"Granny Wang, if you continue to make unreasonable trouble, I will punish you and Changgui as agreed," the Village Chief warned.
"You..." Granny Wang was frightened into silence.
"Everyone, please disperse and stop gathering here," the village chief said to the crowd.
"Okay," the crowd replied and then scattered.
"Mom... Mom..." Wang Changgui said with difficulty.
"Oh my son, are you alright?" Granny Wang said with concern.
"Mom, avenge me... avenge me," Wang Changgui struggled to say.
"Alright, I will definitely avenge you," Granny Wang said fiercely.
"Granny Wang, I advise you to save your breath; you're no match for me," Chen Shuying said smugly.
"You... you shameless woman," Granny Wang said angrily.
"Granny Wang, I suggest you hurry and take your son for treatment; otherwise, it will be too late," Chen Shuying reminded her.
"You... stop pretending to care," Granny Wang said fiercely.
"Believe it or not," Chen Shuying shrugged.
"You..." Granny Wang was so furious she couldn't speak.
"Sister Chen, let's go," I said to Chen Shuying.
"Okay," Chen Shuying nodded, then took Xiao Liang's hand and followed me as we left.
"Sister Chen, I never expected Granny Wang to be so unreasonable," I said indignantly.
"Well, she's always been like this, but before I had my husband backing me up, she didn't dare to do anything to me; but now..." Chen Shuying said with a bitter smile.
"Sister Chen, you're right; people like Granny Wang shouldn't be spoiled," I encouraged her.
"Yes, I think so too," Chen Shuying smiled.
"Sister Chen, it seems the village chief is looking for you; we'll head back first," I said.
"Alright, you all go back; I'll be there shortly," Chen Shuying replied.
"Okay," I responded and then took Zhang Xiaoxiao home.
"Laughing Girl, thank you," Chen Shuying suddenly said.
"Sister Chen, you're welcome," I replied with a smile.
"If it weren't for you, I really wouldn't know what to do," Chen Shuying said sadly.
"Sister Chen, everything is in the past now; things will get better in the future," I comforted her.
"I hope so," Chen Shuying sighed.
"Sister Chen, let's go back," I said with a smile.
"Okay," Chen Shuying nodded and then pulled Xiao Liang beside her as we left together.
When we reached the front door, we saw Granny Wang still holding Wang Changgui while sitting on the ground, continuously cursing Chen Shuying.
"Sister Chen, why is she still cursing at you?" I frowned.
"Don't mind her; that's just how she is, cursing all day long," Chen Shuying replied.
"Oh," I responded and followed Chen Shuying into the house.
"Xiao Liang, you go play in your room first; Mommy and Sister will talk for a bit and then make dinner," Chen Shuying said, patting Xiao Liang's head.
"Mm," Xiao Liang nodded obediently and ran into the room.
"Sister Chen, do you have something to tell me?" I asked curiously.
"Laughing Girl, thank you so much for today," Chen Shuying expressed her gratitude.
"Sister Chen, there's no need to be so polite; I just did what I was supposed to do," I said shyly.
"Laughing Girl, you helped me so much; I really don't know how to thank you," Chen Shuying said.
"Sister Chen, please don't say that; it was just a small effort on my part," I humbly replied.
"Laughing Girl, what are your plans for the future?" Chen Shuying asked.
"I..." I was caught off guard by her question.
"Laughing Girl, if you have nowhere to go, just stay here with me; although I can't offer you much help, at least I won't let you go hungry or cold," Chen Shuying said sincerely.
"Sister Chen, thank you, but I've already found a place to stay," I smiled and replied.
"Oh, then I'm relieved," Chen Shuying smiled back.
"Sister Chen, let's go entertain those Fellow Villagers," I reminded her.
"Right, if you hadn't mentioned it, I almost forgot," Chen Shuying said, tapping her head.
"Hehe, let's go quickly," I said with a smile.
