Chapter 281: Out-of-Body Experience
However, in order for everyone, especially Xianxian and Lime, to understand how the mental system operates, many things need to be explained slowly.
Sleep Paralysis may be something everyone has experienced, but what about Out-of-Body Experience? Not everyone in the world can achieve this, and as an awakened individual, this ability is a prerequisite for joining the God Alliance.
Out-of-Body Experience often occurs during a Near-Death Experience when people struggle at the brink of death. Many times, the sensation of the soul leaving the body is part of this near-death experience. When a person is unconscious during a near-death situation, they may feel as if they are floating away from their body and then see their own body along with the Medical Personnel trying to revive them. Often, after regaining consciousness, they can clearly describe what happened during that time. However, at that moment, the near-death individual has been declared unconscious, and even brain activity has ceased, yet they can accurately recount events that occurred while they were unconscious. But the person is not dead.
Thus, the simplest explanation for an out-of-body experience is: feeling as if one has left their body and is active outside of it.
Some individuals practicing meditation, Qi Gong, Yoga, and other spiritual exercises may also experience out-of-body phenomena. They can travel to distant places during these experiences and observe events happening there.
This phenomenon can sometimes occur naturally. According to statistics from Europe and America, about one-quarter of people worldwide remember having an out-of-body experience during sleep (though most of these should actually be classified as Lucid Dream Out-of-Body Experience, not true out-of-body experiences; they are merely entering a space created by their subconsciousness rather than the real world).
This phenomenon mostly occurs during sleep; people typically experience it first before undergoing a Lucid Dream.
Sleep Paralysis refers to the "out-of-body" experience during sleep caused by being more physically fatigued than mentally exhausted. This leads to falling asleep faster physically than mentally, resulting in Sleep Paralysis, where the mind is awake while the body sleeps. Once fully asleep, a person's Consciousness may leave their body and become active.
Lucid Dream Out-of-Body Experience:
Unlike ordinary dreaming, individuals experiencing Lucid Dream Out-of-Body Experience are fully awake; they can think clearly and receive external information just like when they are awake. They can freely control any actions, which may be easier than when they are awake. Because there are no physical limitations after experiencing a lucid dream or out-of-body experience, many things that are usually impossible can be accomplished during this state. For example, you can fly or pass through walls after leaving your body.
In Europe and America, there are specialized institutions studying "out-of-body" experiences scientifically, referring to it as "Out-of-Body Experience."
Data indicates that the Out-of-Body Experience phenomenon is a state of human Consciousness.
Basically, everyone can achieve Lucid Dream Out-of-Body Experience.
The World After Out-of-Body Experience:
When discussing Lucid Dream Out-of-Body Experience, we tend to refer to the part of ourselves that leaves the body as "Consciousness Entity" or "Spirit."
What does our "Consciousness" see after it leaves our "Afterwards"?
When we are in an Out-of-Body Experience state, what kind of world do we enter?
The real world, also known as the Material Realm, is the world we inhabit while awake. In the Material Realm, every object has a physical presence and a certain durability. All events occurring in the Material Realm can be perceived by different individuals.
However, when we fall asleep, we dream. In dreams, objects lack physicality; they can appear at any moment and suddenly disappear. The events that occur in dreams can only be perceived by the dreamer.
Those who have experienced Lucid Dreams know that they can "create" objects and events within their dreams, which manifest instantly according to the dreamer's thoughts.
This dream world is distinct from the "real world" and the Material Realm; it can be referred to as the Non-Physical Realm.
In addition to dreaming, after experiencing Lucid Dreams or Out-of-Body Experiences, we also enter the Non-Physical Realm.
The Non-Physical Realm is a world of Spirit and Consciousness Entities, and we automatically enter this realm during our Consciousness, Out-of-Body Experience, and Afterwards.
In different individuals' Out-of-Body Experiences, it can be observed that part of the Non-Physical Realm overlaps with the Material Realm. Immediately after an Out-of-Body Experience, one may still see elements of the Material Realm, including their sleeping room and their sleeping self.
Strangely enough, as an Out-of-Body Traveler moves further away from their original location, they find that the surroundings become increasingly unfamiliar. For instance, if they travel to a place they often visit after leaving their body, they may notice that familiar structures have changed—buildings that should be present are missing, while places that lacked bridges now have them. The layout of streets or cities seems completely rearranged.
In such situations, one can only sense that the place is originally familiar, but its elements differ significantly from what was once known.
The above describes a scenario where an Out-of-Body Traveler has entered the Non-Physical Realm at a shallow level.
When an Out-of-Body Traveler's Consciousness focus deepens enough, they have the opportunity to fully enter the Non-Physical Realm. The Out-of-Body Traveler may find themselves in a pitch-black space and then suddenly appear in a completely unfamiliar location—one they have never seen or visited before.
This place could be a city, a countryside area, or even outer space. You would instinctively know that this location does not exist on Earth. It is entirely different from Earth; for example, all buildings there might be circular, all trees might be pointed, or there could even be two suns or two moons.
In the Non-Physical Realm, other beings also exist. Many Out-of-Body Travelers report encountering various individuals during their experiences; these beings resemble people we meet in reality. We can communicate or interact with them.
Different individuals have different desires; some wish to remain close to the Material Realm after leaving their bodies and explore around it. Others hope to visit places within the Non-Physical Realm to see its uniquely special elements.
However, if we stay out of our bodies for too long, we can easily enter the Non-Physical Realm automatically. This is because once we leave our physical bodies, it becomes difficult to remain close to the Material Realm.
If this is still unclear, let me rephrase it.
First, let's discuss the five stages of Spiritual Power: Dreaming, Lucid Dreaming, Sleep Paralysis, Out-of-Body Experience, and Transcendence.
Spiritual Power and the soul cannot be directly verified by current scientific methods. We can only measure different brainwave frequencies. However, every individual can perceive their own existence. Whether one's mental state is poor or good is a manifestation of Spiritual Power.
Spiritual Power and the soul are two sides of the same coin, much like the concept of Yin and Yang in Taiji.
The soul refers to electromagnetic waves with spiritual qualities.
The spirit world is the Non-Physical Realm, a different dimension compared to the Material Realm. It may be a world of Dark Matter.
The five stages of Out-of-Body Experience represent the basic progression of the soul in the spirit world from weak to strong.
Human life consists of the body and the soul; this applies to other beings (spiritual and non-spiritual) as well.
The soul exists in the Non-Physical Realm, while the body exists in the Material Realm.
Dreams are actually a small part of our spirit and soul, where our Consciousness instinctively experiences events in the Non-Physical Realm. They can also be seen as passive receptions of information from the Non-Physical Realm. However, due to the weakness of our souls, we cannot control ourselves within dreams, let alone change them.
