As they crossed the mountain and reached the peak where they had stayed on their first night, Fei Hu suddenly stopped. It seemed he was deep in thought. Yingzi gently nudged him and asked, "What are you thinking? Did you discover something?" 0

Fei Hu nodded and said, "I think they must have moved up from the valley to the mountain. This cave where we stayed a few nights ago is the most suitable for living. I believe we should go check it out." 0

Yingzi considered for a moment and replied, "Sure! You decide, and I'll follow your lead." 0

Hearing this, Fei Hu felt extremely pleased. He had become the central figure among them, making all the decisions. This feeling of being a small leader was quite nice. 0

Using his experience from living in the forest, Fei Hu assessed the direction and quietly made his way toward the cave. Although he moved lightly, the thick layer of fallen leaves in the forest still produced a faint rustling sound. As he approached the cave, Fei Hu signaled Yingzi to crouch down. He then leaped up into a large tree with agile movements, leaving Yingzi below in awe. 0

From his perch in the tree, Fei Hu looked down through the leaves and realized he had guessed correctly. Inside the cave, there was a layer of dry grass on the ground, along with several green military coats. On the other side of the cave were various food supplies—bottled water and what appeared to be canned goods in metal boxes—plentiful and diverse. However, Fei Hu had no intention of examining everything one by one. 0

The cave was completely empty and eerily quiet, which didn't make sense. With so many supplies, there should be someone guarding them. Had they left? That seemed unlikely; at least two people would stay behind to watch over such a stash. Suddenly, Fei Hu realized that they must be hiding. These guys were quite clever, he thought to himself with a silent curse. 0

He needed to come up with a plan to draw them out. Fei Hu gestured to Yingzi below, who immediately understood. She picked up a small stone from the hillside and threw it in an arc. The stone landed with a thud not far from the cave entrance. Almost instantly, two figures wielding machetes dashed out; they had hidden themselves very well, and Fei Hu hadn't noticed them at all. 0

These two individuals wore masks like Fei Hu's and were dressed entirely in black. They appeared to be the assassins Ye Cheng had mentioned. However, their movements indicated that they were trained professionals. 0

The two black-clad figures exchanged glances before scanning their surroundings with keen eyes. One of them even pulled out binoculars to survey the entire hillside. Realizing that things were getting risky for him up in the tree—if he was spotted now, all his efforts would be wasted—Fei Hu knew he had to act quickly without alerting their entire group. 0

He leaped from one tree to another and continued jumping between trees until he reached Yingzi's side. She was crouched in the grass, chuckling softly as she said, "Are you reincarnated from a monkey?" 0

Fei Hu smiled but didn't respond; there was no time for jokes now. He leaned closer to Yingzi's ear and whispered a plan before signaling for an ambush opportunity. Like a whirlwind, he dashed down the slope. 0

Soon after, a voice called out, "Who’s there?" followed by sounds of a struggle. Yingzi didn’t hesitate; she leaped into action and slid down the slope like a child on a slide from the mountaintop. 0

When she arrived at the cave, she saw Fei Hu engaged in a fight with two men in black. Perhaps due to Fei Hu's sudden appearance, the two men were taken by surprise; they seemed not to have reacted yet and were desperately attacking Fei Hu, losing their awareness of other defenses. Unbeknownst to them, someone was approaching from behind. 0

Upon seeing Yingzi sneak up, Fei Hu deliberately slipped his foot. The two men in black, eager for victory, attacked simultaneously. In that instant, Yingzi struck one of the men on the back of the neck with the wooden stick in her hand. With a thud, the man fell to the ground without even making a sound. The other man, startled, instinctively turned his head to see what was happening, but Fei Hu wouldn’t allow him to look. He swung the wooden stick at the man's neck as well, and both fell together. 0

Fei Hu took the two men's knives and removed a pair of binoculars from one of them. He waved his hand and quickly ran into the cave with Yingzi, looking for two large backpacks. They stuffed anything edible they could find into them. When Yingzi tried to pack some bottled water, Fei Hu stopped her. They packed everything useful that they could carry until their bags were full. When they could no longer fit anything else, Fei Hu signaled Yingzi to hurry and leave while he piled up what they couldn’t take onto a stack of hay and threw in a lot of dry wood from outside the cave before setting it on fire. 0

By the time they reached the top of the mountain, thick smoke billowed from the cave, and flames danced wildly inside. Yingzi suddenly asked worriedly, “Will this fire ignite the entire forest? If that happens, we’ll be in big trouble.” 0

“How could that be? The front of the cave is all stone, and it’s still twenty meters away from any trees. This little fire won’t catch the forest; it’s already good enough if it burns everything inside,” Fei Hu replied. Before he could finish speaking, the flames inside began to dwindle. 0

Yingzi skeptically said, “Are you a mountain god or a person? How do you know everything about this forest?” 0

Fei Hu found it amusing and suddenly looked up to see that Yingzi had a long tear in her clothes around her buttocks and thighs, exposing her snowy white skin. He could even see her lacy underwear. His heart raced uncontrollably; this must have happened when she slipped earlier, and it seemed she hadn’t noticed at all. 0

In these deep mountains and old forests during broad daylight, there wasn’t a soul around. Upon seeing Yingzi's exposed skin, Fei Hu felt an inexplicable urge rise within him; he wanted to rush over and touch her. But he couldn’t—he couldn’t do such an indecent thing to this woman. 0

Noticing that Fei Hu had suddenly fallen silent, Yingzi laughed and said, “Aren't you always so brave? You can barely move after carrying just a little bit today.” 0

Fei Hu remained silent, battling internally with himself. Finally gritting his teeth, he softly said, “Yingzi, your pants are torn.” 0

“Oh, is it here?” Yingzi touched the tear with her hand. 0

Fei Hu felt very embarrassed and simply responded with an “mm.” 0

“Right here! I know; it’s already torn anyway. There’s nothing I can do about it now; I’ll fix it when we get back,” Yingzi said candidly without any pretense. It seemed she truly had no mixed thoughts about it at all; that’s why she didn’t care one bit. 0

Fei Hu's face turned red to the roots of his ears. Fortunately, Yingzi was walking ahead; if she had seen him like this, it would have been quite embarrassing. 0

Walking through the forest while carrying something was extremely inconvenient. He either got caught on something or tripped over another. Thankfully, with Fei Hu leading the way, the two quickly reached the summit of the second mountain. Suddenly, a rustling sound came from behind, and Fei Hu hurriedly stepped back. The two of them quickly ducked into the bushes under a large tree. Just as they settled in, more than ten men in black holding machetes approached. At the end of the group was Curly, whom Fei Hu had seen that night, along with someone named Mao Liu. 0

"Big Brother, this can't go on. The brothers are all exhausted. It's been so many days without seeing anyone; what if they get eaten by wild beasts?" Mao Liu said from the back. 0

Curly stopped and said, "Boss wants to see people alive or dead. If you say they've been eaten, there should be some evidence. We need something to report back." 0

"That's easy to handle; we can fabricate some evidence. Problem solved," Mao Liu said proudly. 0

Curly shot a glare at Mao Liu and said, "Third Brother, don't give me such terrible ideas. You know how tough Boss is; if things go wrong, she might reward us with a bullet each." Fei Hu mimicked a gunshot gesture with his hand. 0

Mao Liu stuck out his tongue and laughed, "Big Brother, when will you get us something like that to play with? Machetes can't rule the world anymore. If we had that this time, even if he were Huang Feihong reincarnated, we'd still send them to meet Yama." 0

"Let's go! You don't need to worry about this. A few days ago outside the mountain, if we used it and got discovered, wouldn't we all be done for? Now it's different; in the Deep Mountains and Old Forests, who dares to come in? Let's wait a couple more days! Boss will definitely send someone to deliver these goods over. By then, one sound will solve everything," Curly said with a laugh. 0

Watching the group move away, Fei Hu finally pulled Yingzi along, and they crawled out of the bushes, their legs feeling a bit numb. 0

Fei Hu asked Yingzi in confusion, "Did they just imply they want to use guns against us?" 0

Yingzi sighed and nodded helplessly. 0
