Ye Wei pondered for a moment before revealing all the plans he had already thought out in his mind. Unexpectedly, Ye Wu Yi shook his head vigorously, like a drum being beaten, and repeatedly said, "No, no, I don't have that much money. Ye Wu drank several cups of tea and finally gritted his teeth and said, "The most I can gather is two hundred thousand. I can't come up with a single cent more. If that's possible, let's discuss the details and sign a contract to avoid any misunderstandings in the future."
"Ha ha! Two hundred thousand is indeed a bit low, but it's acceptable; this shows Third Brother's sincerity. Tomorrow morning, come to our company, and we'll discuss it in detail and draft an agreement. This matter is settled," Ye Wei said, a barely noticeable smile crossing his face.
Fei Hu finally opened his eyes around two in the afternoon after sleeping soundly. He felt a bit empty in his stomach and remembered that he hadn't eaten for two meals. He got up, tidied his room casually, washed up, changed into a new set of clothes, grabbed his phone and wallet, and groggily went downstairs, heading straight outside the community.
As he was thinking about where to go for a meal, someone suddenly called his name from behind. Startled, Fei Hu turned around to find A-Lian standing there with her hands in the pockets of her white jeans, stamping her feet continuously. The woolen coat she wore looked a bit thin, and her knitted hat was pulled down over her ears; she indeed seemed a bit cold.
Fei Hu hurried over and asked with a smile, "What are you doing here?"
"I’m waiting for you! Is that not okay?" A-Lian replied with her eyes squinting into crescent shapes as she smiled.
Fei Hu scratched his head in confusion and asked jokingly, "Waiting for me? Is there something going on? It wouldn’t be that Six Brother is causing trouble again, would it?"
A-Lian's expression turned serious as she said, "After you left last night, everyone went back home. Around midnight, I wondered if you had returned, so I called your phone but couldn't get through. My heart sank at that moment. Then I called every half hour until two o'clock with the same result. When dawn broke and I was really worried, I called Yingzi. She told me you were detained here; that's how I found out where you were staying. So I rushed over and waited here because I knew you'd come out eventually—see? I waited until now."
Hearing this made Fei Hu feel deeply moved. He quickly said, "You're really silly! Why didn't you just call me or come home to sit for a while? It's freezing out here!"
A-Lian smiled and said, "Yingzi told me you got home around nine. By the time I rushed over, it was already eleven. I was afraid of disturbing your sleep, so I didn't call you. I just waited until now. It's fine as long as you came back safely." A-Lian said this while looking Fei Hu up and down, worried that he might have been hurt.
This woman moved Fei Hu deeply; he didn't know what to say and stood there in a daze. It was A-Lian who reacted quickly and nudged him, saying, "Why are you just standing there? Did you come out for something?"
Only then did Fei Hu realize he had come out to eat. He quickly pulled A-Lian and said, "Come on, let's go eat! I'm starving!" Sister Lian nodded, and the two ran toward the small restaurant ahead.
Inside the villa, Ye Cheng was chatting with Sister Wu when Yingzi walked over and sat beside Ye Cheng, saying sweetly, "Grandpa, the New Year is approaching, and it seems like there’s not much going on lately. I want to go back home to spend the Spring Festival with my family. When I leave, I'll arrange for Fei Hu to take my place so that you can have a safe and happy Spring Festival. What do you think?"
Ye Cheng clapped his thigh and said, "Of course! How could I forget such an important thing as the Spring Festival? You feel like my own granddaughter; I completely forgot about going home. No worries, just go ahead! With Xiaofei here during the Spring Festival, I'll try to stay in as much as possible. As long as there are no major incidents, pack your things today and leave tomorrow!"
Yingzi happily replied, "Thank you, Grandpa! I'll go pack now and head back tomorrow afternoon."
Seeing Yingzi's joyful expression, Ye Cheng suddenly said to Sister Wu, "This child is really great. Send her grandpa two bottles of our treasured wine and prepare a red envelope for her. It's the New Year; we should seek some good fortune." Ye Cheng had a big smile on his face.
Sister Wu laughed and said, "You think alike! We'll take care of that tonight. I just heard Yingzi say she would invite Fei Hu over. If he can come, we'll have a wonderful New Year celebration. The key is that his presence gives even me a sense of security."
"Ha! You're right! But who knows if he will want to come? This morning, I happened to overhear Xiaofei talking with Yingzi. It seems that kid got into trouble again last night; it sounds like he was locked up again. In just over twenty days, he's been in twice already; that's quite a blow for him," Ye Cheng said with a serious expression.
Sister Wu exclaimed in surprise, "How did he get locked up again? He seems like such an honest kid; why has he been getting into so much trouble lately? He can't seem to avoid it."
Ye Cheng stroked his beard thoughtfully and said to Sister Wu, "For him, this might actually be a good thing. Young people are full of vigor, and with his skills being so remarkable, if he doesn't face some setbacks now and then, he'll become arrogant in the future. Good steel must be tempered through hardship; this will benefit him in the long run."
Just then, as Ye Cheng and Sister Wu were discussing Fei Hu, Yingzi walked in wearing a black trench coat and large sunglasses, preparing to head outside when Sister Wu suddenly called out, "Yingzi! Come here for a moment; I need to ask you something. Answer honestly; otherwise, don't even think about going out." Sister Wu made a funny face at Yingzi as she spoke.
Yingzi looked puzzled and softly asked Sister Wu, "What's going on? Why so mysterious? Just ask, and I will definitely tell you what I know."
Sister Wu pointed to the chair opposite her, inviting Yingzi to sit down before saying, "Did something happen with Fei Hu again last night? Can you give us the details? Every time something happens, you two just share it with each other and ignore how we feel!"
Upon hearing this, Yingzi quickly smiled and replied, "That's not it! We were worried that you and Grandpa would find out and start to worry. There's nothing to worry about now; he has already come out. Here's what happened..." Yingzi then recounted everything that had occurred the previous night in detail.
Ye Cheng's expression changed as he listened, and he shouted angrily, "What kind of world is this? Just because someone is wearing a police uniform, they can arrest people? Fei Hu and his friends were wrong to gather and fight, but nothing actually happened. Now the Dongguan Police Station is sending people to our district to arrest them. This indicates there must be something fishy going on; it's simply too much!"
Ye Cheng was so furious that he was breathing heavily and even coughing.
Sister Wu hadn't expected things to be like this. She quickly patted Ye Cheng's back and said, "Don't get so angry; he's out now, right? It's not worth getting upset over this."
After resting for a moment, Ye Cheng turned to Yingzi and asked, "How is that kid feeling? Has he been affected?"
"I called him this morning, and I could sense that he seemed quite down. He was just responding to me without much enthusiasm. I think he might not have slept well last night, so after a couple of exchanges, he hung up," Yingzi said with a long sigh. Everyone felt sorry for Fei Hu; he hadn't done anything wrong, yet he had been locked up twice. It seemed life was playing tricks on him.
Ye Cheng stood up and paced back and forth in the living room. Suddenly, he turned around and said to Yingzi, "If you have time later, you should talk to him. Help him come out of this shadow. This isn't a big deal; why don't you and Xiaofei take him out for karaoke or dancing or something? Help him regain his confidence; he can't keep feeling down like this."
Yingzi nodded and smiled, saying, "Grandpa thinks of everything! I'll go take care of it right away." With that, she stood up and walked toward the living room exit.
Watching Yingzi's disappearing figure, Sister Wu suddenly smiled and said, "These two kids are really good to Fei Hu. He does have a likable side. However, with a man like that, there will surely be many women around him."
Ye Cheng chuckled and replied, "That's just the nature of men. In the past, it was normal for capable men to have multiple wives or concubines. But now, it's all about one happy family while others are left troubled." Ye Cheng's words carried a deeper meaning.
