Of course, in this situation, not only was Bing Tianyi feeling upset, but Murong Qing in his arms was even less pleased. She widened her eyes and stared intently at Bing Tianyi.
Bing Tianyi answered the phone and asked in a low voice, "Who is it?"
"Little brother, now that you've become the boss, your temper seems to have gotten quite big?" On the other end of the line was Bai Jie’s voice.
Bing Tianyi was taken aback upon hearing this. He thought to himself that since he started his business, Bai Jie had rarely contacted him. But why was she suddenly calling him tonight?
With curiosity in his heart, Bing Tianyi softened his tone and cheerfully explained, "Sister Bai, what made you think of calling me? Sorry, I didn’t realize it was you. Did you change your number?"
"It’s fine. Do you have time right now? I need you to help me with something," Bai Jie said with a soft laugh on the other end of the line.
Bing Tianyi glanced at Murong Qing standing beside him and thought about how he had just started dating her and was looking forward to spending the night together. Now she wanted him to go out? Did he even have time for that?
Before Bing Tianyi could say he wouldn’t go, Murong Qing quietly said to him, "Just tell her you don’t have time."
"Sister Bai, I'm really sorry, but I probably won’t be free tonight," Bing Tianyi awkwardly smiled at Bai Jie.
As soon as he finished speaking, Bai Jie teased, "Alright, you and your girlfriend have plenty of time to play together. Hurry over here; I have something important to discuss with you. If your girlfriend is worried, she can come along too."
Hearing this made Bing Tianyi speechless; this woman actually knew what he was doing right now!
With no other choice, Bing Tianyi forced a smile and said, "Alright then, where should I go?"
"Just come to Starlight Club," Bai Jie said directly. After a moment of thought, she suddenly changed her mind and laughed, "Forget it; just wait for me at Golden Flower. I'll come find you."
Bing Tianyi nodded in agreement. After hanging up the phone, he sat down in a chair and poured himself a glass of liquor, taking a sip. He murmured softly to himself, "What could she possibly want from me?"
At that moment, Murong Qing stepped forward and looked at Bing Tianyi, whose face was filled with worry. She curiously asked, "What’s going on?"
Bing Tianyi forced a smile and said, "This matter has nothing to do with you. Just keep quiet for a while."
"What happened? You look like it's something serious," Murong Qing whispered.
Bing Tianyi sighed, "To be honest, I have a very strange feeling about Bai Jie. If I say she's a good person, it doesn't quite fit. If I say she's a bad person, there's no evidence."
Of course, Bing Tianyi said this, but he knew deep down that these were not the main points. The real issue was that in the past few years of his life in the county town, he had never thought about how formidable a woman named Bai Jie could be.
The only people he knew were Big Head, Crow, and Qiangzi.
Now Big Head was dead, and Qiangzi had been arrested by the police. Only Crow remained, and their relationship was still quite good. Bing Tianyi even felt that in the future, he might hand over the management of the underground forces here to Crow.
But Bai Jie, this mysterious woman, even Crow showed her some respect. What exactly was her identity?
"Not simple, definitely not simple!" Bing Tianyi thought to himself as he muttered under his breath.
Murong Qing had never seen Bing Tianyi in such a distracted state before. After hearing his words, she widened her eyes and quickly asked him, "What’s going on? Is this woman a threat to you?"
"Not exactly," Bing Tianyi shook his head. After saying this, he looked at Murong Qing and curiously asked, "Have you heard anything about Bai Jie while you were in the county town?"
"Not really," Murong Qing replied. She had been studying out of town for the past few years and naturally knew little about what was happening in the county.
Bing Tianyi thought for a long time but still had no clue. He simply stood up and smiled at Murong Qing, saying, "When soldiers come, we block them; when water comes, we dam it."
Seeing the smile on Bing Tianyi's face, Murong Qing directly asked with a laugh, "Aren't you good at divination? Why don't you read your fortune?"
Bing Tianyi revealed a bitter smile and helplessly said to Murong Qing, "Although I can read fortunes, I can't read my own."
As the two were conversing, a slow and steady knock sounded at the door. Bing Tianyi stood up and walked to the door, opening it to reveal Bai Jie, who was followed by two men in black, their faces stern. However, Bai Jie wore a comforting smile as she said to Bing Tianyi, "President Bing, what a pleasant mood you’re in."
Bing Tianyi forced a smile and replied, "Sister Bai, please come in."
Bai Jie entered the room while the two men in black remained at the doorway, not stepping inside.
Once Bai Jie sat down, Bing Tianyi turned to Murong Qing beside him and said with a smile, "Have the waiter come in to clear this table and bring new dishes."
Just as he finished speaking, Bai Jie waved her hand and said with a smile, "That won't be necessary. I'm here just to discuss something with you."
"What is it?" Bing Tianyi asked curiously.
Bai Jie smiled sweetly and replied, "I said whether you do it or not is no longer up to you."
Upon hearing this, Bing Tianyi was taken aback. What does she mean by that? Isn’t it coercive to say that whether I do it or not is not my decision?
Before Bing Tianyi could respond, Murong Qing stepped forward and asked Bai Jie directly, "Excuse me, miss, what exactly do you mean? Are you trying to restrict my boyfriend's personal freedom?"
"Hehe, Miss Murong, don’t misunderstand," Bai Jie said with a smile before looking at Bing Tianyi and whispering, "President Bing, you see..."
Seeing Bai Jie’s expression, Bing Tianyi waved his hand to Murong Qing and said with a smile, "Alright, just wait outside for a few minutes. Don’t worry; everything will be fine."
Although Murong Qing felt displeased, she nodded in agreement and turned to leave the room.
Once Murong Qing was out the door, Bing Tianyi approached and closed it behind her. He then quietly asked, "Sister Bai, now you can tell me what’s going on."
"I heard that President Bing has some divination skills; I wonder if that’s true?" Bai Jie asked with a smile as she picked up a glass of white wine, sniffed it, and set it back down on the table before curiously looking at Bing Tianyi.
Bing Tianyi finally relaxed; he had thought Bai Jie was planning something serious. It turned out she just wanted him for divination? Realizing this, Bing Tianyi smiled and said directly, "I do know a bit about that. What would you like me to help you with?"
Bai Jie smiled and waved her hand, saying, "Don't rush into this. I just want to ask President Bing, between you and Qidaxian, who is more capable?"
"What aspect are you referring to?" Bing Tianyi asked curiously.
"Of course, in terms of divination," Bai Jie replied straightforwardly.
Upon hearing this, Bing Tianyi shook her head and said, "I'm not sure about that since we haven't had a proper competition together. However, I think Qidaxian should be a bit stronger than me."
Bing Tianyi understood that in their line of work, the most taboo thing was comparing oneself with peers. This wasn't an ancestral rule but rather a caution against falling into disputes that could lead to dire consequences, which would harm one's moral standing.
"If I wanted you to compare with Qidaxian, would you be willing, President Bing?" Bai Jie continued to smile as she asked.
Bing Tianyi was completely stunned by this. The police didn't even know where Qidaxian was, but looking at Bai Jie's expression, she seemed to know Qidaxian's whereabouts.
"What's wrong? Sister Bai, do you know where Qidaxian is?" Bing Tianyi asked excitedly.
"First, will you agree to the comparison?" Bai Jie's smile remained unchanged as she looked at Bing Tianyi and asked cheerfully.
Bing Tianyi realized that Qidaxian had already started opposing her before. If Qidaxian really managed to escape, who knew when this old rival would stab her in the back again?
Since Bai Jie knew the other party's location, it would be wise to agree for now. Once she figured out where Qidaxian was, she could inform the police and capture Qidaxian to eliminate future troubles.
Thinking of this, Bing Tianyi nodded and smiled, "As long as Sister Bai knows where Qidaxian is, I think a simple comparison wouldn't be a problem."
Upon hearing this, Bai Jie cheerfully said, "Great! Then it's settled. Come with me now."
With that, Bai Jie stood up and walked toward the door.
Seeing this situation, Bing Tianyi quickly smiled at Bai Jie and said, "Sister Bai, are we competing tonight? Don't we need to wait for another day?"
Bai Jie didn't think much and said directly, "Yes, tonight."
The two of them went out, and Murong Qing was anxiously waiting at the door. When she saw Bing Tianyi come out, she quickly asked, "How is it? Are you okay?"
Bing Tianyi smiled calmly and said, "Don't worry, I'm fine. It's getting late; why don't you head home first?"
Bing Tianyi said this with some concern for Murong Qing. After all, the smile on Bai Jie's face earlier made Bing Tianyi feel a bit uneasy. It seemed that something else would definitely happen tonight.
Seeing that Bing Tianyi wanted her to go back, Murong Qing thought Bai Jie was taking Bing Tianyi to do something and said a bit emotionally, "Bing Tianyi, no matter where you go tonight, I want to go with you."
Upon hearing this, Bai Jie, who was walking ahead, turned around and smiled, "Boss Bing, take her along; otherwise, she won't be able to sleep tonight."
Bing Tianyi smiled wryly and nodded. Once he got closer to Murong Qing, he whispered, "If anything unexpected happens tonight, you need to leave first, okay?"
Murong Qing didn't understand what Bing Tianyi meant by this and stood still, curiously staring at him. Bing Tianyi smiled and shook his head, pulling Murong Qing to follow Bai Jie out.
Bai Jie's car was parked at the door. After getting in the car, Bing Tianyi couldn't help but ask curiously, "Sister Bai, where is Qidaxian right now?"
Bai Jie smiled lightly and said, "Don't ask too much; you'll know when we get there."
