"How do you know the name Yui?" Yui's lips trembled, and her hands shook.
She didn't know what answer she wanted to hear.
"Ha... Yui, have you really forgotten me? Is that why you don't recognize me?"
The Prince laughed self-deprecatingly, released Yui, and stood up, looking down at her. "I was just being overly sentimental."
He turned to leave.
But after taking a few steps, the hem of his garment was tugged. Yui's current height only reached his waist, and she had to lift her head high to look him in the eye.
"Tell me... how do you know the name Yui? How do you know me?"
The Prince's anger flared as he forcefully shook off Yui's hand. "If you don't remember, then forget it."
"Could it be... that you are the Benefactor?"
The Prince paused for a moment before continuing forward. He had waited so long and thought so much, yet all he received was an uncertain tone and doubt.
What was he in the eyes of a being with infinite life and endless power? Perhaps... nothing at all.
"Nor—"
Yui stumbled along behind him, her physical awareness seemingly slipping away bit by bit, but her mind was very clear; she needed to know if she had made a mistake.
The Prince had long legs and took big strides, while Yui, with her small arms and legs, struggled to keep up due to her discomfort.
"Nor—are you Nor?"
"But your name, the current Prince's name is Liu Fu Ye Hua, the Sixth Prince is Liu Fu Yeno. He also has a token, that jade pendant..."
Yui didn't notice the trap on the ground and stepped right into it, a wave of intense pain hit her, and her vision went dark.
She gritted her teeth, trying to pry open the clamp on her foot, but her hands were weak, and the color drained from her face, leaving only a blank void.
"I was once the Lotus Maiden, my heartfelt words unspoken, tears like rain. If you see the lotus weeping, do you know how much sorrow it bears?"
Yui watched the gradually disappearing figure and began to sing towards him, each line feeling as though it was stuck in her throat but forced out nonetheless.
"I was once the Lotus Maiden, only pledging my heart to you. Tonight I sing for you, every line a sorrowful tune."
