Not bad, those cities and towers that suddenly rose from Goat Path Peak resemble the legendary mirage. From here, one can only see some vague outlines of London, which are not clear at all.
The main issue is that the city walls and the interior of the Drum Tower emit waves of evil Demonic Energy, which is somewhat terrifying and chilling.
Everyone present was seeing the legendary Demon Thirteen Tombs for the first time. Although it had taken a while for it to appear this time, it finally arrived, living up to expectations.
"Is this really the legendary Demon Thirteen Tombs?"
Among the Beast Clan Leaders, someone spoke up, their tone unable to hide their shock at the Demon Thirteen Tombs.
All around were city walls, the Drum Tower, pavilions, and elegant buildings covering dozens of acres, stretching as far as the eye could see. There were thirteen main tombs, along with countless accompanying burials, housing the spirits of countless souls from the Wasteland Continent. Just imagine such a sight; how could it not be shocking?
"That's right, this is indeed the legendary Demon Thirteen Tombs. We’ve come to the right place. Let’s hurry in and find our treasures; we’re going to get rich!" The Beast Clan leaders couldn't help but roar in excitement.
Just as they were about to enter, a beam of golden light flying in from outside caught their attention.
It was a bell the size of a basin, moving at an invisible speed into the Demon Thirteen Tombs, seemingly preparing to seize the first opportunity.
That bell was Jun Bell, with Lu Chen and Yuanmo Laozu already hidden inside it, controlling it as they flew into the Demon Thirteen Tombs.
This was the Wasteland Continent, so Lu Chen no longer needed to hide; he didn’t have to worry about Jun Bell being recognized and could use it openly.
"It’s Yuanmo Laozu and that guy; they’re trying to enter the Mausoleum and compete with us for treasures."
The Minotaur roared loudly, joined by other Beast Clan leaders who also shouted in anger. Lu Chen and Yuanmo Laozu were trying to snatch their things; they certainly wouldn’t allow that.
"Let’s chase after them together and seize any treasures we find. If we see that guy and Yuanmo Laozu, we’ll team up to eliminate them." The Minotaur had strong charisma as he ran vigorously while addressing his fellow Beast Clan leaders.
The Minotaur's words received agreement from others who expressed their consent. If it were among their own people competing for treasures, that would be one thing; but Lu Chen was an outsider—how could they allow him to participate in the treasure hunt at the Demon Emperor's Tomb?
As for Yuanmo Laozu, although he could be considered part of the Demon Kingdom, the Ape Demon Clan had long retreated to the southern part of the continent and distanced themselves from the Demon Kingdom; they were not on the same side.
Thus, the primary goal of these Beast Clan leaders was to seize treasures first and then eliminate Lu Chen and Yuanmo Laozu. When necessary, they could even put aside past grievances and join forces.
In just a few breaths, dozens of beast clan leaders surged into the Demon Thirteen Tombs and then disappeared. Each of them chose an entrance they deemed better and walked inside.
The entrance was located within the buildings of the city; upon entering, one could see that following the entrance led directly to the Demon Thirteen Tombs.
At this moment, on the other side, Lu Chen and Yuanmo Laozu were hiding inside the Jun Bell, controlling it to select a larger Mausoleum entrance and flew directly in.
Inside the Jun Bell, Lu Chen, Yuanmo Laozu, and the Treasure Guardian Beast stood together, able to observe the outside situation through the opening of the Jun Bell.
At this point, the Jun Bell had already flown underground into a place resembling an Underground Palace.
This Underground Palace was vast, dimly lit, with thick liquid flowing on the ground, creating a very disgusting atmosphere. Occasionally, dripping sounds could be heard, adding a touch of horror to the scene.
What was most striking was the sound of wind; indeed, it was the wind. The source of this wind in the Underground Palace was unknown, blowing with a rustling sound that sometimes roared like a ferocious beast.
"Surely we didn't choose the wrong entrance," Lu Chen said tentatively, uncertain about their current situation.
Yuanmo Laozu manifested a human form, appearing as a handsome young man standing alongside Lu Chen.
Yuanmo Laozu shook his head and replied, "I'm not sure either. There are only thirteen tombs in the Demon Thirteen Tombs; all others are accompanying graves or empty ones. Whether we can find the Mausoleum of the Demon Monarch depends on our own fortune."
Upon hearing Yuanmo Laozu's words, both Lu Chen and the Treasure Guardian Beast became solemn and slightly disappointed. According to this implication, opportunities for obtaining treasures or techniques from the Demon Thirteen Tombs were random; whether they could acquire anything upon entering was also uncertain.
It meant that Lu Chen and his companions might end up making a fruitless trip without gaining anything in the end.
Lu Chen controlled the Jun Bell to continue flying forward in search of any suspicious clues. Hiding inside the Jun Bell provided many advantages; it helped them avoid ambushes or attacks from powerful creatures. This consideration was precisely why Lu Chen aimed to utilize this advantage.
After all, this was the Demon Emperor's Tomb, which housed thirteen emperors from various dynasties of the Demon Kingdom. It undoubtedly contained numerous traps and hidden weapons since the design of a Mausoleum would have taken potential destruction into account from the beginning.
In fact, since entering from outside until now, Lu Chen and his companions had already disabled quite a few traps and hidden weapons; even several hundred thousand pounds of Dragonstone were not regarded as significant obstacles.
"I have a feeling that something is ahead," Yuanmo Laozu remarked to Lu Chen, capturing his attention.
"How can you sense anything inside the Demon Emperor's Tomb?" Lu Chen asked, puzzled. Yuanmo Laozu was not a member of the Shaking Family and had no connection to the Demon Thirteen Tombs, so how could there be a special sensation?
"It's right ahead; let's go take a look," Yuanmo Laozu said, pointing forward.
Lu Chen nodded. Since Yuanmo Laozu suggested it, they might as well check it out. However, he was a bit worried that this could be a protective mechanism of the Demon Emperor's Tomb, designed to lure people into dangerous places.
While Lu Chen was deep in thought, Jun Bell had already broken through the darkness of the Underground Palace and flew forward to the spot indicated by Yuanmo Laozu.
"Here it is," Yuanmo Laozu said, and then he and Lu Chen flew out of Jun Bell and landed on the ground.
It turned out to be a massive ancient stone statue, carved in the shape of an Ape Demon.
The Ape Demon Statue stood over ten zhang tall, dominating the Underground Palace with its fierce and menacing face, wielding a gigantic stone club as if it were about to smash down from thin air.
"Isn't this a statue of the Ape Demon Clan? It must have been placed here to suppress the Mausoleum," Lu Chen remarked, his tone tinged with doubt.
The reason Yuanmo Laozu sensed something earlier was likely related to the statue. However, this statue could not be an ancestor of Yuanmo Laozu since he was much older than it; rather, Yuanmo Laozu must be its descendant.
At that moment, Yuanmo Laozu looked up at the statue and said, "There's nothing strange about this. Our Ape Demon Clan once earned the trust of the Demon Emperor and came here after death to guard the tomb or suppress the Mausoleum; it's only natural."
"I still feel something is off about it, but I can't pinpoint what. Since you have a kinship with it, why don't you pay your respects?" Lu Chen suggested.
"Why should I pay my respects? It is my descendant; do ancestors worship their descendants? Besides, in our Ape Demon Clan, we don't hold the dead in high regard. Once someone dies, they are buried; it's that simple," Yuanmo Laozu explained.
Lu Chen was surprised that the Ape Demon Clan did not prioritize the dead. Moreover, Yuanmo Laozu seemed completely unfazed by seeing his descendant guarding the Demon Thirteen Tombs.
"It is Essence; it guards the Demon Thirteen Tombs. Although its body and will have perished, its Essence remains. I believe that's why I can communicate with it," Yuanmo Laozu continued.
"I see now; no wonder it looks so spirited as if it's alive," Lu Chen exclaimed.
The warriors of the Ape Demon Clan died yet did not decay; their bodies and wills may have perished, but their Essence endured for hundreds or even thousands of years without destruction.
The matter of the Demon Thirteen Tombs infiltrating divine abilities and treasures seems to be true. However, while the Demon Monarch did not find it, he first discovered an Essence from an Ape Demon Warrior.
Lu Chen rubbed his hands together and said, "What should we do? Should we give up?" He asked Yuanmo Laozu.
Regardless, this stone statue in front of them also belonged to the Ape Demon Clan, so whether or not to take its Essence required consulting Yuanmo Laozu's opinion.
"Do as you wish; I have no opinion," Yuanmo Laozu replied lightly, appearing indifferent.
Upon hearing this, Lu Chen smiled slightly. Since Yuanmo Laozu had expressed his stance, he felt no need to hold back.
Next, Lu Chen began searching for a way to obtain the Essence. This was somewhat challenging since the Essence was not a physical object. Simply shattering the golem might lead to failure; it would be best to use a method of attraction.
As for how to attract it? After pondering for a moment, Lu Chen manifested in a Yin Spirit state, drew a breath from Yuanmo Laozu, and then transmitted a message to the Ancient Golem through thought.
This method involved using Yuanmo Laozu's intimidation power along with the channel of the Yin Spirit to convey a message and intimidate the Ancient Golem Essence.
After several attempts, he unexpectedly succeeded easily. A fist-sized ball of Essence power flew out from the open mouth of the Ape Demon Statue. Lu Chen reached out and caught it in his hand.
As the Essence power landed in his palm, Lu Chen looked down and licked his lips. "Is this the Ancient Golem Essence? It contains all of this Ape Demon's battle experiences, memories, and willpower, among other things. It can also be used to refine clones."
