Bing Tianyi met with Old Huang and inquired without saying much. He looked up at the blue sky and then asked Old Huang, "Are there any usable people around us?"
"What do you mean?" Old Huang asked curiously.
Bing Tianyi replied straightforwardly, "As long as their skills are decent, that will do."
Hearing this, Old Huang frowned and asked, "Boss Bing, are you really scared by what happened at Evergreen Mountain? We have twelve people we brought from there; I think that's more than enough."
After Old Huang finished speaking, Bing Tianyi smiled calmly and said, "Old buddy, you can trust me on this matter."
Seeing the strange smile on Bing Tianyi's face, Old Huang couldn't help but ask, "Kid, what exactly is going to happen? You should clarify things for me."
Although Bing Tianyi found it hard to believe, the scenes from his memory and a series of incidents that occurred in Lan City told him that this situation had shifted! Unfortunately, it seemed that the events from back then might very well be shifting onto himself.
If that were the case, then the twelve people around him would clearly not be enough.
However, he couldn't be a hundred percent sure right now. So when he heard Old Huang's inquiry, Bing Tianyi simply whispered to him, "For now, don't worry about too much. Once ten more people arrive, I'll figure out the arrangements."
After saying this, Bing Tianyi turned and walked out of the construction site. Seeing this, Old Huang hurriedly stepped forward and asked, "Where are you planning to go now?"
"To find someone," Bing Tianyi replied. Suddenly stopping in his tracks, he turned to look at Old Huang and said, "Old Huang, take good care of yourself during this time. Don't get hurt."
Having followed Bing Tianyi for so long, Old Huang had never seen him with such an expression. After Bing Tianyi finished speaking, Old Huang sighed and nodded in agreement.
Once outside, Bing Tianyi wasted no time and drove straight to the Lan City Public Security Bureau.
Upon arriving at the entrance of the bureau, Bing Tianyi hesitated for a moment after getting out of the car and then dialed Qin Qi's number.
"Where are you right now?" Before Qin Qi could respond, Bing Tianyi asked directly.
Qin Qi, feeling a bit curious, smiled and asked Bing Tianyi, "What's going on? Have you run into some trouble again?"
"I want to see your father now," Bing Tianyi said clearly, though his tone was filled with unease.
Upon hearing this, Qin Qi became serious and quietly asked Bing Tianyi, "Where are you right now?"
"At the entrance of the police station."
"Alright, come inside. I'll be waiting for you in the North Hall."
After hanging up, Bing Tianyi headed straight to the North Hall. When he arrived at the entrance, Qin Qi was already waiting in the lobby. Upon seeing Bing Tianyi, Qin Qi approached him with a smile and asked, "What happened?"
"Let's go. Take me to see your father," Bing Tianyi said with a worried expression and a bitter smile.
Qin Qi sighed helplessly and asked with a wry smile, "No matter what happened, you should at least tell me about it. If we go to see my father without any context, and it turns out to be something trivial, I can't guarantee that my father will want to see you again."
"Don't worry; this matter is not trivial."
Seeing that Bing Tianyi was reluctant to share the details with her, Qin Qi felt stuck. However, noticing the anxious look on Bing Tianyi's face made her realize the importance of the situation.
Thinking of this, Qin Qi whispered to Bing Tianyi, "Let's go."
When they reached the fourth floor, Bing Tianyi stood in front of Qin Tianlei's office door and glanced at Qin Qi before saying quietly, "You might want to stay out of this."
Qin Qi scoffed lightly and knocked on the door. As Qin Tianlei was reviewing some documents and saw his daughter enter with Bing Tianyi, he quickly stood up and smiled, "Ah Qi, why didn't you give me a heads-up before bringing Tianyi here?"
"He said he has something very important to report to you," Qin Qi replied with a helpless smile.
Upon hearing this, Qin Tianlei gestured for Bing Tianyi to sit down and poured a glass of water for him, placing it in front of him.
"Director Qin, please hold on for a moment. Can you let Qin Qi step out first?" Bing Tianyi said directly, looking at Qin Tianlei.
Upon hearing Bing Tianyi's words, Qin Tianlei felt a bit frustrated. He glanced at Bing Tianyi and then curiously asked, "What is it that you're being so mysterious about?"
Bing Tianyi did not elaborate but instead shifted his gaze back to Qin Qi. Seeing this, Qin Tianlei waved his hand and said, "You can go out for now."
Qin Qi shot a displeased glance at Bing Tianyi but still stepped out of the room.
Bing Tianyi stood up to close the door and then said to Qin Tianlei, "Director Qin, I want you to see something."
As he spoke, Bing Tianyi took out his phone and handed it to Qin Tianlei.
When Qin Tianlei saw the text message on Bing Tianyi's phone, he was initially taken aback but soon a faint smile appeared on his face. Sitting at his desk, he looked at Bing Tianyi and curiously asked, "Did you rush over today just for this message?"
Bing Tianyi nodded and replied, "Yes, I came specifically for this message."
"That's impossible. Our Lan City is located in the central part of Huaxia Nation. Do you think it's feasible to do such things here?" Qin Tianlei said with a smile based on his years of investigative experience.
Hearing this, Bing Tianyi looked at Qin Tianlei seriously and said, "Director Qin, I can guarantee that this matter is one hundred percent true. If we don't take action first, the security situation in Lan City will be very difficult to control."
"How can you be so sure?" When Qin Tianlei saw the serious expression on Bing Tianyi's face, he was also surprised and immediately asked.
Bing Tianyi smiled and replied to Qin Tianlei, "Director Qin, I believe you've heard about my background as well. However, I know that you probably won't believe me. But in this matter, I can stake my life as a guarantee."
Just then, the phone on Qin Tianlei's desk rang.
After answering the call, Qin Tianlei quickly smiled and said, "Xu Department Head, do you have any instructions?"
Bing Tianyi sat beside him. Although he didn't know what the other party was saying on the phone, he could tell from the expression on Qin Tianlei's face that what was being discussed was absolutely crucial.
"Alright, I understand."
After hanging up the phone, Qin Tianlei's eyes were filled with surprise as he looked at Bing Tianyi, wanting to ask something, but he quickly hesitated.
"Director Qin, I've already reported this matter to you. What you plan to do next is beyond my authority to know," Bing Tianyi said with a long sigh.
As soon as Bing Tianyi finished speaking, Qin Tianlei sighed and then said, "You guessed correctly. Also, I want to ask you, do you know anyone from Base 250?"
"Base 250? What is that for?" Bing Tianyi couldn't help but smile lightly at the strange name and asked Qin Tianlei with a chuckle.
Seeing the expression on Bing Tianyi's face, Qin Tianlei shook his head and smiled, "It's nothing. You can go now."
Bing Tianyi nodded in agreement and was just about to leave when unexpectedly, Qin Tianlei called out to him again, "Wait."
Hearing this, Bing Tianyi turned around and stood still, curiously asking Qin Tianlei, "What is it?"
"Can you handle a gun?" Qin Tianlei asked curiously.
While learning combat techniques from Old Huang, Bing Tianyi had also picked up some skills related to handling firearms. Although he wasn't very proficient, he could definitely hit a target with a handgun within fifty meters.
"Why does Director Qin ask this?"
"Just answer whether you can or cannot," Qin Tianlei asked impatiently.
"I can."
Qin Tianlei nodded and then took out a standard handgun from his drawer, along with two bullets and three magazines. He placed them in a black bag and handed it to Bing Tianyi.
Seeing this, Bing Tianyi was filled with surprise and asked, "Director Qin, what are you doing?"
Qin Tianlei glanced at Bing Tianyi and then said softly, "Although I know about this matter, I can't help much. I'll lend you this gun for now; use it for self-defense."
Upon hearing this, Bing Tianyi felt completely frustrated and looked at Qin Tianlei in disbelief, asking, "Director Qin, what do you mean? Are you joking?"
"I'm not joking. The higher-ups just notified us that the police in Lan City are not allowed to intervene," Qin Tianlei said with a bitter smile.
As soon as he finished speaking, Bing Tianyi scoffed and asked, "If the police can't intervene, do you expect me to handle it? I'm a businessman, not Ultraman maintaining world peace."
"Take the gun and be careful," Qin Tianlei said before turning his back on Bing Tianyi.
Bing Tianyi wasn't foolish enough to leave at that moment. He knew that if he went out now, it would mean he was truly caught up in the crisis from years ago. Thinking back to what happened in Lan City back then, countless police officers lost their lives, and how could someone who had just come of age like him deal with those people?
Realizing this, Bing Tianyi decided to sit on Qin Tianlei's desk and looked at him, saying, "Director Qin, if you don't explain this matter clearly to me, I don't think I can bring myself to leave."
"How would I know? Five of them came to Lan City; I have no idea what they plan to do. The higher-ups told me not to get involved. Whoever reports it gets a gun to handle it themselves; I can only follow orders," Qin Tianlei replied, turning around with a troubled expression.
Bing Tianyi felt utterly defeated. Sitting on the desk, he stared at Qin Tianlei for a few moments before cursing, "You give me that bastard's name and a gun. Do you really think I'm invincible? Yes, there are only five of them, but you know their strength as well. Expecting me to confront them with my current limited abilities is just ridiculous!"
"That's how it is; saying too much won't help. If you run out of bullets, feel free to come find me! You should leave quickly," Qin Tianlei said quietly.
Bing Tianyi began to ponder internally. Given the current situation, it seemed he had no choice but to face them head-on.
However, thinking about it made Bing Tianyi feel incredibly frustrated. Elemental Envoy—he hadn't offended them in any way! Why were they coming after him?
