Bing Tianyi turned his head and glared at Old Huang. Seeing the expression on Bing Tianyi's face, Old Huang immediately picked up his chopsticks and started eating.
At this moment, both Bing Tianyi and Mei Yuan fell silent. It wasn't until five or six minutes later that Mei Yuan finally whispered to Bing Tianyi, "So what do you think I should do now?"
After a brief consideration, Bing Tianyi realized that he was somewhat at fault in this matter as well.
"Alright, things have already come to this point. You should really think carefully before acting in the future. Don't just act recklessly without considering the consequences," Bing Tianyi advised seriously.
Upon hearing this, Mei Yuan nodded in agreement, looking like a child who had done something wrong.
Bing Tianyi felt helpless. He recalled how he felt when he invited Mei Yuan out; he had wanted nothing more than to slap her twice for her behavior. But now, he had softened.
Mei Yuan felt secretly pleased. She had thought she would be severely criticized by Bing Tianyi, but to her surprise, it was resolved so quickly.
However, even though Mei Yuan was happy inside, she did not show her feelings on her face and sat still in her chair with a sorrowful expression.
The meal soon came to an end. After seeing that there was still a lot of uneaten food on the table, Bing Tianyi escorted Mei Yuan out and returned to pack up the leftovers. Once in the car, he helplessly asked Old Huang, "Old Huang, how are you feeling? Are you happy?"
In fact, Bing Tianyi had noticed Old Huang's gloating expression when he was preparing to send Mei Yuan off. Now that they were in the car and seeing Old Huang's smile again, he couldn't help but ask.
Old Huang, upon hearing this, wiped the smile off his face and said directly to Bing Tianyi, "Boss Bing, it seems I need to congratulate you."

Seeing Bing Tianyi's angry expression, Old Huang couldn't help but chuckle and said to him, "Come on, kid. A beautiful girl like that has taken a liking to you; aren't you happy?"
Of course, Old Huang was just joking. He understood that if someone like Mei Yuan truly ended up with Bing Tianyi, it would ultimately lead to trouble for him. From this incident alone, Old Huang could see that Mei Yuan harbored a lot of resentment inside; she would go to any lengths to get what she wanted.
Bing Tianyi, deep down, was still too kind-hearted. This wasn't the main issue; being kind was one thing, but the most important part was that this guy was also quite lecherous. If such a man were to live with Mei Yuan, it would be fine as long as there were no conflicts. However, if conflicts did arise, it could become troublesome.
After hearing Old Huang's words, Bing Tianyi could guess what Old Huang was about to say. He smiled lightly and said, "Haha, you have a point. Mei Yuan is indeed quite attractive. How about I introduce her to you? Then you can show off in front of Yi Hanqing."
Upon hearing Yi Hanqing's name, Old Huang immediately lost interest in continuing the conversation. With a somewhat displeased expression, he whispered to Bing Tianyi, "Boss Bing, stop joking around. I'm already in a mess; if another Mei Yuan comes along, you might as well just let me jump off a building."
Bing Tianyi chuckled a couple of times and then looked at Old Huang and asked, "So how are things between you and Yi Hanqing?"
Old Huang sighed helplessly and started chatting with Bing Tianyi while Bing Tianyi listened with great interest.
Just as the car was about to reach the construction site, Bing Tianyi's phone rang again. After answering the call, before he could ask anything, Mo Yonggang's voice came through filled with helplessness. "Boss Bing, you need to come over quickly; something has happened here."
Hearing this, Bing Tianyi quickly asked, "What happened?"
"You should just hurry over; you'll know when you get here," Mo Yonggang replied on the other end of the line, his tone filled with urgency.
At the same time, Bing Tianyi could hear the noise coming from Mo Yonggang's side of the call.
Bing Tianyi nodded in agreement and hung up the phone. He turned to Old Huang and said directly, "Drive faster; something has happened at the construction site."
Old Huang nodded and pressed down on the accelerator while curiously asking Bing Tianyi, "What happened?"
Bing Tianyi shrugged with a bitter smile and said, "How would I know?"
Before long, they arrived at the entrance of the construction site. From a distance, Bing Tianyi noticed that there were actually hundreds of people gathered at the entrance. Seeing so many people there gave him an ominous feeling.
After getting out of the car and before Bing Tianyi could approach the crowd, a middle-aged man shouted loudly from within the group, "Their boss is here! Let's go confront him!"
Bing Tianyi furrowed his brows, observing the attire of the people around him. They didn’t look like workers from the construction site; instead, they resembled local residents. But what could these residents want from him?
While he was contemplating, the group had already surrounded Bing Tianyi. The middle-aged man who had spoken earlier pushed through the crowd and glared at Bing Tianyi, demanding, “Are you Bing? What’s going on here?”
Seeing the intense anger on the man's face, Bing Tianyi initially thought someone from his construction site had made a serious mistake. He curiously asked, “Excuse me, did we do something wrong?”
The man, upon hearing this, shouted furiously, “Don’t you know what you’ve done wrong? I want to ask you, where is this place?”
“What’s the matter?” Bing Tianyi still felt confused and asked the man.
Without hesitation, the man yelled back at Bing Tianyi, “Look around! This is the city center. Your construction site is here; isn’t that disturbing the residents? The noise at night is so loud; do you expect us to rest properly?”
Realizing what the man meant, Bing Tianyi quickly understood that these people were not there to resolve an issue but rather to cause trouble.
Even if his construction site were silent, the sounds of cars on the street and various urban noises would still persist at night. Moreover, to ensure that workers could rest well, they generally didn’t work overtime in the evenings. Only occasionally would they extend a few hours when pouring concrete out of necessity.
Understanding their intentions, Bing Tianyi smiled wryly at the crowd and asked, “I say, folks, do you think if we stop work at our construction site, you won’t hear any other noise?”
The crowd paused for a moment after hearing this. However, the leading middle-aged man quickly replied, “Are you trying to argue with us? Let me tell you straight: we’ve lived here for many years and have gotten used to other noises. It’s just your construction site’s noise that we can’t tolerate.”
“So how do you plan to handle this?” Bing Tianyi asked with a smile.
“It’s simple: either compensate us for emotional distress or stop work immediately,” the middle-aged man continued to shout.
Bing Tianyi chuckled; he knew that situations like this were often about money.
Thinking along those lines, Bing Tianyi then asked with a grin, “So how much do you think is appropriate?”
"You are making so much noise that we definitely can't work every day. Isn't it reasonable to compensate us with double our monthly salary?" The man looked at Bing Tianyi, speaking arrogantly.
Bing Tianyi thought for a moment and nodded in agreement, "Alright, starting today, you won't have to come to work. I'll pay you your salaries. Tomorrow, bring your salary certificates from your respective units, and also a few copies of the pay slips from your previous salaries for me to verify before I issue your payments."
Old Huang, standing nearby, was astonished and glanced at Bing Tianyi, thinking to himself, "Is this guy crazy? Does he really think he has that much money?"
The group was also surprised; they had expected Bing Tianyi might choose to halt work and negotiate with them, but they didn't anticipate him agreeing so readily.
Since the other party had agreed, they had nothing more to say and felt secretly pleased that they could get more money.
Seeing the happy expressions on the crowd's faces, Bing Tianyi smiled and said, "Dear uncles and aunts, I apologize for the inconvenience our construction team has caused you. Starting tomorrow, you can come to me to sign an agreement. If our construction site gets noisy in the future, I hope you can understand."
Upon hearing this, the crowd realized that the construction site wasn't actually that noisy; it was just occasionally when they worked overtime that faint engine sounds could be heard. Generally, after seven in the evening, work would stop. During the day, the noise from the construction site hardly reached their ears; they mostly heard car horns instead.
Once Bing Tianyi finished speaking, the crowd nodded and quickly disappeared from in front of him.
After they left completely, Bing Tianyi turned to Mo Yonggang, who was approaching, and said directly, "Manager Mo, please prepare an agreement for me to write up later and print out a thousand copies. Also, have the other contractors arrange for our site to operate in two shifts starting tomorrow—working both day and night."
Mo Yonggang immediately understood Bing Tianyi's intention upon hearing this and approached with a sly smile, asking, "Boss Bing, are we renting a few powerful cranes? They will definitely come in handy these days."
"Yes, we can do that. Also get excavators and everything else ready; not a single one should be idle," Bing Tianyi replied with a wry smile. Since they were being unreasonable, he could only respond in kind.
