“Long-Haired Brother, you’re back! Do you have a moment? I need to talk to you,” Fat Girl said with a smile, peeking her head through the window.
Fei Hu adjusted his newly changed clothes and shouted out, “Come in and let’s talk!”
Upon hearing this, Fat Girl bounced in excitedly. This girl had learned to dress herself up; she wore an oversized knitted sweater that perfectly covered her backside, and on her chubby legs were black stretchy pants that made her look both sexy and beautiful. Her long hair had been cut into a short style, giving her a youthful and vibrant appearance.
“Wow! Dressed up so nicely, have you got a boyfriend?” Fei Hu asked with a grin as he looked at Fat Girl.
Fat Girl playfully kicked Fei Hu and laughed, “Boyfriend? You wish! After not seeing you for a few days, you come back asking such gloomy questions. If you keep it up, I won’t talk to you anymore!”
“Hey! You were just calling me ‘brother.’ I was about to say how sweet Fat Girl has become lately, but before I could finish, you changed your tune. That’s not good. Also! Can you stop calling me Long Hair? It’s been ages since I cut my hair; can’t you come up with something nicer?” Fei Hu said as he hurriedly turned on his phone, which was specially arranged by Ye Xiaofei.
“Alright, I won’t call you that anymore. From now on, it’ll just be Fei Hu. If you behave well, I might call you Fei Hu brother,” Fat Girl said with a beaming smile.
Fei Hu stood up, glanced at the clock, and asked Fat Girl, “What’s the matter? Hurry up and tell me! I need to go out soon.”
“It’s always like this with you; it seems like you’re the only busy one in this city. I want you to accompany me to Zhonglian. I’ve got my eye on a new phone, and I need your help to check it out and give me some advice. This should be fine, right?” Fat Girl said with a pout.
This little girl often helped Fei Hu, so her request wasn’t unreasonable. After thinking for a moment, Fei Hu replied, “Okay, but we need to be quick. I really have something to do later. How about we go tomorrow evening instead?”
Fat Girl pouted her lips and said unhappily, “No way! I want to go now. Besides, I won’t have time tomorrow. Let’s hurry up!”
“Then let’s go quickly! Stop dawdling,” Fei Hu said as he got ready to leave. He closed the door and windows, and soon after, he walked out of the alley with Fat Girl.
Zhonglian is a chain supermarket in City A, which has a good reputation. Therefore, the locals prefer to shop here. The quality is generally guaranteed, and the prices are affordable, making the business very successful.
Fei Hu and Fat Girl walked quickly, not like they were shopping but more like two quarreling lovers, chasing each other. Soon, Fei Hu arrived at the mobile phone section. Fat Girl, panting and laughing, scolded him, "If I had known you would act like this, I wouldn't have come! People on the street are watching us like we're in a show."
"Isn't that great? I've been hoping for this. Quickly tell me which phone you like," Fei Hu asked eagerly.
Fat Girl rolled her eyes at him and walked towards a counter selling domestic phones. After confirming her intention, the salesperson brought out the phone she liked. Wow! It was indeed nice—well-crafted with an elegant appearance, and the key feature was its large screen. Holding it felt impressive, but at 1,200 yuan, it was a bit pricey for Fei Hu's current income; that was half of his salary.
Fei Hu helped Fat Girl try it out and found that all the functions were quite good. In fact, he wasn't very knowledgeable about such things, but since she had invited him along, he had to pretend to know what he was talking about. When Fat Girl heard him say it was good too, she was naturally pleased and immediately proceeded to make the payment.
Feeling excited about shopping, Fat Girl insisted on browsing around the mall for a while longer. Fei Hu tried to persuade her to leave, and after some effort, he finally got her out of the mall. An aunt sweeping the floor saw them chatting and laughing and said with a smile, "You two made up! Young people should be like this—arguing and then reconciling."
Upon hearing this, Fat Girl shyly leaned her head against Fei Hu's back and laughed, "What is she talking about? This has nothing to do with anything!"
Fei Hu remained silent as he hurriedly pulled Fat Girl along. They crossed the road and headed towards a lane that could accommodate vehicles; passing through it would lead them home. Just as he intended to drop Fat Girl off at her doorstep, his phone rang unexpectedly. He took it out to check and saw that it was Ye Xiaofei calling. He felt a surge of joy and quickly answered, "Hello! What do you need?"
Ye Xiaofei paused for a moment before saying, "Wait for me downstairs at Yipinju. I'll be there soon. Be quick; don't waste my time. Do you hear me?"
This woman still acted like a leader even after work! However, Fei Hu felt quite happy inside. He hurriedly asked, "Where is Yipinju? I don't know."
"What’s under your nose? If you don’t know, just ask," Ye Xiaofei replied before hanging up on him. Fei Hu was annoyed; this woman was too domineering! Would it kill her to say one more word? After calming down, he suddenly thought that Ye Xiaofei might not know where Yipinju was either since she had spent many years in America and seemed unfamiliar with City A.
Fat Girl looked at Fei Hu with a slightly sour expression and asked, "Is it a woman who called you? You must have some luck with women! No wonder buying a phone made you act like you were catching a thief."
As soon as Fat Girl finished speaking, a guy wearing a hat suddenly reached out and snatched the bag containing her phone from her hand before sprinting away. The situation unfolded so quickly that Fei Hu had no time to prepare; he was still wondering where Yipinju was and hadn't even noticed the bag in Fat Girl's hand. It took her a few seconds to react before she shouted, "My phone! My phone has been stolen..."
Fei Hu snapped back to reality and immediately took off after the thief. The guy had already run about forty to fifty meters ahead. With great experience, he pulled out the phone and tossed the entire bag onto the road. Fei Hu wasn't falling for that trick and pushed himself to chase after him.
The thief didn't run towards Main Road, instead darting into an alley. Fei Hu didn't care; he relentlessly pursued him. After weaving through several alleys, the thief noticed that Fei Hu was gaining on him and suddenly bolted out of the alley towards the outskirts. Fei Hu refused to back down, thinking that this guy must have trained or something, as his leg strength was impressive, and he was starting to struggle to keep up.
As night fell, there were not many pedestrians around. Watching the two chase each other, no one dared to intervene. Suddenly, the thief turned sharply and headed towards a newly constructed building. Fei Hu, panting heavily, chased after him with all his might.
Desperately, Fei Hu felt like he was about to collapse. The thief began climbing the stairs—one floor, two floors—and by the time he reached the third floor, Fei Hu was nearly ready to sit down. He couldn't believe it; could he really not outrun a phone thief? Suddenly, he realized there were no more sounds of footsteps on the stairs. He thought to himself that the guy might have slipped into a room on the fourth floor, which would be troublesome since it was such a large building—who knew which room he had entered?
Taking a deep breath, Fei Hu mustered his strength and continued up. Upon reaching the fourth floor, he was taken aback; the unfinished Building had no lights in the corridor, and with dusk approaching, it was quite dim.
Being bold due to his skills, Fei Hu checked each room one by one. Fortunately, none of them had doors yet, so he could see inside easily. As he approached the middle of the corridor, his heart skipped a beat when he saw a room with a Curtain hanging on its door. The curtain swayed gently with the breeze in the corridor. Upon closer inspection, Fei Hu noticed that this room also lacked a door.
This had to be the thief's hideout; that guy must have gone inside here. With this thought in mind, Fei Hu dashed forward and flung aside the Curtain, stepping into the room. What lay before him made him doubt his senses; it felt like a dream. Inside were people sitting or standing around—mostly women. As Fei Hu slowly shifted his gaze towards a woman near the window with long hair cascading down her back, she suddenly removed her top, revealing her entire back.
With the faint light filtering through the window, Fei Hu saw that her back was stunningly beautiful—like something out of an oil painting. Just as he became entranced and forgot why he had come there in the first place, two women suddenly rushed up from behind him and threw a blanket over his head. As darkness enveloped him, Fei Hu finally realized danger was imminent.
Fortunately for him, being trained in martial arts allowed for quick reflexes; he crouched down abruptly and rolled away just as the blanket missed him completely. He heard one voice call out, "Good skills! Since you're here now, let's have some fun with this expert."
In a hurry, Fei Hu retreated against the wall to gain an advantageous position before looking up again. The speaker was none other than the woman who had just exposed her back; she was now fastening her top with a smile on her face. Although it was dimly lit and hard to see clearly, Fei Hu thought she was incredibly beautiful—thick eyebrows and big eyes complemented by a high nose bridge. Her chest wasn't as pronounced as other women's but still full enough; she wore what looked like Jeans, accentuating her curvy figure perfectly. Fei Hu never expected such beautiful women would be among thieves.
