In the street, Bing Tianyi tried to recall as much as possible about Wang Bing's gambling activities. Meanwhile, Wang Bing walked behind him, dazed and unsteady, struggling to move forward.
However, it didn't take long for Wang Bing to realize the underlying issues he suspected regarding this matter.
Wang Bing thought that the person walking not far ahead of him, Bing Tianyi, was indeed suspicious. First of all, not many people at school knew about his gambling; even if there were some, they would be teachers, not students.
As he connected the dots of this situation, Wang Bing suddenly quickened his pace. Once he reached Bing Tianyi's side, he kicked him hard in the back.
Bing Tianyi, being just a sixteen-year-old student, couldn't withstand such a kick from Wang Bing and fell to the ground.
Without any hesitation, Wang Bing stepped forward under the gaze of passersby and directly mounted Bing Tianyi, shouting angrily, "Bing Tianyi, who are you really? What is your relationship with Sister Bai? Why are you trying to harm me? Why?"
In his fury, Wang Bing grabbed Bing Tianyi by the neck. Almost choking, Bing Tianyi struggled futilely beneath Wang Bing's weight.
The surrounding pedestrians were taken aback by such an incident happening in public. After a moment of surprise, two older men stepped in to pull Wang Bing away.
Bing Tianyi got up, coughing and catching his breath. He frowned and said to Wang Bing, "You've misunderstood. Can't we talk about this later? We're in the street right now!"
Wang Bing was clearly taken aback; his earlier outburst combined with his own experiences made him unable to hold back tears.
"Alright, let's hurry up and go," Bing Tianyi said bravely as he walked over to Wang Bing and tugged at his sleeve softly.
Wang Bing furrowed his brow for a few seconds before finally taking a step forward toward the school.
By the time they returned to school, it was already past nine o'clock in the evening. The students had just finished their evening study session and hadn’t yet settled down for rest.
After entering through the school gate, Bing Tianyi quickly followed Wang Bing into his office. Upon entering, Bing Tianyi casually closed the door behind them.
Wang Bing sat on the nearby chair, pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and took a few deep puffs.
Seeing the ashtray on Wang Bing's desk piled high with cigarette butts, Bing Tianyi whispered, "Director Wang, as long as you believe in me, everything can get better."
"Just go." After a long moment of contemplation, Wang Bing sighed softly.
Noticing the deep disappointment on Wang Bing's face and the despair in his eyes, Bing Tianyi felt as if he was looking at himself on the eve of suicide. Thinking this, Bing Tianyi hurriedly approached Wang Bing and said, "Director Wang, if you're thinking this way over such trivial matters, then you're gravely mistaken."
Wang Bing sat heavily in his chair, tears welling up in his eyes.
Seeing this, Bing Tianyi continued, "I truly hope you can see me not just as your classmate but as your friend—one of those friends you only have two or three of in a lifetime."
"Heh." Wang Bing let out a laugh that no one could decipher.
Upon hearing this, Bing Tianyi sat down beside Wang Bing and continued, "If someone takes a wrong path but can turn their life around, perhaps their future will be smoother. But if they encounter obstacles along the way and then give up their life, sure, they might feel completely relaxed. But have you thought about your family? How will they live afterwards?"
"I think they have their own ways," Wang Bing finally spoke after a long silence.
Bing Tianyi actually anticipated that Wang Bing might respond this way. So after Wang Bing finished speaking, he smiled calmly and said, "Director Wang, I really didn't expect you to have everything figured out for your family already."
"What do you mean by that?" Hearing the disdain in Bing Tianyi's voice made Wang Bing somewhat angry.
"It means nothing; it's just what I wanted to say."
"Are you saying that if I commit suicide, then I'm a coward?"
"Isn't that so?" Bing Tianyi replied firmly.
Wang Bing smiled, stood up, and threw the cigarette butt on the ground. After a moment, he ran his hand through his hair and looked at Bing Tianyi, asking, "So what do you suggest I do? I've lost so much money to them that even if I stop eating and drinking, I probably won't earn it back before I die."
"Do you trust me?" Bing Tianyi asked.
Seeing the expression on Bing Tianyi's face, Wang Bing quickly asked, "What do you want to do?"
"If you trust me, arrange to meet them now and play with them one last time," Bing Tianyi said clearly.
"Are you crazy? They took my car today; how can we play now?" Wang Bing looked at Bing Tianyi in disbelief.
Bing Tianyi smiled and said, "I'm not crazy, but you need to provide me with your Ba Zi."
"What do you need that for?"
"Of course, to help you," Bing Tianyi replied.
Wang Bing thought for a moment; things had come this far, and dying late or early made no difference.
"Alright!" Wang Bing said as he wrote his Ba Zi on a piece of paper. He then took out his phone and dialed the other party's number. Turning to Bing Tianyi, he asked, "So where should I ask them to meet?"
"Just have them come to the school," Bing Tianyi said seriously.
"The school is not an option; absolutely not." As the school's director of education, Wang Bing had the authority, but he knew this was a place for students. Moreover, the people he had offended were not good individuals. If things escalated and affected the students at his school, even if he died, he wouldn't find peace in his heart.
"Can you find another place near the school?" Bing Tianyi continued to ask.
"Why do you insist on choosing somewhere near the school?"
“Heavenly Secret is confidential, just tell me if you can find it,” Bing Tianyi said with a strange smile on his face to Wang Bing.
After a moment of thought, Wang Bing replied, “I can.”
“Great, then you arrange for them to meet at a place you think is suitable. Once you’ve made contact, we’ll head over,” Bing Tianyi said with a smile.
With a long sigh, Wang Bing made a phone call to arrange a meeting with the few people who had previously tricked him, then led Bing Tianyi out of the school gate. They arrived at the residential area east of the school, and shortly after, two middle-aged men emerged from the nearby Alley Entrance.
Upon seeing Wang Bing, the two men approached with smiles and asked, “Director Wang, what brings you here so late? We didn’t expect to hear from you.”
“Brothers, I need your help,” Wang Bing said. After briefly explaining his situation, the two men expressed sympathy and said, “We’ve heard about your troubles. We didn’t have money to lend you last time, but we’ll take a risk and help you find a place this time.”
Gratefully, Wang Bing thanked them and followed the two men into the Alley.
After walking about a hundred meters, they entered a courtyard where one of the men led Wang Bing and Bing Tianyi to a bungalow on the west side.
Inside, there was a table in the room. Although it wasn’t an automatic Mahjong table, the pile of Mahjong on the large bed nearby indicated that this was also a place where people frequently played cards.
Bing Tianyi glanced around the room and quickly chose a position favorable for Wang Bing, based on Wang Bing’s Ba Zi. Then, Bing Tianyi stepped outside, took a quick look around the courtyard, and returned with two Willow Branches. He placed one in each of two beer bottles filled halfway with water—one behind Wang Bing and the other directly in front of him at the table.
Once everything was ready, Bing Tianyi smiled at Wang Bing and said, “Alright, tonight you’ll only play two rounds with them, each round for four hundred thousand. If you draw yourself, that’s eight hundred thousand.”
“Play for such high stakes? If I lose, wouldn’t that be like seeking my own demise?” Wang Bing lamented.
“Director Wang, I’ll say something you might not want to hear: since you’re not planning to live anyway, why worry about these things?” Bing Tianyi chuckled.
Feeling helpless, Wang Bing replied to Bing Tianyi, “Of course, even if I want to play for such high stakes, they might not agree.”
"Don't worry, they have no reason to disagree." Bing Tianyi said this now because he believed in his own abilities. Moreover, in his memory, Wang Bing did not die in the end. However, unlike now, after Wang Bing's car was taken away, he left the county town with his wife and family.
Now, he was combining the contents of these two books to rescue Wang Bing. On one hand, it was to help himself; on the other hand, it was to accumulate good karma for himself.
Wang Bing saw the serious expression on Bing Tianyi's face and recalled his decision in the office. He could only smile and say, "Kid, I've really never admired anyone in my life, but you have truly impressed me."
"Isn't this all thanks to Director Wang's excellent teaching?" Bing Tianyi replied with a smile.
"Alright, don't flatter me too much," Wang Bing said, then a look of concern appeared on his face as he continued to look at Bing Tianyi and asked, "You were alright on the street today, right?"
"Nothing happened." Bing Tianyi didn't expect Wang Bing's attitude to change so much, but it did make him feel more gratified.
Soon, all the agreed personnel entered the room, with Sister Bai leading the way and three big men following behind. Bing Tianyi recognized that these three were the same men who had appeared at the Bathhouse during the day.
Seeing this, Bing Tianyi smiled at Wang Bing and said, "Director Wang, just watch; I'll step out first."
Wang Bing still felt uncertain inside, but as Bing Tianyi's teacher, he thought it was time to show his "teacher's demeanor."
"Okay." Wang Bing nodded in agreement. After hearing this, Bing Tianyi promptly walked out.
Standing by the window, Bing Tianyi quickly found the homeowner to ask them to turn on their phone's camera function. He then hid by the window and began secretly recording.
