At this moment, nothing could get through, and after the female teacher finished speaking, she simply said in a low voice, "Please leave!"
The female teacher sighed helplessly and turned to leave.
As the sound of the door closing reached Bing Tianyi's ears, he knew he was in for trouble again.
Sure enough, Gao Pengjun walked straight over to Bing Tianyi while holding a half of a mop handle. He said bluntly, "Bing Tianyi, I won't mention the last time you stole the exam papers, but today you openly contradicted me in class. What do you mean by that? Don't you know the importance of respecting teachers?"
"Teacher Gao, are you really planning to physically punish students?" Although Bing Tianyi felt some anxiety, he still asked.
Gao Pengjun didn't think much and swung the half mop handle directly at Bing Tianyi's leg while asking, "Do you know how the math scores in my classes are achieved?"
"I know," Bing Tianyi replied straightforwardly.
As soon as Bing Tianyi finished speaking, a new round of beating began. With each strike of the mop handle on his body, he felt waves of piercing pain.
After about four or five minutes, Bing Tianyi could hardly withstand it any longer. He quickly started to dodge, but Gao Pengjun relentlessly pursued him with the mop handle.
In a moment of desperation, Bing Tianyi shouted, "Teacher Gao, if you keep hitting me, I will go report you to the Education Bureau right now."
Upon hearing this, Gao Pengjun suddenly stopped and a smug smile appeared on his face as he said to Bing Tianyi, "Go ahead and report me to the Education Bureau if you have the guts. But let me make it clear: since I started teaching at this school, my classes have always had the highest math scores in the city. If you want to report me, feel free!"
Of course, Bing Tianyi knew that Gao Pengjun was not just boasting. However, that did not necessarily mean that Gao Pengjun was an effective teacher.
In his memory, Gao Pengjun had taught two math classes. Taking his own high school experience as an example, there were originally fifty students in his class. By the end, only thirty-two remained.
The missing eighteen students left because they couldn't handle being called up every day to answer questions due to their poor math scores. Over time, these students could not endure such humiliation and physical punishment and had no choice but to leave.
Those who struggled with math left while those who excelled stayed. Thus, it was strange that the overall math scores in the class did not improve.
Thinking of this, Bing Tianyi truly felt pity for some classmates in the class. However, there was nothing to be done; they were students, and he was the teacher.
"Teacher Gao, do you really think your teaching method is correct? To further your own career, you try to drive away students who struggle with math. Don't you feel guilty about that?" Bing Tianyi asked helplessly.
"Stop giving me this nonsense. This world is like this; the strong survive, and the weak are eliminated."
"Have you ever thought about how those students you drove away will live their lives in the future?"
"That's none of my business. I only care about grades. If the grades are poor, everything is meaningless," Gao Pengjun said, showing no signs of guilt and even seeming somewhat proud.
Bing Tianyi smiled lightly; he knew that this person was beyond saving. With no other choice, he looked at Gao Pengjun and said, "I've said all I can. If you insist on continuing this way, I can accompany you through these three years of high school."
"Fine, I want to see just how much you can endure," Gao Pengjun replied before launching another round of beatings.
It wasn't until Gao Pengjun felt exhausted that he finally dropped the mop handle and sternly ordered, "Get out of my office."
Bing Tianyi turned and limped out the door. Two female teachers hurried over to ask, "Are you okay, kid?"
Bing Tianyi smiled and replied, "I'm fine."
By afternoon, Bing Tianyi had not forgotten that he had an appointment with a customer outside his door. With a bruised face, he gathered his things and went out to meet the man he had arranged to read fortunes for.
After earning two hundred yuan, he went to a nearby pharmacy to buy some medicine for bruises and pain relief. After taking the medicine, he headed back to the classroom.
As soon as he entered, Wang Ziyu came straight to his side. Seeing this, Bing Tianyi decided to ignore her completely and rested his head on his arm.
"I don't care what grudges we had before, but your performance today was really brave."
"Enough; I don't need your praise," Bing Tianyi replied bluntly.
Although Bing Tianyi had returned to high school now, the events from before his death were still fresh in his memory, and the hatred remained deep within him.
"Ha ha, no matter how you put it, I still want to remind you. Gao Pengjun is currently being established as a national model teacher by the Education Bureau, and his teaching achievements are evident. Therefore, the Education Bureau will find ways to cover for him. You should be more cautious in the future; this won't do you any good." After Wang Ziyu finished speaking, she turned and left.
Bing Tianyi never expected that Wang Ziyu would come to remind him so kindly. He looked up at her departing figure, and his heart began to race again.
However, this small stir in his heart was soon interrupted by Mei Fenfeng's voice: "Tianyi, are you okay? Seeing you like this really pains me. Why did you confront Teacher Gao today? Was it for my sake?"
Her words indeed made Bing Tianyi feel as if his world had shattered.
Feeling helpless, he quickly stood up and explained to Mei Fenfeng, "Don't get me wrong; my actions today weren't for anyone. I just wanted to vent my anger."
"I know you won't admit it, but I still want to thank you. Here, take this; it's a love letter I wrote for you." Mei Fenfeng unexpectedly handed a love letter to Bing Tianyi in front of the entire class.
"My goodness, what are you trying to do? Do you think I'm not miserable enough already?" Bing Tianyi exclaimed loudly, but Mei Fenfeng treated his words as if they were just background noise and quickly turned to leave.
At the same time, Pang Yu and others hurried over and began to laugh and ask, "Big brother, it seems Mei Fenfeng really has feelings for you!"
"Shut up and go sit at your own desks," Bing Tianyi said helplessly to Pang Yu and the others.
A few days passed quickly, and aside from spending money on healing and medical treatment, Bing Tianyi had very little left.
On Friday, Bing Tianyi dragged his body, which had been beaten by Gao Pengjun again, out of the school gate surrounded by Pang Yu and others.
As soon as he stepped outside, Huang Ke approached him with a sneer: "Zombie Eyes, are you feeling good lately?"
Bing Tianyi understood Huang Ke's implication; he was clearly referring to Gao Pengjun beating him.
"Of course! It's really uncomfortable not getting beaten every day," Bing Tianyi replied with a cold smile.
"Then keep being stubborn," Huang Ke said before quickly approaching Wang Ziyu as she came out of the school gate. He smiled and asked, "Ziyu, what are your plans for this week? How about I take you out for karaoke?"
Wang Ziyu ignored Huang Ke and walked directly in front of Bing Tianyi. She stopped, slightly furrowed her brows, and quietly asked, "Are you okay?"
"It's nothing," Bing Tianyi said, preparing to turn and leave.
"This is a clinic opened by my father's friend, specializing in treating injuries. Take this business card and this note to their boss, and they will treat you seriously," Wang Ziyu said, handing a business card and a note to Bing Tianyi.
Bing Tianyi took a look at them and then coldly replied, "No need."
As he spoke, he mirrored the scene from when he had thrown away the phone Wang Ziyu had given to a classmate last time, casually tearing up the note and business card before tossing them into the trash can.
Seeing this, Wang Ziyu surprisingly did not get angry but looked at Bing Tianyi with some helplessness and asked, "Bing Tianyi, why do you dislike me so much?"
"I'm sorry, no comment." With that, Bing Tianyi prepared to turn and leave.
Wang Ziyu frowned, her face full of curiosity. Just as Bing Tianyi took a few steps away, she shouted loudly at him, "Bing Tianyi, stop! I still have something to say."
Bing Tianyi did not stop but quickly disappeared from the school gate with Pang Yu and the others.
Once they were far away, Pang Yu curiously asked Bing Tianyi, "Big Brother, what happened between you and Wang Ziyu in the past? Why do you dislike her so much?"
"You wouldn't believe it even if I told you," Bing Tianyi said with a bitter smile.
Pang Yu and Zhao Qiang looked at each other in confusion before asking, "Just tell us; maybe we really will believe you."
"Alright, I'll tell you later," Bing Tianyi said as he got on the bus and leaned back in his seat.
When he got home, Bing Tianyi lay on his bed after applying medicine to himself and turned on the TV out of boredom.
Around eight in the evening, seeing that his parents had not yet returned home made him feel a bit worried. He packed up his fortune-telling gear and headed toward Food City.
After all, he still had three opportunities today; it would be a shame to give them up for nothing.
Arriving next to his parents' stall, Bing Tianyi ate a bowl of vegetarian dumplings and then smiled at his parents, saying, "I'm going to set up my stall nearby; we'll go home together later."
"What are you doing here? Hurry up and go home to rest," Father Bing said with a frown.
"It's fine, there's nothing to do at home anyway. Besides, tomorrow is Saturday, so I don't have classes," Bing Tianyi replied as he walked towards the west side of the square.
The place was still bustling with people in the evening, just like before. He opened his backpack, set out his items in front of him, sat down, and began to wait.
Perhaps it was bad luck; as soon as he sat down, he heard Wang Ziyu's cheerful laughter coming from not far away.
Although Bing Tianyi didn't want Wang Ziyu to see him setting up a stall to tell fortunes, it was clearly too late to retreat now. The bright lights of the square illuminated his face, and when Wang Ziyu passed by him, she quickly noticed his presence.
"Bing Tianyi, what are you doing here?" Wang Ziyu asked, looking at him in surprise.
"Is it only allowed for you to be here?" Since he had already been discovered, Bing Tianyi showed no signs of hiding his actions and asked while sitting on the steps.
Wang Ziyu glanced at the items in front of Bing Tianyi, her small face filled with confusion. After a few seconds, she quietly said, "Are you helping people tell fortunes?"
"Is there something wrong with your eyes? Isn't it obvious?" Bing Tianyi replied bluntly.
As soon as he finished speaking, two senior boys rushed out from behind Wang Ziyu and angrily shouted at Bing Tianyi, "You little brat, are you looking for trouble? How dare you speak to Sister Ziyu like that?"
