another day? It's getting late tonight; let Mr. Pig take you home."
Upon hearing this, Fei Hu thought that Yingzi was being quite mischievous by suggesting he take a married woman home late at night—did he still want his legs? Just then, Yingzi discreetly kicked him and pointed at her phone, but Fei Hu didn't understand her meaning.
Xu Yanfei laughed and said, "How could I trouble Mr. Pig? I'll just go back by myself; it's not far anyway." This clearly indicated to Fei Hu that she was willing for him to escort her home.
Fei Hu was momentarily stunned and hurriedly said, "It's okay, I'll take you!"
The three of them chatted and laughed as they went downstairs. This woman was quite the braggart; wasn't it Yingzi who paid for the meal? Fei Hu understood that Miss Xu was just a small woman who took advantage of her position to gain some benefits, and she was quite ambitious with a considerable amount of greed.
After hailing a taxi, before Fei Hu could say anything, Xu Yanfei smiled and said, "Let's both sit in the back! We can chat a bit."
Fei Hu had no choice but to open the car door and sit down first. Once Xu Yanfei got in, she told the driver where she wanted to go. Just then, Fei Hu's phone in his pocket vibrated. He switched it to silent mode; it felt like a text message.
Fei Hu took out his phone and saw that it was a message from Yingzi: "Remember the route and address to get home. Complete the task and return promptly. Don't mess around; keep this in mind." Fei Hu couldn't help but smile at this and hurriedly put his phone back in his pocket.
As the car started moving, the interior lights were turned off, and neither of the two in the back spoke a word. Gradually, Fei Hu felt Xu Yanfei leaning against him; she was soft and warm. He felt embarrassed to move away, so Xu Yanfei comfortably rested on him, softly snoring. One of her hands even rested on Fei Hu's thigh.
The streetlights outside flickered by as Fei Hu sat in the car, feeling anxious. A woman he had just met was behaving like this towards him; he couldn't figure out what she was thinking. Listening to her steady breathing made him even more confused about whether she was genuinely asleep or pretending to be asleep. How could she sleep next to a stranger?
Fei Hu remained still, without any impure thoughts. He had a nagging feeling that the driver in the front seat was peeking at them through the rearview mirror. Finally, the car came to a stop, and the driver called out, "We've arrived."
Fei Hu quickly nudged Xu Yanfei, who was sprawled over him, and softly said, "You're home."
Xu Yanfei straightened up and rubbed her eyes, saying, "We arrived so quickly! Can you walk me a bit further inside? There are a few broken streetlights; it's a bit scary walking at night." Fei Hu nodded helplessly.
As Fei Hu paid the driver, he whispered, "Wait for me here; I'll be back soon. You can charge for your waiting time."
"Okay, try to be quick. It's best if you don't go upstairs," the driver said with a mischievous smile, as if he sensed something unusual.
They walked along a somewhat difficult path and soon reached an old residential area. The buildings inside were illuminated by dim streetlights, showcasing their history. Fei Hu could tell that the residents here were not wealthy; they were mostly ordinary lower-class citizens.
As they approached the entrance of a small alley, Fei Hu stopped and softly said, "Miss Xu, take care. I'm heading back."
"Please don't go back just yet. I live alone, and we can also discuss any potential collaboration," Xu Yanfei boldly grabbed Fei Hu's hand right at her doorstep.
Xu Yanfei's directness surprised Fei Hu. He gently pushed her hand away and smiled, saying, "No need for that. I won't be able to sleep in a different place. I really have to go back."
"If you can't sleep, then don't sleep. We can do other things," Xu Yanfei said as she suddenly lunged forward, wrapping her arms around Fei Hu and planting kisses on his face with her breath reeking of alcohol, as if his face had something delicious on it.
Fei Hu turned his head to glance at the dazed Xu Yanfei. He couldn't understand what was wrong with this woman. Suddenly, a breeze blew by, bringing with it an unpleasant odor from Xu Yanfei. Oh no! The legendary body odor! Fei Hu held his breath and pushed Xu Yanfei away, running off while saying, "I'm leaving!"
After running quite a distance, Fei Hu could still hear Xu Yanfei desperately calling out to him.
Once he got into the rental car, the driver, a middle-aged man, glanced at the panting Fei Hu and chuckled, "Young man, you have great self-control. It's impressive. If you can't resist the temptation of women while out here, you'll run into trouble sooner or later."
Fei Hu curiously asked, "How do you know she was tempting me?"
"Hahaha! That woman just now? Most of us who drive rental cars know her. Her name is Xu Yanfei; she works at a breeding farm. She divorced her husband two years ago due to personal issues but isn't content with her situation. She often uses her youth and looks to hook up with some businessmen. Was she trying to discuss some collaboration with you?" the driver asked while driving.
Fei Hu awkwardly nodded and replied, "Yes, but her business card says she's an assistant manager, which is why we interacted with her." He then briefly recounted what had happened that day.
After listening, the taxi driver laughed and said, "Assistant my foot! She's just a worker. But it seems like she wasn't intentionally looking for you today; rather, you walked right into her trap. She's not a bad person; she just wants to squeeze some money out of you guys. She's subtly trying to get you to give her money—not selling or robbing—her methods are quite clever." Hearing this made Fei Hu gasp in surprise.
