"There's going to be heavy fog, everyone be careful," Pei Zi reminded us. 0

I casually responded, but before long, the fog grew thicker. I couldn't help but stretch out my hand in front of me, only able to see my blurred fingers. This fog was too dense; I had no idea how we ended up in it! Just as I was thinking about this, I looked up and realized that I couldn't see anyone around me! I called out a few times but received no response. I couldn't help but recall what had happened earlier and cursed under my breath, wondering why it was happening again. Why was I alone once more? 0

"Zier?" 0

Just as I started to panic, I suddenly heard a familiar voice. I was overjoyed and quickly shouted, "Dad, is that you?" 0

"It's me." My dad's voice sounded distant yet close at the same time. I couldn't tell which direction he was coming from, so I shouted again, "Dad, why can't I see you?" 0

"I'm right in front of you; just keep walking forward and you'll see me..." 0

After my dad finished speaking, I took a few steps forward and, to my surprise, a blurry figure appeared ahead. As I walked closer, I saw my dad smiling at me. It really was him! I happily ran towards him, but suddenly a snake appeared beside me, tightly coiling around my wrist. I tried to shake it off with all my might, but it only tightened its grip. My dad was right in front of me, yet I couldn't reach him. This situation infuriated me; without thinking twice, I bit down on the snake. To my astonishment, it let out a scream. Could snakes actually scream? 0

Just as I pondered this, a sharp pain shot through my thigh, and I heard Song A's voice beside me: "Feng Zi, wake up! Wake up!" 0

I heard him but thought to myself that he shouldn't be slapping my face! I wanted to swat away the hand on my face but realized with frustration that I couldn't move at all! Was this a nightmare? Was everything that just happened a dream? 0

"Do you want to go through it again?" The voice sounded like Sudai. It was hard to tell because my mind was becoming hazy again. But the next moment brought another sharp pain—almost more intense than before—and I let out a scream as my eyes flew open. There was Sudai holding a piece of wire ready to poke my thigh! I quickly exclaimed, "Why are you poking me? I'm already awake!" 0

Seeing that I had truly woken up, Song A sighed. At that moment, I noticed two rows of bite marks on his arm! Did that mean I hadn't bitten a snake earlier but rather Song A? I glanced at him; he looked back at me and said, "Feng Zi, take a look at where you are now." 0

I was just sleeping, right? Where else could I be? As I thought this, I looked down and was shocked to see a pile of bones beneath me! I immediately jumped up and asked in surprise, "How did I end up here?" Wasn't I sleeping inside the tent? 0

Sudai pointed behind me and said, "This kind of flower can mesmerize the mind. You were dragged here by it. If we hadn't noticed that someone was missing in time, you would have ended up like them." They were referring to the white bones beneath me! 0

I turned to look; the flower was small but densely packed. If it weren't carnivorous, it would have been quite pleasing to the eye. Sighing, I asked, "Is anyone else hurt?" 0

"Yes, Xiaoshan is also missing. You're luckier than him; when we found you, it was busy digesting Xiaoshan..." Sudai's voice grew quieter, but I felt a sense of dread in my heart. We hadn't even reached the tomb yet, and there were already casualties; who knew what would happen inside? 0

After Sudai bandaged my wounds, we moved to another spot to spend the night. At that moment, Pei Zi approached with a heavy expression and said with some guilt, "It's all my fault for not noticing those things. Are you okay?" 0

"I'm fine; I'll be alright after resting for a night. But Xiaoshan..." It was clear that Pei Zi felt genuinely guilty; after all, a companion they had been together with for so long was gone just like that. 0

"I'll take care of things regarding Xiaoshan," Pei Zi sighed. Seeing that I really wasn't badly hurt eased his mind. He said, "As long as you're okay, I'll try to lead us to a safer place. It might take an extra day since we'll have to take a detour." 0

"Okay." I nodded, and Pei Zi went outside. I lay on the bed, reflecting on the situation over the past few days. Perhaps it was summer now, and our luck had been relatively good; we had only encountered two heavy fogs. During those times, we stayed put instead of wandering around, which helped us avoid getting lost. Now we had been traveling for seven or eight days; it seemed we were running much later than initially expected. 0

I didn't know if our luck was truly that good or if it was due to my dad's previous experience with danger. In any case, this time it really wasn't as perilous as Pei Zi had described. Although there were minor accidents along the way, we safely reached the place where my dad and the others had arrived before us. Fortunately, Pei Zi quickly found the Tomb Hole they had excavated years ago. 0

Looking at the Tomb Hole that was only big enough for one person to squeeze through, my heart was filled with mixed emotions—mostly excitement and eagerness to try it out. Although I thought they might have already left, I still wanted to go in and search for clues. It would be best if I could see my dad; if not, at least I could look for any traces they might have left behind! 0

"Thank you!" I happily said to Pei Zi before planning to go down first. Unexpectedly, Pei Zi grabbed my shirt and said, "I'll go down first; you all follow behind." 0

"Are you going down too?" I was surprised because Pei Zi had been forced to come here back then; I thought he wouldn't want to enter this underground tomb again. But Pei Zi shook his head firmly and said, "I don't want to regret it anymore. Besides, we have much more practical experience than you do and can help you out." 0

"Alright!" It was best that Pei Zi could stay, so I stopped being polite. After Pei Zi went down, we all carefully followed. 0

The Tomb Hole was not a straight drop. After descending about ten meters, we reached the bottom, and then it extended to the right. The inside of the cave was pitch black; I could only see Pei Zi's backside swaying in front of me. A few minutes later, Pei Zi suddenly disappeared. Before I could say anything, I let out an 'ah' and fell down with a splash, landing awkwardly on the ground. 0

When I came to my senses, the others had also fallen down. At that moment, Pei Zi walked over with a flashlight, brushed off the dirt from his clothes, and said, "Is everyone alright? It seems part of the entrance has been damaged, but luckily it's not deep." 0

I was just about to say I was fine when I suddenly noticed something standing behind Pei Zi. I swallowed hard and stammered while pointing behind him, "You... you, behind you!" 0
