Fei Hu chuckled and said, "Perhaps society has corrupted them. Money, power, and status have made them lose their way; they can't find themselves anymore. These people are like they have been poisoned."
Ye Xiaofei paused her work and looked intently at the simple man before her. She didn't expect him to have such insight; it seemed she had underestimated him all along.
Suddenly, there was a loud crash of a glass breaking in the hall, followed by Ye Cheng's furious roar: "You beast! Get out! I never want to see you again!"
Upon hearing this, Fei Hu quickly pulled Ye Xiaofei along as they rushed over. They saw Ye Cheng standing with his back turned, surrounded by shattered glass, while Ye Wu stood nearby with an angry expression.
Ye Wei muttered quietly from the side, "You Third Brother, why are you bringing up the big brother issue today? It's not up to you or me; it's up to the old man and the Dragon Tiger brothers. It seems you're going crazy wanting to be the big brother. Why bring this up during the New Year?"
"You get out too! Don't pretend to be a good person here. You think I don't know about the good deeds you've done? What goes around comes around. You want me dead, but heaven won't take my life. As for the position of big brother, don't even think about it for now. I'll pass it on to whoever I want; it definitely won't be either of you," Ye Cheng turned around and pointed at Ye Wei, his beard trembling with anger.
Hearing this from the old man made Ye Wei upset as well. He shouted loudly, "Dad, that's not right! We are your sons; how can the position of big brother be passed on to someone else? Doesn't that mean we are incompetent? Is our Ye Family really that useless?"

I either would have been killed by you beasts or eaten by wild animals. But heaven spared me and allowed me to escape. Yet you, this beast, are still not satisfied. After the Annual Meeting, you even had someone threaten me with a gun to make me write a resignation agreement. What else do you have to say?" Ye Cheng was furious and began to breathe heavily.
Ye Xiaofei hurried over with Sister Wu to pat Ye Cheng's back. Several elder figures could no longer bear to watch; one of them said, "You all should leave! Don't anger the elder brother any further; I'm begging you." The elder bowed slightly to Ye Wu and Ye Wei as he spoke. The scene was infuriating; Fei Hu clenched his fists, wanting to punch both of them.
At that moment, Ye Wu suddenly knelt down with a pale face and shouted, "Dad! I didn’t do anything like that! I swear to heaven!" Ye Cheng did not even turn around; he simply waved his hand. Brother Dong and another lackey saw their elder brother's gesture and approached him from either side, dragging Ye Wu out of the living room.
Unwilling to give up, Ye Wei mockingly said, "His mouth is as hard as iron; swearing is useless. Who else could do such a thing besides him?"
Sister Wu gave Brother Dong a look as he returned to the hall. Brother Dong walked in front of Ye Wei and gestured for him to leave. Ye Wei shook his head and walked away helplessly.
The once lively atmosphere suddenly turned unpleasant due to this incident. Many people looked at Ye Cheng in anger and found excuses to leave until only four elders remained who were about the same age as Ye Cheng. One of them, called A Quan by Ye Cheng, came over and sat beside him, sighing as he said, "Elder brother, the Dragon Tiger Gang needs some restructuring. I shouldn’t be saying this during the New Year celebrations, but I really can’t stand it anymore."
Ye Cheng coughed twice and sighed deeply before calling the other three to sit closer. He then told Brother Dong, "Dongzi, take a few brothers and guard the entrance. No one is allowed in. If someone comes to pay their New Year’s greetings, accept their gifts for now; I'll personally thank them later."
Brother Dong nodded and took a few younger brothers with him.
Then Ye Cheng turned to Sister Wu and said, "Close the door to the living room as well; we need to discuss a Major Incident today." He waved for Ye Xiaofei and Fei Hu to come closer. Fei Hu looked puzzled about what Major Incident Ye Hu wanted to discuss and thought it had nothing to do with him but still walked over.
A Quan patted Ye Cheng on the shoulder softly and said, "Take your time; we're not in a hurry. We're older now; don’t get easily worked up and ruin your health; no one can replace us."
Ye Cheng nodded and sighed, saying, "I wasn't planning to bring this up today, but since these brothers are here, I might as well mention it! Although Fei Hu is not one of us from the Dragon Tiger Gang, this kid is a good person. I've long regarded you as my own grandson. Moreover, my life was saved by you."
Upon hearing this, Fei Hu felt deeply moved and quickly replied, "Grandpa, please don't say that. It's just a trivial matter, nothing to worry about."
Ye Cheng shook his head and continued, "Xiaofei has grown up. Watching her mature brings me peace of mind. Today, I must speak about this in front of my brothers to avoid any unforeseen circumstances in the future that could turn this into a legendary tale."
Ye Cheng spoke for quite a while without getting to the main point. Sister Wu, feeling confused, gently reminded Ye Cheng, "Big Brother, what exactly do you want to say? Should I speak on your behalf while you take a break?"
"You don't know this matter; only we few here are aware. You might not believe it, but Ye Wei and Ye Wu are my adopted sons." Ye Cheng finally revealed what was on his mind. The three present—Ye Xiaofei, Fei Hu, and Sister Wu—were stunned; it was indeed hard to believe.
Regaining her composure, Sister Wu glanced anxiously at A Quan and the other three elders. Seeing them merely nod silently left her puzzled about what was happening. Ye Xiaofei was also completely bewildered. She only knew that these two uncles were in constant conflict with Grandpa over power issues. She had once doubted whether they were truly family, but that thought had quickly passed without further consideration.
"Big Brother, this is quite sudden; we can't accept it all at once. Can you explain in detail? Especially for Xiaofei; she wants to understand the whole story more than anyone," Sister Wu finally couldn't hold back.
Ye Cheng nodded and said, "Ye Wei and Ye Wu are the children of two brothers in our gang. Their father unfortunately died in a gang shootout, and their mother remarried shortly after, leaving them at my doorstep. I had no choice but to adopt them as my own children. For their sake, I only took one child from Xiaofei's father. Unfortunately, fate was cruel; Xiaofei's parents also passed away early. I can say that I have poured all my life's efforts into these two boys. But somehow someone revealed their true identities to them, and since then they have turned against me completely, wanting to see me dead as if I were the one who harmed their father."
