"This past few chapters have been quite challenging to write. Although the personality traits of each Fleet Girl have been clearly defined by the official sources, Little Sword doesn't want to stick strictly to those singular portrayals. How should I put it? Human nature is a complex thing, so the updates might be a bit unstable; I hope everyone can be understanding."
"Sis, aren't you worried about what Richelieu might do to your husband?" Saratoga said while helping her sister tidy up the room. "As the main wife, you just agreed when Richelieu said she wanted your husband to stay with her. Don't you have any sense of authority as the head of the household? And your husband, he's an Admiral! Why is he so soft-hearted? Whatever Richelieu says goes. Even if there wasn't enough room in the car, the town isn't far from the Naval Base; walking wouldn't take long at all. Why did he have to spend the night at the church with Richelieu? They probably already... you know, Sis, you're the legitimate wife, and you haven't even had your wedding night yet, but that little mistress Richelieu got ahead of you. Aren't you even a little angry? I think when he comes back, he should kneel on a washboard for a night and we should lock that little mistress Richelieu in the woodshed..."
"Jaja." Lexington shot her sister a glare. Ever since they returned from town, Saratoga had been rambling on endlessly. She wondered how she had never realized before that her sister had such a talent for talking.
"Put this picture frame on the bedside table." Lexington carefully wiped off nonexistent dust from a picture frame she took out of her suitcase and handed it to Saratoga, who was pretending to wipe down the bedside table with a cloth.
"Uh, got it, Sis." Saratoga put down her cloth and turned to take the picture frame from Lexington's hands.
"Sis, when did you and your husband take this photo?"
"In Rongcheng! Didn't you take pictures with your husband too?"
"Sis, I meant wedding photos." Saratoga looked at Lexington, who was still bent over rummaging through her suitcase, and grumbled unhappily, "I did take pictures with my husband, but he wasn't in his Admiral uniform and I wasn't in a wedding dress. How can that be the same?"
"Do you even have a wedding dress?" Lexington asked without looking up.
When they were buying a car in Tongcheng, there happened to be an audio equipment store across the street. For convenience in taking photos later on, Lexington decided to buy a portable camera as well. Now that she had found Saratoga, she was putting it to use.
"I don't have one, but you do," Saratoga replied. As she placed the picture frame on the bedside table, she took out a wedding dress that Lexington had just hung in the wardrobe earlier and gestured excitedly. "Sis, our figures are similar; I can wear your wedding dress! Although it might be a bit tight around my chest, I can just use some breast pads. So Sis, can you lend me your wedding dress for a bit? I want to take new wedding photos with my husband."
"Not a chance. If you want a wedding dress, let your brother-in-law buy it for you." Without further ado, Lexington snatched the wedding dress from her sister's hands and carefully smoothed out the creases that Saratoga had just made before hanging it back in the wardrobe.
For Lexington, this wedding dress held very ordinary significance; aside from the Admiral, she didn't want anyone else to touch it, not even her own sister.
"You're stingy. It's not like I haven't worn it before."
"You still have the nerve to say that? I haven't settled the score with you yet!" Lexington pulled out a white dress from the wardrobe and held it up in front of Saratoga. "Do you recognize this dress?"
"Of course! Sister, what's wrong? Didn't you wear this dress often when you were at Naval Base?" Saratoga replied, somewhat confused.
"What's wrong? What do you think is wrong? Who was it that secretly changed into this dress while at Naval Base, dyed her hair flaxen, and smashed the windows of Prince of Wales' room with Richelieu and Fantasy?"
"Uh..."
"Why are you silent now? Weren't you quite talkative just a moment ago?" Lexington poked her sister's forehead with her finger and gritted her teeth. "You thought you could run fast enough to avoid being seen by Prince of Wales, but little did you know that Reputation was hiding in the flowerbed trimming the plants! She saw everything you did. As a result, Prince of Wales came to my office to confront me, claiming I was bullying her and that this was not the first time her room's windows had been broken. In the end, if it weren't for that traitor little Kiddo from Fantasy spilling the truth, I would have been in big trouble because of you."
"Well, sister, that incident happened a long time ago. Let's not talk about that anymore. What about brother-in-law and Richelieu? Aren't you worried?" Saratoga redirected the conversation.
"Worried about what? Hurry back to your room and go to sleep." With that, Lexington pushed her sister out of the room.
If there was anything to worry about, Lexington truly wasn't concerned at all. The ring was still at Naval Base! Even if the Admiral wanted to do something with Richelieu, she absolutely wouldn't agree until she got the ring.
In this world, Fleet Girls placed great importance on wedding rings; even if their affection for the Admiral had reached its peak, they wouldn't consider engaging in any indescribable activities with him until they received their rings.
For example, on that day in the dormitory of the kindergarten, don't be fooled by Saratoga seemingly trying to seduce Chuyang. If Chuyang really wanted to do something with Sister-in-law, it would be a different story altogether.
Moreover, if their feelings hadn't reached that stage yet, even if Admiral gave Fleet Girls a ring, Fleet Girls would still not agree to do that kind of thing with Admiral.
That's why Lexington easily agreed to let Admiral stay at Richelieu's place.
Of course, Lexington couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. During these days of travel, she had spent time alone with Admiral, but due to various concerns, they had never taken that step.
She thought that now they had finally arrived at Naval Base, a place where they would live for a long time, a "home" that completely belonged to them. It should have been natural to think about doing that kind of thing. However, due to Richelieu's sudden appearance, the night that was supposed to belong to her and Admiral was completely disrupted.
“Richelieu, I’ll let you have this one tonight, but tomorrow night…”
“Admiral, could you please remove your hand from my chest?” Richelieu's tone was slightly trembling; it was her first time being touched there by a man, and she felt quite nervous.
“Well, it was just an accidental touch.”
