Bing Tianyi smiled wryly and said, "You two have your own matters to attend to, so you can't go. Ouyang Xukong definitely can't go either; he stands out too much and is easy to spot. We need to find a few newly emerged thugs. Let me be clear, this task is very difficult, and if it’s not handled properly, it could lead to fatalities."
"What? Big Brother, you’re not joking, are you?" Duck Brother asked, unable to hide his surprise.
Bing Tianyi replied helplessly, "Who would joke about something like this? I'm serious. The four people we send out need to be divided into two groups to monitor Qiangzi. They must report back to me every night about where he goes and who he meets."
"Brother Bing, are we planning to take action against Qiangzi?" Duck Brother asked in a low voice.
Bing Tianyi wasn't that foolish; taking action against Qiangzi now would only waste manpower and resources. The police were already involved—did they still need to act?
Moreover, given their current capabilities, it was indeed a bit risky to confront Qiangzi. After all, Qiangzi's influence in the county was deeply rooted, and most of his underlings were quite young. Bing Tianyi knew well the impulsiveness of these Young Men. If a few easily swayed kids were convinced by Qiangzi and decided to strike with a knife when he wasn't paying attention, it would spell trouble.
What they were doing was merely assisting the police to ensure that everything went smoothly.
Thinking of this, Bing Tianyi calmly said, "Of course not. Just follow my instructions, and there will definitely be good news."
"Big Brother, I thought about it; we can't use the people from the company right now. How about we use a few of your younger brothers from school?" Duck Brother suggested with a low laugh.
Bing Tianyi firmly replied, "No way. Ever since I left school, I haven't considered using those brothers I made there. They each have their own matters to deal with and absolutely shouldn't get involved in societal issues."
Seeing the angry expression on Bing Tianyi's face, Duck Brother awkwardly said, "Sorry, Brother Bing. I was just joking around."
"Joking is not acceptable either," Bing Tianyi frowned.
For Bing Tianyi, this was undoubtedly his bottom line. After all, those brothers from school were not suitable for involvement in such matters from any perspective. Moreover, Chen Qian's death had already caused him immense pain; if one of his school brothers were to die because of his issues, Bing Tianyi would rather stab himself than let that happen.
"Alright, I understand. Then I'll go find some people with the Rat now," Duck Brother nodded.
"Go ahead, the faster the better," Bing Tianyi waved.
Duck Brother nodded in agreement, while Bing Tianyi sat in his chair, suddenly recalling those brothers from school: Wang Peng, Wu Zhaojun, Zhao Qiang, Pang Yu...
Thinking about it, he realized he hadn't seen them for a long time. He had seen them at his wedding, but on that busy day, he hardly had the chance to greet these brothers. Ever since Chen Qian passed away, Bing Tianyi had been immersed in grief, and with all the company matters and issues at the Brick Factory keeping him busy, he hadn't had time to reach out.
Calculating it seriously, it had been almost half a month since these guys started school.
Lost in thought, Bing Tianyi got up from his chair, dressed quickly, and headed out toward the school.
Before long, Bing Tianyi arrived at the school gate, where the guard did not stop him. It was precisely twelve twenty in the afternoon, and all the students were in the cafeteria eating.
Going directly to the cafeteria would be inappropriate. After a brief consideration, Bing Tianyi turned toward the dormitory building and arrived at Old Huang's room door. He knocked gently.
Old Huang shouted from inside, "Who is it? Why aren't you resting in your dormitory at this hour? Looking for a fight?"
"Teacher Huang, it's me," Bing Tianyi chuckled to himself as he replied.
Upon hearing this voice, Old Huang felt something was off. He got up to open the door and when he saw Bing Tianyi, his expression changed abruptly. He immediately smiled and said, "I was just saying, Bing Tianyi, you leave school and never come back to check on us? Have you become so impressive now that you're a big boss?"
"Don't make a fuss; what big boss am I? Besides, I'm here to see you today," Bing Tianyi replied candidly with a smile.
"Come in," Old Huang stepped aside and said to Bing Tianyi.
After entering the room, Bing Tianyi glanced at Old Huang's desk. This old fellow was actually reading those unseemly books again.
"Old Huang, do you find it interesting to look at that thing every day?" Bing Tianyi asked curiously, glancing at the books on Old Huang's desk.
"Whether it's interesting or not, just take a look and you'll know," Old Huang replied with a hint of meaning.
Bing Tianyi shook his head and laughed, "Forget it, if I had that much free time, I'd go find some girls." As he spoke, Bing Tianyi sat down in a chair.
"You silly boy, there are treasures in books and beauties within them. If you don't understand this, what are you even reading for?" Old Huang said as he put away his book and stuffed it into a drawer.
Upon hearing this, Bing Tianyi nearly burst out laughing; he really didn't expect such an interpretation.
After chatting for a moment, Bing Tianyi directly asked Old Huang, "How are my brothers doing now?"
"Don't mention it," Old Huang suddenly straightened his face and sighed helplessly.
Seeing this, Bing Tianyi thought his subordinates must have done something wrong and quickly asked, "What's going on? Are they still messing around like before?"
"I've had enough. I've been at this school for at least seven or eight years. This kind of situation has never happened before. Ever since you came last time to sort out the school's issues, everything has been orderly. Especially Wu Zhaojun and Chen Tian; everyone knows how they used to be in school. And now? They’ve actually started focusing on their studies," Old Huang said dejectedly.
Seeing Old Huang's expression, Bing Tianyi was puzzled and curiously asked, "What's wrong with you? Aren't you happy?"
"Happy? How can I be happy? Now I don’t even have to manage the students at night; they go to bed on time. Tell me, what’s the point of me being here?" Old Huang sighed helplessly.
At this moment, Bing Tianyi found Old Huang quite endearing. If someone else were in such a pleasant situation, they would surely be overjoyed, but unexpectedly he seemed somewhat displeased.
"If you think school is boring, I'm short on hands at my construction site. Why not come work with me?" Bing Tianyi teased.
To his surprise, Old Huang took it seriously and looked at Bing Tianyi earnestly asking, "Are you serious? You're not joking with me?"
"Wait, you really shouldn't take it seriously. I was just joking," Bing Tianyi quickly explained upon seeing the other person ask so earnestly.
"I don't care; you were the one who brought it up. I'm resigning this afternoon, and tomorrow I'll report to your company. You can decide what position to give me," Old Huang said, then turned back to his book without a second thought.
Bing Tianyi was completely speechless. Although Old Huang could definitely handle the work on the construction site, it seemed inappropriate to have someone like him just carrying bricks there.
After pondering for a moment, Bing Tianyi frowned and asked, "Do you have a driver's license?"
"Of course," Old Huang nodded.
"Alright then, we have a tractor at the Brick Factory that needs a driver. You can drive it after you report to my company tomorrow," Bing Tianyi said with a grin.
Old Huang's expression didn't change at all as he smiled and replied, "Sure, driving a tractor is definitely more interesting than being in this lousy place."
"Wait, are you really planning to drive a tractor at the Brick Factory?" Bing Tianyi nearly spat blood; he couldn't understand what this old guy was thinking.
This was typical of Old Huang's personality. On one hand, he spent every day with the students at school; on the other hand, he had grown accustomed to being carefree. He did whatever he wanted and absolutely hated doing nothing every day. To him, being idle was just wasting life.
Before long, it was 12:40 PM, and the students hurried upstairs after lunch for their afternoon nap.
As expected, the situation was much like what Old Huang had described. Once they got upstairs, the students' mouths seemed to be zipped shut; even those who spoke did so in hushed tones.
Seeing this, Bing Tianyi felt there was nothing to worry about. He waited until all the students had entered their dorms to rest before turning to Old Huang with a smile and saying, "Alright then, see you tomorrow."
"Aren't you going to check on your brothers?" Old Huang asked curiously.
"No, they're doing just fine as they are now. I don't want to disturb them while they're studying hard at school," Bing Tianyi replied before pushing the door open and stepping out.
Stepping out of the campus, just as he exited the gate, Bing Tianyi was taken aback to see Gao Pengjun with a bruised face standing in front of him.
Seeing this scene, Bing Tianyi quickly approached, filled with curiosity, and asked Gao Pengjun, "Teacher Gao, what happened? How did you end up like this?"
Upon hearing Bing Tianyi's words, Gao Pengjun hurriedly smiled and said, "Brother Bing, what brings you to school today? Come on, let’s go sit in my office."
"No thanks, I have some things to take care of. But what happened to your face? Who did this to you?" Bing Tianyi continued to inquire.
Gao Pengjun sighed and said quietly, "Forget it, there's nothing much to say."
"How can you say that? Someone dared to lay hands on my teacher! Tell me who it is; I’ll take you to find him," Bing Tianyi said with a frown, his voice filled with righteous anger.
"Forget it, it's not worth the trouble," Gao Pengjun replied, feeling helpless. His wife had been unfaithful, and he didn't even know which jerk had called him about it. When he went to confront them, he caught them in the act but hadn’t even had a chance to retaliate before he was beaten up.
Such matters are hard for any man to discuss.
Bing Tianyi didn’t know the full story at this point, but seeing the anger in Gao Pengjun's eyes made him certain that there was more to this situation.
On one hand, he wanted to ask about Wang Peng and the others' academic performance; on the other hand, he felt the need to apologize for his previous actions towards Gao Pengjun. After Gao Pengjun finished speaking, Bing Tianyi lowered his voice and said, "Alright, let’s not talk about this for now. There’s a small restaurant across the street; let’s go in and sit for a while."
