Chapter 251: Six-Sided Door
After passing through the narrow corridor, we arrived at a larger tomb chamber. This chamber was quite peculiar; unlike other tombs that had one or several doors, this one had six paths! In other words, there was a door less than two meters tall in every direction—up, down, left, right, front, and back. Of course, these so-called doors were merely openings that allowed free passage; there was nothing blocking them.
There were no markings or symbols around each door to help us discern direction or information. This meant that we could choose any side, but whether they would ultimately lead to the same place remained uncertain.
A gunshot rang out suddenly, a bullet fired from a Daoist Sect member struck the ground just three centimeters in front of Divine Hand. In an instant, everyone raised their guns and aimed at the doorway.
"Great, the gun misfired. Is anyone hurt up ahead?" A somewhat flippant voice came from inside the door.
"Misfire?" Evil Bird scoffed and picked up his gun to prepare for a spray of bullets. "What a coincidence; my gun misfires all the time!"
Seeing that things were about to escalate, I quickly grabbed Evil Bird and shouted, "Stop! We're all on the same side; don't shoot!"
"Hey, Fengfeng?" That flippant voice called out again. Upon hearing it, I knew someone had arrived, and I felt immensely happy.
"Feng Xiao Ge is up ahead?" As soon as Xianxian's words fell, a voice filled with concern and embarrassment followed. It seemed that the person who had just fired was now speaking!
With footsteps echoing, figures emerged from the dark corridor. Indeed, it was Xianxian and Black Bear. The moment Black Bear saw Divine Hand, an unknown fear and panic flashed across his face. His pointing finger trembled slightly as he stammered, "You... Divine Hand... how did you end up here?"
"Heh heh!" Evil Bird sneered disdainfully and said, "Now that you're here, do we need a reason to come?"
Uh... the black bear's already dark face became even darker. However, since there was only one person on his side and several formidable individuals on the Divine Hand side, he dared not provoke them casually. Thus, he reluctantly kept his mouth shut and stood behind Xianxian, not daring to move a step away, fearing that the people from Divine Hand might suddenly turn hostile.
“Xianxian, why are you with the black bear? Didn't you encounter anyone else?” Seeing Xianxian's clothes were dirty and torn with scratch marks, it seemed that a fierce battle had occurred before.
“Feng Xiao Ge, what do you mean by that? Is there a problem with me being with him?” The black bear looked at me with a face full of grievance and said softly.
I couldn't help but twitch my eyelid, not answering such a foolish question.
Xianxian had a half-smile expression as she observed Divine Hand and their people. Then she leaned closer to me, raised an eyebrow, pointed at them, and asked, “They didn't do anything to you, right?”
“No.” I smiled helplessly. Did I really look like someone who could be easily bullied?
Due to time constraints, I briefly recounted to Xianxian what had happened before and after I entered. After listening to my analysis, Xianxian nodded and recalled, “I did see a river; it was over three meters wide. I don't know where it leads or how deep it is. However, the Zongzi that was chasing me never came back up after I kicked it into the water…”
In short, when Xianxian opened the coffin, he also encountered a very powerful Zongzi. Originally, he could handle one Zongzi, but during the fight, two more unexpectedly appeared. It took him quite some effort to shake them off. Later on, he ran into the black bear being chased by a Zongzi. After helping to kill it, they followed the passageway to our side. Hearing the commotion, the black bear thought he had encountered a rising Zongzi, so he fired a shot and unexpectedly ran into us.
It sounded easy, but only those who experienced it firsthand knew how dangerous it was. Xianxian and I privately discussed and decided to temporarily stick with Divine Hand. Being with them not only provided a free Guide, but we could also occasionally pry for information.
During a break, I showed Xianxian the video that Divine Hand gave me along with what they said to me. After hearing everything, Xianxian stroked her chin thoughtfully.
“Damn it. These people really lack insight; why didn’t they come find us first?” After pondering for only a few seconds, Xianxian said indignantly.
I twitched my lips and thought for a moment before saying, “They probably couldn't find us in these past few months because we were always on the run or when they tried to find us, we had already moved to another place.” Speaking of being on the run was quite frustrating; recently we had been moving from one place to another in haste. Perhaps this was why we missed something... right?
"Forget it, let's wait a bit longer. Who knows, those mysterious people might come here too, hehe~" Xianxian hugged her head and closed her eyes. "I'm so exhausted these past few days. With no one around, I can't even dare to rest, can I?" As she spoke, she cast a meaningful glance at Yang Bin and the others, her eyes filled with resentment. Why weren't there any Spirit Department members by her side before? If there were, she wouldn't have to be so anxious even while trying to sleep!
In front of their own people, the Spirit Department members were no longer invisible; anyone from The League of Shadows could see them. However, outsiders, even if they knew of their existence, could not see them. Of course, this excluded perverts like Divine Hand, who could see them regardless.
It was time to sleep, not just rest. Resting only required a few minutes, but sleeping naturally needed at least three hours or more. Although everyone wasn't particularly tired, Divine Hand still insisted that everyone sleep and rest. They needed to conserve their strength at all times; it's better to be safe than sorry. This place was an unknown maze, and no one knew what would happen in the next moment. Therefore, sleep was essential, and being ready for battle was also necessary.
Xianxian and I occupied a corner to rest alone; even the Black Bear didn't come over. It wasn't that we didn't trust him; it was just a matter of stance.
The Black Bear belonged to the Azure Dragon faction, while Divine Hand and his group had separated from Azure Dragon and were now part of the God Alliance. Xianxian and I naturally had ties to both sides but stood with neither. Some things were inconvenient to discuss in front of them.
"I've felt something off about Divine Hand for a long time! Especially with those pretentious glasses he wears; I don't know what he's trying to pull—he's not cool at all!" Xianxian disparaged Divine Hand while suspiciously saying, "Fengfeng, do you think he can see Yang Bin and the others because of those glasses?"
"I think that's a possibility..." I glanced at Divine Hand; everything about him seemed mysterious and unfathomable...
