Bing Tianyi's actions today are quite simple to understand. First of all, Bing Tianyi knows the hardships faced by Migrant Workers. They do the hardest jobs and earn genuine sweat money to support their families. If they work outside, they often lack even the most basic guarantees regarding meals, which is the greatest misfortune for Migrant Workers.
Secondly, it concerns the core of the Construction Company.
As a Construction Company, factors like funding may not be the most important; what matters most is having capable Migrant Workers. If a Construction Company has money but cannot find a few willing to work hard, it will surely collapse in no time.
If there are issues with meal provisions that cannot be guaranteed, then whether the Migrant Workers will return next year after working this year remains uncertain.
Bing Tianyi thought to himself that after finishing with Chu Zhang, he would look at Chu Zhang and say clearly, "Come to my office tomorrow morning."
Chu Zhang felt helpless; after all, this situation was his fault. He had withheld nearly thirty percent of the meal expenses each month. If this were discovered and Bing Tianyi decided to sue him, it would not just be a simple slap on the wrist.
Chu Zhang nodded. Bing Tianyi glanced at the group of Migrant Workers before speaking loudly and firmly: "Dear uncles and aunts, I, Bing Tianyi, as the person in charge of this Construction Company, would like to apologize to everyone in front of you."
After saying this, Bing Tianyi bowed deeply. Upon rising, he continued: "Recently, I have been quite busy outside and thought that I had arranged meal provisions with every responsible person below me. I did not expect such things to happen. I assure you that from now on, our Construction Company will not have such issues. If your meals do not meet the company's standards, you can come to me anytime. If the situation is true, I will not only not blame them but also reward them with five hundred yuan."
After hearing this from Bing Tianyi, smiles instantly appeared on the faces of the workers. An older middle-aged man stepped forward and said to Bing Tianyi: "Mr. Bing, we are already very happy to hear this from you. Actually, we can manage with meals; after all, we are just workers and did not expect much from our food."
Upon hearing this, Bing Tianyi felt a pang of sadness in his heart. He never imagined that these workers would have such thoughts. Clearly, this situation had not arisen overnight.
"This uncle, you are mistaken; although you are workers, you sweat for your own livelihood and are no less than anyone else. You are also human beings and deserve to enjoy the same treatment as others. Of course, I understand that at the Construction Site, some conditions cannot meet everyone's needs, but when it comes to meals, we must do what is right." Bing Tianyi said earnestly.
Upon hearing these words from Bing Tianyi, tears suddenly glistened in the middle-aged man's eyes as he quietly replied: "Mr. Bing, I don't even know what to say."
Hearing this, Bing Tianyi sighed inwardly. He stepped forward into the crowd of workers and quietly asked: "Where is your dormitory?"
A few workers stepped forward and pointed to a two-story building not far ahead: "It's right there."
Bing Tianyi walked towards the Migrant Workers' Dormitory. After a few minutes, he arrived at the entrance of the Migrant Workers' Dormitory, located next to the Main Kitchen. Pushing open the door revealed three large rooms with bunk beds lined up on either side. As Bing Tianyi approached the nearest door, despite it being spring, an unpleasant odor wafted through.
Bing Tianyi frowned and turned to ask several employees who followed him: "How many of you live in this room?"
"Thirty-two people," a man behind him whispered.
As soon as he finished speaking, Bing Tianyi asked in surprise, "How many?"
"Thirty-two people." After a brief pause, the man continued, "Originally, there were forty-three of us in this room, but thirteen said it was too noisy and went to other sites."
"Then why didn't you leave?" Bing Tianyi asked.
"We haven't received our wages yet," the man replied honestly.
"What? How long has it been since you got paid?" Bing Tianyi was taken aback; he never expected such a situation to arise in his company.
After hearing this, the man thought for a moment before saying, "When we arrived, the first month's wages were treated as a deposit. If we leave before the project ends, we won't get the deposit back."
"Whose idea was that?" Bing Tianyi asked curiously.
"The foreman said it was the company's policy when hiring," the man continued.
Bing Tianyi was thoroughly enraged. Without thinking much, he paced around in frustration. Then he looked at Old Huang and said directly, "Go to finance now and get twenty thousand yuan. Give each worker here twenty yuan so they can have dinner at a restaurant tonight."
Old Huang nodded. Bing Tianyi then squatted on the bed and, after a few minutes, dialed Mo Yonggang's number.
"Have all the foremen and company leaders come to Chu Zhang's Worker Dormitory right now," Bing Tianyi instructed Mo Yonggang.
Mo Yonggang asked curiously, "President Bing, what happened?"
Bing Tianyi didn't elaborate and simply said, "Just bring them over."
Mo Yonggang agreed with a nod. Bing Tianyi then called Murong Qing to prepare twenty thousand in cash to hand over to Old Huang later.
Once everything was arranged, Bing Tianyi continued to wait.
About half an hour had passed when Mo Yonggang arrived with more than twenty people in front of the employee dormitory under Chu Zhang's supervision.
Bing Tianyi stepped out and glanced at the group of responsible individuals from his company, asking directly, "Where are the others?"
"A few are still busy outside and haven't come yet," Mo Yonggang replied quietly.
Bing Tianyi nodded, frowning as he coldly said, "Follow me."
Some of the responsible individuals were aware of what had happened and followed Bing Tianyi to the entrance of the Main Kitchen, where everyone stopped. Bing Tianyi addressed a few Migrant Workers standing nearby, saying, "Go inside and serve each of them a bowl of rice."
The Migrant Workers, looking at Bing Tianyi with curiosity, asked, "Boss Bing, where should we serve from?"
"Serve from wherever you usually eat," Bing Tianyi replied clearly.
The Migrant Workers exchanged glances before entering the kitchen to scoop out bowls of spoiled rice from the container at the entrance for their leaders. Bing Tianyi also took a bowl for himself, picked up his chopsticks, and said quietly, "Follow me."
After bringing the group of responsible individuals to the employee dormitory, Bing Tianyi sat on a nearby bed and said softly, "This meal is my treat today. Try it and see how it differs from what I treated you to at Golden Flower a few days ago."
Among them were two women who, upon entering the Worker Dormitory, were so repulsed by the smell that they couldn't even think about eating; they quickly ran out with their bowls.
Bing Tianyi didn't think much of it; he frowned and began eating the spoiled rice bite by bite.
Perhaps only by doing this could Bing Tianyi remember this incident for life and remind himself to be vigilant against such occurrences in the future.
The group of responsible individuals watched Bing Tianyi eat in shock. Only Mo Yonggang picked up his chopsticks and started eating when he saw Bing Tianyi.
After a moment, Bing Tianyi set down his bowl and chopsticks and curiously asked the group, "Why aren't you all eating?"
"Boss Bing, we know we were wrong," another contractor named Sky said with his head down.
"Hah, wrong! Do you even know where you went wrong? Are our company's rules just for show? You need to clarify today who is responsible for the dormitory and meals being like this. If you confess now, everything can be discussed easily. But if I find out later during my investigation, I will get to the bottom of this," Bing Tianyi said before throwing his bowl on the ground.
At this moment, Mo Yonggang stood up and looked at Bing Tianyi, saying softly, "Mr. Bing, I take primary responsibility for this matter. As the manager of the Construction Company, I did not prioritize the food and accommodation issues of the migrant workers. This is my fault."
"Don't speak yet; I will discuss your issues with you later," Bing Tianyi replied directly.
Just after he finished speaking, Bing Tianyi's phone rang unexpectedly. He stood up to answer it and curiously asked Duck Brother on the other end, "What's going on?"
"Brother Bing, I found the information on Qi Xin," Duck Brother said excitedly.
Upon hearing this, Bing Tianyi quietly instructed Duck Brother, "Wait for me in my office."
Duck Brother agreed, and after hanging up, Bing Tianyi looked at the people in front of him and continued to ask, "Now tell me, whose worker dormitory and food situation is like this?"
At that moment, Sky stepped forward and helplessly said to Bing Tianyi, "Mr. Bing, this has been the status quo in the construction industry from the beginning; we can't change it."
"Haha, what status quo are you talking about? Is it that over forty people are living in the same dormitory? Or that workers are being fed spoiled rice?" Bing Tianyi asked curiously while trying to suppress his anger towards Sky.
To be honest, Bing Tianyi regularly reviewed the company's accounts and had his own budget for the food expenses of each construction site as well as the accommodation costs for employees on-site.
Moreover, the regulations of his Construction Company were reformed after discussions between him and Mo Yonggang. Previously, each contractor operated as a private entity; their Construction Company could only inspect project quality and had no authority over migrant workers' wages. However, after the reform, as long as the Construction Company assigned work to these contractors, then the workers under those contractors and the contractors themselves would be considered employees of their Construction Company.
As a result, the Construction Company would be responsible for these migrant workers internally. This not only ensured protection for the migrant workers but also reflected their accountability to the company.
However, it was unexpected that such loopholes would arise under this system.
