The next day, Bing Tianyi made a phone call to briefly arrange matters outside of school with Nan Hao, and then he called Chen Huaqiang to inform him that the guarantee had been secured and everything would proceed smoothly next Monday.
After taking care of everything, Bing Tianyi hurried back to school.
To be honest, after several weeks away from school, he felt a bit unfamiliar as he stepped onto the campus. Once inside, he headed to the Disciplinary Office to find Wang Bing. After a brief conversation, Bing Tianyi made his way to the classroom.
Around ten in the morning, if Bing Tianyi guessed correctly, it should be math class. He didn't plan to enter, but unexpectedly, as he reached the classroom door, he saw Wan Ying walking towards him.
Wan Ying was also surprised to see Bing Tianyi and waved for him to come over. He quickly approached her and smiled, asking, "How have you been lately, Teacher?"
"Ha ha, I'm fine. Hurry up and go to class. Come to my office for dinner after school," Wan Ying said seriously to Bing Tianyi.
Bing Tianyi intended to chat a bit longer outside before entering, but since Wan Ying said that, he could only nod in agreement.
At the classroom door, Bing Tianyi knocked and announced his presence. Inside, Gao Pengjun glanced at him and said softly, "Come in."
Bing Tianyi entered the classroom under the gaze of all his classmates. When he reached his seat and sat down, unlike before, he took out his Book of Changes and began reading it earnestly.
Of course, he was quite confident about this upcoming exam. After all, he had taken it once before; although it had been many years ago, he remembered the content clearly. Especially the math test; he had copied those problems fifty times back then and was confident that those questions would appear again.
However, Gao Pengjun was irritated upon seeing Bing Tianyi. Although the previous incident was in the past, for Gao Pengjun, it was indeed a significant stain on his reputation.
What bothered Gao Pengjun even more was that he had no idea what Bing Tianyi had been doing outside of school recently. Although Huang Ke was helping him gather information, Huang Ke only knew bits and pieces about what was happening in society.
When Gao Pengjun saw that Bing Tianyi wasn't reviewing the math material he taught, anger surged within him. He threw down his book and sternly asked Bing Tianyi, "Bing Tianyi, what are you looking at? Bring it here."
Bing Tianyi nodded, stood up, and stepped forward with the book of I Ching in hand. When he reached the podium, he handed the book to Gao Pengjun.
Gao Pengjun glanced at Bing Tianyi's I Ching and frowned, asking, "Do you know what class this is?"
"Math class," Bing Tianyi replied clearly.
"Then why are you looking at this?"
"I don't like math," Bing Tianyi stated frankly.
The entire class fell silent because during Bing Tianyi's absence, Gao Pengjun had gradually returned to his old self. Although he was no longer hitting Maping, Pang Yu, and Zhao Qiang—who were previously on good terms with Bing Tianyi—he had simply shifted his focus and continued his teaching attitude every day.
Because of this, during Bing Tianyi's time away, two students in the class could no longer tolerate Gao Pengjun's insults and went home directly.
Seeing such results, Gao Pengjun felt that his strategy was correct. However, he did not expect that Bing Tianyi, the root of the problem, would return to school early!
Now hearing Bing Tianyi's response, Gao Pengjun furrowed his brows and said to him, "Don't think that just because of what happened last time I won't dare to hit you. I tell you, I am still your teacher!"
"I know," Bing Tianyi replied with the same expression, nodding at Gao Pengjun.
Seeing this, Gao Pengjun's brows tightened. After a moment, he bluntly told Bing Tianyi, "Get out."
Bing Tianyi's anger flared up again. He had thought that this shameless person would change due to the previous incident, but he did not expect him to remain obstinate.
However, Bing Tianyi still chose to temporarily suppress his anger and turned back to his seat.
At that moment, Gao Pengjun unexpectedly grabbed the Book of Changes and began to tear it forcefully. With a loud rip, the book split in half.
Seeing this, Bing Tianyi was genuinely alarmed. He quickly stood up and shouted, "Stop!"
At the same time, Bing Tianyi rushed towards Gao Pengjun.
Gao Pengjun certainly did not expect such a reaction from Bing Tianyi; he suddenly felt he had found a target for his frustration. As Bing Tianyi reached him, he tore the Book of Changes even harder, angrily saying, "Look at this useless thing! Do you still want to go to college?"
At that moment, Bing Tianyi wished he could slap this old man to the ground. He suppressed his anger as much as possible and helplessly said to Gao Pengjun, "Teacher Gao, this book is of great significance. I hope you can show some mercy."
"Get back to your seat!" Gao Pengjun shouted at Bing Tianyi again while continuing to tear the book.
In a moment of desperation, Bing Tianyi rushed forward and snatched the already torn pieces of the book from Gao Pengjun's hands. Seeing this, Gao Pengjun dodged, and after Bing Tianyi took a few pieces from his right hand, Gao Pengjun strode to the windowsill and threw the remaining parts out of the window.
Bing Tianyi was devastated. He ran to the window and watched as the yellowed pages fluttered in the air before slowly falling to the ground.
"I really regret this," Bing Tianyi sighed in disappointment as he turned to look at Gao Pengjun.
Gao Pengjun became even more aggressive; days of pent-up frustration erupted when he saw Bing Tianyi. As Bing Tianyi left the room, Gao Pengjun shouted angrily at Wei Min, a girl in the last row of the class, "Wei Min, come up here!"
Meanwhile, Bing Tianyi could no longer pay attention to that. He dashed downstairs and began picking up scattered papers behind the teaching building.
After half an hour, although Bing Tianyi managed to gather all the fallen papers, he discovered that the entire last half page of the book was missing.
He searched everywhere he could think of but found that half page had seemingly vanished into thin air.
"Isn't this just playing with the idea that imperfection is beauty?" Bing Tianyi said to himself with a wry smile as he looked at the empty campus.
With no other options, Bing Tianyi could only hold onto the torn pieces of his book and return to the classroom. Just as he reached the door, the bell rang for the end of class.
Upon entering, Gao Pengjun glared at Bing Tianyi and bluntly stated, "Bing Tianyi, if you admit that you're still my student, we can consider this matter settled. If you refuse, you can either drop out or transfer schools; the choice is yours."
After saying this, Gao Pengjun turned and walked out.
Seeing Gao Pengjun's departing figure, Bing Tianyi thought about how much he wanted to grab the man's collar and throw him off the building. However, he held back. When Gao Pengjun was about five meters away, Bing Tianyi smiled and called out softly, "Teacher Gao, since you refuse to change your ways, I guess I'll continue to play with you."
Gao Pengjun turned around and was taken aback by the look in Bing Tianyi's eyes. Despite having taught for many years and dealt with countless students, he had never encountered someone with such a gaze before.
However, recalling what Huang Ke's father had told him a few days ago during his visit to Huang Ke's home, Gao Pengjun felt no hesitation and replied directly to Bing Tianyi, "Kid, if you want to play, then I'll play along!"
Once Gao Pengjun left, Bing Tianyi turned and walked into the classroom. As soon as he entered, Pang Yu and Zhao Qiang rushed over and exclaimed loudly, "Bro, why didn't you give us a call before coming back? We could have come out to greet you!"
"Greet? There's no time for that; exams are coming up. How's your studying going?" Bing Tianyi replied with a helpless smile.
At that moment, Bing Tianyi realized what it truly meant to be mixed up in things. The so-called Lion King and Wolf Gang that had formed in their school were nothing but nonsense. In real life, those who were truly involved in such activities had no fixed titles; they only relied on their reputation.
Hearing Bing Tianyi's words, Pang Yu and others laughed and said, "Don't worry; our grades are fine."
"That's all that matters," Bing Tianyi said while glancing at Wang Ziyan in the distance. The girl was focused on preparing her textbooks for the next class and hadn't even looked up when he entered.
Seeing this, Bing Tianyi suddenly recalled the scene when Wang Ziyan came to find him that day. After a brief thought, Bing Tianyi returned to his seat and began organizing his textbooks.
Time quickly passed, and as the bell rang for lunch, Bing Tianyi's desk once again became the focal point for his classmates.
However, Bing Tianyi simply responded briefly before getting up and heading towards Wan Ying's office with his backpack.
Upon entering, Wan Ying smiled at Bing Tianyi and said, "Take a seat."
Bing Tianyi nodded and sat in the empty chair beside her. Wan Ying was busy with her work and quietly asked Bing Tianyi about his recent situation, mainly regarding his studies.
Bing Tianyi answered truthfully. After listening, Wan Ying looked at him and smiled, saying, "Study hard. I won't interfere with what you do outside of school, but I just want to tell you to be an upright person and do the right things. As for whether you can get into a key university in the future, that's secondary."
After chatting with Wan Ying in the office for about ten minutes, just as Bing Tianyi got up to leave, he unexpectedly saw Chen Qian running towards him.
Upon seeing Bing Tianyi, Chen Qian didn't think much and directly hugged him, planting a flurry of kisses on his face. This scene left many students around them dumbfounded.
At that moment, Bing Tianyi was nearly overwhelmed. With no other choice, he gently pushed Chen Qian away and whispered, "What are you doing here?"
Chen Qian looked at Bing Tianyi assertively and asked, "What? Am I not allowed to come? Have you taken a liking to some little vixen in your class and don't want me anymore?"
"How could that be?" Bing Tianyi replied with a wry smile.
Chen Qian glanced at Bing Tianyi before turning her head to look behind her. Following her gaze, Bing Tianyi was surprised to see Wang Ziyan staring intently at him from not far away. That murderous glare made Bing Tianyi's heart race again.
