The driver was a bit scared and nervously said, "Little brother, do you have any enemies? If that's the case, you should get out of the car early. I can't drive any further."
As he spoke, an old factory appeared in front of them. The sign at the entrance read "126 Liulin Road" in bold letters, clearly designed to attract attention.
"Alright! Just stop here," Fei Hu suddenly said. By the time the driver stopped the car, Fei Hu had already run about twenty meters ahead. He glanced at the meter and saw it read 48 yuan. He tossed down a fifty and hurriedly got out of the car, genuinely worried that his troubles might affect the taxi driver. However, the driver's nerves were so frail that he didn't even dare turn around; he just drove straight away.
After walking a couple of steps, two rental cars suddenly screeched to a halt in front of Fei Hu. Seven or eight rough-looking individuals got out of the cars, and leading them was the chubby guy whom Fei Hu had just beaten up. He turned to a short but stout middle-aged man in his forties and said, "Six Brother, this is the kid who ruined our plans and beat us up badly. He made us lose face. He even said that if he sees us again tomorrow, he'll kill us."
The middle-aged man called Six Brother stretched his neck and flexed his wrists. His large, dull eyes scanned Fei Hu before he smiled coldly and said, "I heard you're quite a fighter and very arrogant. Do you think I, Six Brother, need your permission to collect protection fees from now on?"
Fei Hu unbuttoned his trench coat and counted—there were eight of them. He felt somewhat reassured and replied, "You have hands and feet; if you want money, go earn it yourself. Why bully honest people? If you have guts, go after those who actually have money!"
"You bastard! You're so arrogant in front of Six Brother; I think you're tired of living," said the chubby guy who had been beaten like a grandson earlier. Now he was trying to act tough, completely taking on a sycophantic demeanor.
At that moment, A-Lian and Xiao Qi walked out of the factory gate. Upon seeing Fei Hu, A-Lian looked surprised and asked, "Why are you outside? I thought you hadn't arrived when I saw a group of people. Come on in and chat." She reached out to pull Fei Hu inside.
Fei Hu smiled and said, "Sorry, I didn't expect to bring along some baggage. I need to get rid of them before going in; otherwise, it'll just be uncomfortable."
A-Lian turned back to look at Six Brother and the chubby guy and joked, "Your baggage seems a bit long. But since you're at my place now, how can I let you handle this? Xiao Qi, go get some scissors; we'll help Fei Hu cut off this tail." Xiao Qi was momentarily stunned but quickly understood and ran toward the factory.
Six Brother leered at A-Lian for a moment before grinning and saying, "This young lady seems quite fiery; did you not release some steam last night? Let me tell you; it's best if you don't interfere. Everyone knows my reputation on the streets—I usually don't go against women. But if you insist on stepping in, I won't hold back. Just remember that my methods can be ruthless; don't say I didn't warn you."
"Ha ha ha, a toad sneezing, what a big mouth! Who do you think you are, the boss of the Dragon Tiger Gang, Old Master Ye? I don't think so. You wouldn't even be worthy to carry his shoes. With your level, how dare you come out and show off? I see you're just itching for a fight," A-Lian said, glaring fiercely at the man who called himself Six Brother.
A-Lian's words were merciless, leaving Six Brother blushing with anger. He shouted loudly, "Why aren't you making a move? Take these two dogs down! Otherwise, they won't know who Six Brother really is!"
These people clearly came prepared. From behind, they pulled out iron rods and steel pipes. Just their imposing presence was enough to make some timid individuals back down. Leading the charge was a hefty man who shouted as he rushed forward. Seeing this, Fei Hu quickly pulled A-Lian behind him; how could he let a woman be at the forefront in such a situation? Just then, Xiao Qi led over a dozen women running out, each wielding a long wooden stick, and without hesitation, they swung them down towards the heads of these men.
Unfortunately for Six Brother's subordinates, they were armed only with short weapons and had no chance to use them. In no time at all, they were being beaten so badly by these women that they cried out in despair and fled.
Xiao Qi didn't care who Six Brother was; she charged in swinging her stick directly at his legs. With a sharp scream, the fat man turned to run. Although he was short in stature, he was surprisingly quick on his feet. Xiao Qi chased after him and struck him on each shoulder with her stick, knocking Six Brother to the ground. He rolled forward twice before getting up again and running away. In just a little while, all of them had vanished from sight.
Fei Hu shook his head in disbelief and smiled at A-Lian. "Truly, strong generals have no weak soldiers. Your people can fight better than men! I didn't realize some of them looked like young girls or older sisters."
A-Lian sighed and replied, "They have to be strong; if we can't even fight, what are we doing here? It's a path we were forced into; my sisters had no choice but to take this road."
While Fei Hu and A-Lian were talking, Xiao Qi returned with her group of women, panting heavily. She smiled at Fei Hu and said, "You're really something! After disappearing for over twenty days, you show up bringing us this swarm of flies! Couldn't you have brought something better?"
Fei Hu quickly laughed and said, "If I hadn't brought these guys along, how would I know that you all could fight like this? It really opened my eyes." The group chatted as they walked into the factory area.
They arrived in a room that resembled an office. Xiao Qi and the other women busied themselves while A-Lian stayed behind to talk with Fei Hu. Fei Hu looked around curiously before asking in surprise, "So now you're running a business? You're the Boss now? That's great!" He was genuinely happy.
A-Lian thoughtfully replied to Fei Hu, "We can't just mess around our whole lives. When we couldn't reach you, this glove factory went bankrupt. Through some connections, I took over this factory with my sisters. It's our way of making a living now; we won't have to go out and do things we look down on anymore."
"That's impressive! It takes courage to take that step; it's not easy at all. I'm happy for you. There might be various problems at first, but if you persist through it all, everything will turn out fine. Keep it up! What is your biggest challenge right now? Tell me; maybe I can help," Fei Hu said sincerely.
A-Lian had a slight smile on her face as she said with a wry laugh, "When I was taking over this factory, I tried to call you, but your phone was always off. I wanted to consult you for some advice, but since I couldn't reach you, I had to call Brother Guang. But he's such a rough guy; when it comes to business, he knows nothing and couldn't give me any useful opinions. So, I gritted my teeth and took over the factory. Everything is fine now, except that I owe someone twenty thousand dollars. But that's not urgent; once everything is running smoothly, I'll be able to pay it back."
Fei Hu nodded and said, "How about this? I still have some spare cash on hand. You can take it to pay off your debt first, and when you start making profits, you can pay me back later. What do you think?"
A-Lian thought for a moment and replied, "Sure! Owing you money feels better than owing someone else. Now tell me, where have you been during this time? Nothing bad happened, right?"
Fei Hu shook his head helplessly and recounted how he had saved someone, got into a fight with others, and ended up in prison. A-Lian listened with growing anger, pounding the table in excitement.
Just as A-Lian was feeling indignant about Fei Hu's situation, Xiao Qi walked in. She might have heard the last few sentences and approached Fei Hu, patting him on the shoulder twice. "Stay strong; it's all in the past now. I know exactly what it feels like."
Fei Hu looked at the young girl who had a similar experience but was much younger than him and nodded firmly as if to say that they should forget everything; it would all become history.
A-Lian suddenly smiled and said, "You really have a chivalrous heart. But why were so many people following you? Did you get into some trouble again?"
"Hey! Don't even mention it. This morning at breakfast, three guys came to collect protection money. They were just bullying honest people. Do you think I could just stand by? What's worse is that they even tried to stab me," Fei Hu said.
Xiao Qi quickly put down what she was doing and asked anxiously, "Are you okay? How did you escape?"
Fei Hu smiled and replied, "Of course, I fought them off with a pair of iron pliers." As soon as Fei Hu finished speaking, both A-Lian and Xiao Qi burst into laughter.
