Chen Huaqiang actually does not have a high level of education. When he was in school, he was a proper little delinquent, dropping out of high school to start doing business. Now, he owns a BMW, has bought land near the county town to build a villa, and has also purchased two apartments in the county town—one in the city center and three more in the provincial capital.
Just these properties alone are worth several million.
Therefore, in Chen Huaqiang's mind, he does not determine a person's success based on their education but rather on their abilities. This includes his current factory recruitment process; he never looks at educational backgrounds. He simply posts job advertisements for the required positions and lets workers come to the factory for practical assessments. If they are capable, they can start working.
Now, his daughter has somewhat picked up on his past ways.
After Chen Huaqiang finished speaking, Director Sun quickly stood up and approached Father Bing, whispering, "Alright, don't be too angry. Since this has already happened, let's just work it out. Please don't let this cause any harm to your son."
Father Bing helplessly threw the chair in his hand onto the ground and looked at Director Sun with frustration, saying, "Director Sun, you don't understand. Both his mother and I didn't get a good education and have suffered so much because of it. We had planned for him to go to university to have a good education and become a civil servant or something like that; it would have been a source of pride for us. But now, at such a young age, he has done something like this—where am I supposed to put my old face?"
After hearing this, Chen Huaqiang felt a bit displeased. After all, his own education was not very high either, which was a sore spot for him. Every time he heard discussions about education levels, he couldn't help but rebut.
"Uncle, if you say that, then you're mistaken," Chen Huaqiang said as he glanced at Bing Tianyi beside him. He noticed that blood had already smeared half of Bing Tianyi's face while his daughter stood there with tears in her eyes, pulling out a tissue to help wipe it away.
Perhaps this scene reminded Chen Huaqiang of his high school days. He paused and told his wife beside him directly, "You and his mother take him to the School Infirmary to get his head bandaged up. I will discuss the handling plan with Uncle and Director Sun."
Chen Huaqiang's wife was young and beautiful, resembling Chen Qian quite a bit. However, unlike Chen Qian's mother who was gentle as water, upon hearing her husband's words, she softly advised, "Don't make things too difficult for them."
Chen Huaqiang frowned slightly and replied quietly, "Got it."
Although both of them now had fortunes in the millions, they started from small businesses and understood the hardships of being small business owners.
After Bing Tianyi thanked his mother and Chen Qian's mother and left with them, Chen Qian quickly ran out to support Bing Tianyi and asked helplessly, "Why didn't you dodge just now?"
"That's my real dad; how could I dodge?" Bing Tianyi replied with a bitter smile.
Seeing Bing Tianyi respond like that left Chen Qian speechless as well. Dealing with such an extreme situation was truly exhausting for her.
Along the way, Bing Tianyi's mother kept apologizing to Chen Qian's mother while Chen Qian's mother helplessly said to Mother Bing, "Actually, I think my daughter is partly responsible for this too; after all, she is a girl."
To be honest, the current scene was completely opposite from what Bing Tianyi had imagined when he went to the Disciplinary Office earlier. He had thought that once he entered the room, Chen Qian's father would immediately give him a beating followed by his parents stepping in to mediate.
Who would have thought that now Chen Huaqiang wouldn't take action, but instead, it was his own parents who were causing trouble.
The thoughts in his mind remained unsettled for a long time. After being bandaged up in the infirmary, the doctor administered a bottle of Sugar Water and Anti-inflammatory Medicine to Bing Tianyi. Before he knew it, it was already past Four O'Clock.
Coming out of the infirmary, he returned to the Disciplinary Office. Upon entering, he saw the scene before him and silently thought, "This atmosphere seems off."
At that moment, he noticed his father chatting and laughing with Chen Huaqiang, while Director Sun sat nearby with a distressed expression, aimlessly playing with a pen.
"Dad, how did your discussion go?" Chen Qian asked her father directly as she entered.
"What else could we discuss? The situation is already like this; we can only temporarily arrange for you two to be engaged and wait until you are of age to marry," Hua Guoqiang said with a wry smile at his daughter.
Hearing this, Bing Tianyi felt utterly defeated. He had initially meant well but never expected to be caught in such a situation. If it were just that, it would be fine, but now there was an unexpected fiancée involved—wasn't this ridiculous?
Similarly, Mother Bing and Chen Huaqiang's mother were both stunned; they exchanged glances, bewildered by the turn of events.
After making his statement, Chen Huaqiang looked at Director Sun and said with a smile, "Director Sun, thank you for your efforts today. It's almost time for lunch; would you do me the honor of joining us for a meal?"
Sun Bing smiled wryly and replied, "Since Mr. Chen has invited me, how could I refuse?"
Thus, under Chen Huaqiang's lead, the two families quickly made their way to Huayan Grand Hotel.
During the ride in Wang Bing's car, Bing Tianyi sat silently with his parents. After a long while, Mother Bing could no longer hold back and asked her husband, "Why are you so foolish? How could you casually arrange an engagement for our son without thinking about what comes next?"
"Alright, it's already settled; there's no need to dwell on this," Father Bing said sternly. However, inside he was secretly delighted.
He couldn't quite understand how his son had stumbled upon such good fortune. After all, Chen Huaqiang's family had only one precious daughter, and these two elders were so easygoing. Even if their son ended up marrying into their family in the future, it would still be a good thing.
Not to mention that if his son went on to attend university and successfully became a civil servant after graduation, earning millions through legitimate means would be nearly impossible.
Now, if this engagement truly came to fruition in the future, it would mean his son had taken a significant shortcut. Even if he and his wife were not involved in their son's life later on, as long as their son could achieve great success, he would be content.
Seeing this expression on her husband's face made Mother Bing feel tears welling up.
Wang Bing was driving when he overheard the conversation between the two people and saw the sad expression on Mother Bing's face. He couldn't help but say softly, "Alright, Tianyi's mother, there's nothing the children's father can do about this. The proposal for the marriage came from them first, not us. But I really can't understand what Chen Huaqiang is thinking. How could he make such a request? I've worked at school for most of my life and have never encountered someone like this."
Bing Tian was sitting in the back of the car, constantly reflecting on everything that had happened since last night, but more than anything, he was thinking about Chen Qian's beautiful figure.
Soon, they arrived at Huayan Grand Hotel. After booking a private room, they entered. Father Bing and Mother Bing had worked hard all their lives and had never been to such a place to spend money.
However, at that moment, they were too preoccupied to notice the luxurious decor or the expensive menu.
Wang Bing was the last to enter. Looking at Chen Huaqiang, he smiled and asked, "Mr. Chen, where is your wife?"
"Oh, don't worry about her; I asked her to go do something. She'll be here soon," Chen Huaqiang replied as he took the menu from the waiter and handed it to Father Bing with a smile. "You go ahead."
Father Bing quickly insisted, "No, let Director Wang go first."
Chen Huaqiang nodded with a grin and said, "Look at me! No matter what, Director Wang is also a guest today; how could I forget that?"
Wang Bing took the menu and after ordering, they all sat down at the table and began chatting casually. Bing Tianyi and Chen Qian sat together. In front of Chen Qian, Bing Tianyi felt so awkward that he didn't dare to lift his head. Meanwhile, Chen Qian was smiling as she talked about when she met Bing Tianyi and what they had experienced together.
However, most of her words were about how outstanding Bing Tianyi was.
Director Sun also chimed in with a few comments but did not mention how Bing Tianyi helped him recover his gambling debts.
Chen Huaqiang listened while chuckling beside them. Before long, as all the dishes were served on the table, Chen Huaqiang's wife entered carrying a bag. After reaching her husband’s side, she placed the bag on a chair.
Chen Huaqiang opened the bag and took out twenty thousand in cash. He stood up with a smile and approached Director Wang, placing it on the table while saying softly, "Director Wang, I really appreciate your help today; this amount is just a small token. You must take it."
Seeing this, Director Wang quickly waved his hand and said, "Mr. Chen, what are you doing? This is part of my duties; how can I accept your money?"
"If I say you are the matchmaker for these two children, will you take this money or not?" Chen Huaqiang laughed.
Director Wang paused slightly and feigned helplessness as he replied, "Since Mr. Chen has said it like that, if I don't take it, it would be ungrateful of me. I'll accept this money."
With that said, Director Wang put the twenty thousand cash into his pocket.
Chen Huaqiang smiled and said, "Director Wang, there are some other matters I would like to trouble you with. As you know, my child is still in high school, and I worry that if certain things get out, it could lead to some unpleasant situations. So I would like to..."
Wang Bing interrupted Chen Huaqiang before he could finish, quickly saying with a smile, "Mr. Chen, please rest assured. Only the people present here will know about this matter. If anyone else finds out later, it will definitely be because I, Wang Bing, let it slip. At that time, no matter how you treat me, I will accept it willingly."
Mr. Chen quickly replied, "Director Wang, you are being too modest. Haha, let's eat! Everyone, please enjoy the food."
The dinner continued for half an hour. Seeing that he was somewhat superfluous at the gathering, Wang Bing stood up to bid farewell and leave.
After Chen Huaqiang and Father Bing saw Wang Bing out the door, the two hurried back to the private room. Upon entering, Chen Huaqiang began to inquire about Father Bing's recent situation. Father Bing felt quite awkward but spoke honestly about his plans to open a store.
Upon hearing this, Chen Huaqiang frowned slightly and sighed, saying, "Brother Bing, since the idea of opening a store came from Tianyi, I have a thought that I wonder if it is feasible?"
Father Bing smiled and asked, "What do you have in mind?"
Chen Huaqiang turned to look at Bing Tianyi and asked, "During the recent monthly exam, what was your rank in class?"
Bing Tianyi had been studying high school material for the second time and naturally performed well. He replied honestly, "First in class and second in the entire grade."
Upon hearing this, Chen Huaqiang's eyes widened in surprise as he asked Bing Tianyi, "You must be joking!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Chen Qian stood up to clarify: "Dad, what he said is true. The school's report card is posted on the bulletin board outside; if you don't believe it, you can go check for yourself."
