Late at night, while Bing Tianyi was seriously studying the Book of Changes, his parents pushed the snack cart and walked in. Seeing that his son was still awake, Father Bing approached and asked, "What are you looking at so late at night?"
"Nothing much, Dad. How was business today?" Bing Tianyi closed the book and smiled while boiling water for his parents.
Since accidentally returning to his current life, Bing Tianyi genuinely felt a change in his attitude towards his parents. Previously, he thought it was only natural for his parents to earn money for him to spend. However, now every time he saw them come home late at night, dragging their tired bodies, he felt a pang of sadness in his heart.
But there was nothing he could do at the moment; after all, his father was still the pillar of the family.
"The business is okay, but someone came looking for you today," Father Bing said after washing his face, turning to look at his son with curiosity.
Seeing the expression on his father's face, Bing Tianyi couldn't help but smile and ask, "Who was it? They seem quite mysterious."
"Well, they were driving a fancy car and had two tough-looking guys with them. They didn't seem like good people," Father Bing bluntly stated.
Of course, Father Bing was just an honest businessman. As for the tough guys from society, he had never encountered them. After all, those who were doing well in life wouldn't come to their Dumpling Stall for dumplings.
After hearing this, Bing Tianyi frowned slightly and thought for a moment before quickly asking, "Did this person have a scar on their face?"
"Do you know them?" Father Bing asked in surprise.
"Oh, I don't know." Bing Tianyi actually already knew who it was; he just couldn't tell his parents yet because he didn't want them to worry about him.
Seeing his son respond this way, Father Bing nodded and continued with his work while seriously telling Bing Tianyi, "Son, most of those people out there are not good. Don't associate with them. Focus on your studies; that's what you should be doing right now."
Bing Tianyi nodded in agreement and went to his bed, lying down to rest.
It was said to be a rest, but it was merely a pretense. For many years, Bing Tianyi had only been able to fall into a drowsy sleep around two or three in the morning after waiting for his parents to finish their work.
Lying in bed, Bing Tianyi felt a twinge of worry deep inside. After all, he clearly lacked the strength to confront these people. However, since they had come looking for him, it indicated that they wanted to play with him.
He didn't know when exactly he finally drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, when Bing Tianyi got up, his parents had already gone out to set up their stall. After a quick wash and eating a bowl of vegetarian wontons, he shouldered his backpack and headed out the door.
Yesterday had been good; Bing Tianyi had missed the opportunity to do business because he was celebrating his recent title as Lion King. But today he couldn't avoid divination; he had to muster the courage to seek out the Crow.
Huating County's Eastern District was part of the old town area, but in recent years, as the county continued to move westward, the buildings in Eastern District had become relatively dilapidated. Additionally, there was a main road for transporting coal running through Eastern District, which made the houses on either side appear dusty.
Walking down East Street in the county town, Bing Tianyi felt increasingly uneasy. He recalled the scene from that night when he spoke with the Crow; although the Crow had hung up with a smile, Bing Tianyi could tell from his voice that he definitely had no good intentions toward him.
But if he didn't go now, this guy would have his eyes on his parents, and who knows what trouble they might face later.
After much hesitation, Bing Tianyi decided to head straight to the Night Dance Club.
In this county town, there were two establishments that existed in a somewhat unique form. One was the Starlight Club that Bing Tianyi had visited before; this place was luxuriously decorated and attracted all kinds of people. Notably, no one knew who the big boss behind this establishment was, and there had never been any trouble inside.
The other was the Crow's Night Dance Club. It was easy to imagine that someone like the Crow typically didn't engage in legitimate business. The club primarily revolved around gambling and illicit activities. Nevertheless, the Night Dance Club had never been investigated by authorities.
Standing at the entrance, Bing Tianyi took a deep breath and walked forward, asking the two female attendants at the door, "Is your boss here?"
"Who are you?" One of the attendants looked at Bing Tianyi's youthful face with curiosity and asked.
"I am a friend of your boss, here to discuss something with him," Bing Tianyi said directly.
The two waitresses chuckled and then curiously asked Bing Tianyi, "Kid, are you kidding? Is this place somewhere you can come to?"
"Just tell me if your boss is here or not," Bing Tianyi replied, uninterested in explaining himself to the two women. After they finished speaking, he asked seriously.
"Wait a moment, kid," one of the waitresses said as she stepped inside.
Before long, a thin man with long hair walked out from the back. His gaze was fierce. In Bing Tianyi's memory, this person seemed to be Old Maozi, who was often seen with the Crow.
"Are you Bing Tianyi?" Old Maozi asked coldly as he looked at Bing Tianyi.
"Yes, Brother Mao," Bing Tianyi nodded with a smile.
"The boss wants you to wait here; he has gone out for something and will be back soon. Come with me," Old Maozi said, turning around and leading Bing Tianyi inside.
After reaching the second floor, Bing Tianyi was taken to a private room at the back. Upon entering, he saw three or four heavily made-up women chatting and laughing together. When they noticed Bing Tianyi, a small child entering, they all widened their eyes in disbelief.
After delivering Bing Tianyi to the room, Old Maozi told the women directly, "Don't bully him; the boss said to take care of him. He'll be here shortly."
A short-haired woman in a cheongsam quickly stood up and smiled, "Don't worry."
As soon as Old Maozi left, the women quickly gathered around Bing Tianyi as if they had found a rare treasure. One pinched his cheek while another poked his armpit.
In just a few minutes, Bing Tianyi felt like he was about to collapse.
"Child, go ahead and say which of us you find attractive. Just name it, and we'll accompany you," said the woman in a qipao as she sat down next to Bing Tianyi, her delicate hands continuously stroking his thigh.
Bing Tianyi instantly panicked, quickly getting up and smiling at the four women in front of him. "Ladies, I'm here to see my brother about something; it's not what you think."
"What? She called us ladies," another woman laughed exaggeratedly.
At the same time, the woman on the far left quickly leaned in and pulled Bing Tianyi into her embrace, playfully saying, "We're not that old. Come on, call me sister."
Bing Tianyi had never experienced anything like this in his previous life. After being a nobody for over twenty years, he imagined he could go wild, but when faced with the real situation, he found himself unable to control his reactions.
After the woman finished speaking, Bing Tianyi hurriedly pushed her away and turned to leave towards the door.
He intended to walk straight out, but just as he reached the door, the woman in the qipao stepped forward to block it. She then lifted her dress slightly and looked at Bing Tianyi with a grin, asking, "What do you think? Am I beautiful?"
When Bing Tianyi saw her fair and slender legs, he felt a rush of heat. Just looking at them made him aware of how they would feel to touch.
In just a few seconds, Bing Tianyi felt as if he were in a furnace, overwhelmed with heat and restlessness.
Swallowing hard, he discreetly pinched his thigh and reminded himself that he must maintain control; he couldn't give in to temptation. After all, he had held out for nearly thirty days—breaking now would mean losing all his progress.
However, despite his internal resolve, his eyes betrayed him as they remained fixed on the woman before him.
The Qipao Woman smiled with a strange expression and gracefully approached Bing Tianyi. She wrapped her arm around his neck and softly asked, "Do you want to see what your sister looks like?"
The other girls sitting on the sofa watched the scene unfold with a mix of amusement and disbelief. After all, they had been in this line of work for several years and had never encountered such a young boy before.
Bing Tianyi didn't know how it happened, but he found himself nodding unexpectedly. However, he quickly realized what was happening and waved his hands, shouting, "No, please don't."
"What's wrong? Is my sister not beautiful?" the woman said as she grabbed Bing Tianyi's hand and moved it toward her chest.
As Bing Tianyi extended his hand, it trembled uncontrollably. Just as he was about to reach her chest, he mustered all his strength and pushed the woman away from him, then turned and ran out of the private room.
The four women watching burst into laughter, doubling over with amusement.
Just as Bing Tianyi opened the door, still dazed, he collided directly into someone's embrace.
Looking up, he saw a man with a prominent scar on his face. Startled by this sight, Bing Tianyi quickly stepped back and stood still, greeting the man with a nervous smile, "Hello, big brother."
"Kid, why aren't you sitting inside properly? Why are you running out?" the man asked with a furrowed brow and a wry smile.
Bing Tianyi felt like crying; he turned around helplessly to glance at the women behind him, who were still laughing uncontrollably.
The man seemed to understand what had happened. He pulled out a cigarette and stepped into the room while looking at the four women with a grin. "You all really have no limits; even a little kid like him isn't spared. Just wait until tonight to see how I deal with you."
"Brother, can you handle all four of us?" the Qipao Woman said seductively, swaying her waist with a smile.
The man stepped forward and playfully slapped her on the backside before laughing and saying, "Alright, you all go to another room. I need to have a word or two with this kid."
