Father Bing quickly walked up to the stall. Before he could settle himself, he looked at his son and smiled, saying, "I used to think there weren't many good people among the delinquents in society, but today I realized that there are indeed some decent folks among them."
Bing Tianyi, while busy with his work, glanced at a woman not far away and murmured softly, "So, this money is a gift for us, right?"
Father Bing hurriedly stuffed the bag into the cabinet. Just as he steadied himself, Mother Bing rushed over and asked, "Did that person really not want the money?"
Upon hearing this, Father Bing replied with a smile, "That's why I say there are good people among delinquents. When I offered the money to him, he said it was for Tianyi. I figured Tianyi probably wouldn't accept it, and it wouldn't look good to push back on the street, so I just left it there."
At this moment, in the eyes of his parents, Bing Tianyi had become a child they were absolutely proud of.
However, despite this, Father Bing leaned closer to Bing Tianyi and said seriously, "Son, no matter how they treat you, you must remember your identity. You are a student and must never get involved with them in society."
Bing Tianyi nodded but continued to gaze at the woman in the white dress not far away.
As a woman, Mother Bing was naturally more observant than Father Bing. Following her son's gaze, she was surprised to see several young ladies standing there, all of whom were beautiful.
This kind-hearted mother could completely understand; after all, her son was now an adult and surely understood matters between men and women.
"Tianyi, do you know those girls?" Mother Bing asked lightly while busy with her tasks.
Bing Tianyi replied directly, "I know them; one of them is my classmate." After saying this, he continued, "She transferred here; I heard her father is quite wealthy."
Mother Bing sighed upon hearing this and then smiled, saying, "Son, you should be clear about some things. As the saying goes, even when looking for a partner for marriage, one should find someone from a similar background."
While tidying up the table, Bing Tianyi understood what his mother meant. As soon as she finished speaking, he quickly put down the cloth he was using and smiled at her, saying, "Alright, where are you going with this? I just feel like I owe her a favor; I felt a bit guilty seeing her today."
The woman beside them quickly shouted, "Old woman, stop! Do you know how much this outfit costs? We just bought it for eighteen thousand! If your dirty hands..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Bing Tianyi stepped forward and sternly said, "Please be quiet!"
"Hey, what's wrong? Am I not speaking the truth? Look at your mother's hands, they're covered in grease..."
In a fit of anger, Bing Tianyi's hands acted on their own. Before the woman could finish her words, he raised his hand and slapped her across the face.
The scene fell silent, and the surrounding diners gathered to watch what was happening.
However, after delivering the slap, Bing Tianyi felt a pang of regret. After all, he was a man and had never hit a woman in his life. Yet now, in front of so many people, he had just struck a girl.
The girl was taken aback by the sudden turn of events. She paused for a moment, but soon, as another woman beside her asked what was happening, she pushed her companion aside and stepped forward. With a fierce look in her eyes, she confronted Bing Tianyi and shouted, "Well, well! You really are something; you dare to hit me!"
As she spoke, her eyes scanned around until they landed on a kitchen knife nearby. Without waiting for Mother Bing to react, she rushed forward and grabbed the knife, charging at Bing Tianyi.
Bing Tianyi's heart raced as he saw her coming towards him; he turned to run away.
As the saying goes, good men shouldn't fight with women, especially not with someone like her. If he were to confront her head-on now, he would definitely come out worse for wear.
As Bing Tianyi began to flee, Mother Bing urgently shouted, "Miss, I'm sorry! My son didn't mean it. Please put down the knife; let's talk this over!"
But Mother Bing's pleas fell on deaf ears. The girl continued to grip the knife tightly as she charged toward Bing Tianyi.
The crowd around them was stunned; smiles spread across their faces. After all, witnessing such a scene on the street was truly a rare occurrence.
Bing Tianyi could have quickly escaped from his parents' stall, but he realized that if he left, the girl might end up smashing their stall, which would be disastrous. So after running a few meters, he circled back and returned to his parents' stall.
In a moment of desperation, Mother Bing unexpectedly did something that Bing Tianyi dreaded the most.
As Mother Bing suddenly knelt down with a thud, Bing Tianyi caught sight of this out of the corner of his eye and abruptly stopped in his tracks.
After a brief pause, he hurried forward, completely ignoring the girl who had followed him.
"Mom, what are you doing? Get up!" He rushed over to help his mother to her feet.
Mother Bing, feeling helpless, pleaded with the girl approaching them with a kitchen knife, "Please, miss, just let it go. I’m kneeling down for you; isn’t that enough?"
Bing Tianyi glanced at Wang Ziyan beside him, thinking that in this situation, she would surely speak up for him, just like she used to do back in school.
However, to his surprise, Wang Ziyan showed no reaction at all. She merely watched the scene before her with a cold expression, devoid of any compassion.
Seeing this made Bing Tianyi's recent fondness for Wang Ziyan vanish completely.
The girl charged in front of Bing Tianyi, brandishing the knife and shouted at him, "Bing Tianyi, tell me how we're going to deal with today’s incident!"
Bing Tianyi sighed helplessly and replied directly to her, "I’m really sorry about earlier, but you have to admit my mother was wrong too."
"Oh? Now you want to talk about right and wrong? Look at yourself; you're just a street vendor and you dare to argue with me about what's right," the girl said mockingly.
At that moment, a familiar voice suddenly came from the crowd: "Sister Qin, just let it go. It's not worth getting into a fight with them."
After saying this, the crowd turned to look in the direction of the voice. Bing Tianyi was no exception; he turned his head to glance at what was in front of him.
To his surprise, it was Huang Ke who had squeezed through the crowd. Naturally, upon hearing Huang Ke's words, Bing Tianyi felt a bit displeased, but since the comment was directed at Sister Qin, he refrained from saying much.
However, he never expected that after Huang Ke made that remark, the next thing he said nearly drove Bing Tianyi to rush over and snatch the kitchen knife to chop Huang Ke up.
Huang Ke stepped out from the crowd and, once he steadied himself, smiled and said, "Sister Qin, isn't your brother working at the Health Administration Bureau? Why not call him now and have him come check on the sanitation here?"
Upon hearing this, Sister Qin turned to look at Huang Ke and directly replied with a smile, "Huang Ke, I didn't realize you were so clever."
Bing Tianyi was utterly speechless. Standing there, he glared fiercely at Huang Ke and finally spat out, "Huang Ke, you really are a petty person."
Huang Ke smiled and turned to address the surrounding crowd, saying, "Friends, take a look at this iron pot at the stall. Just how dirty could it be? If I'm not mistaken, that should be grime on it, right? Seriously, they don't even wash it. What if someone eats from it and gets food poisoning?"
Bing Tianyi helplessly glared at Huang Ke and asked, "Isn't the big iron pot black? Do you think it's supposed to be silver?"
In fact, anyone who has spent time in the countryside knows that although a new iron pot may start off silver-colored, after being subjected to high heat over time, it naturally turns black.
But this guy was nitpicking just to please Wang Ziyan standing nearby.
While Huang Ke was speaking, Sister Qin had already taken out her phone and dialed her brother's number.
