"Good timing!"
Lu Chen suddenly extended his leg and swept forward, targeting the lower body of the Masked Warrior, who was immediately forced to a halt.
Lu Chen supported himself on the ground like a Golden Toad, sweeping one leg in a half-circle. With a twist of Flesh, another leg followed suit. His long legs resembled two great steel whips, striking repeatedly with the force to break stone and split wood, cutting through the air with a booming sound that left the Masked Warrior dumbfounded, causing him to hurriedly retreat.
Lu Chen practiced the Five Animal Vitality Magic Technique, where the Crane Demon posture specifically trained the leg bones. Only with such intricate training and enduring patience could one forge iron-like legs, honing them to perfection and establishing a solid foundation.
If Flesh was not adequately refined and the training lacked purity, disadvantages would become evident during combat. External martial arts were crucial, but refining the internal organs was even more vital. If not practiced well, one could not withstand the onslaught of True Qi; even if stamina was sufficient, one could perish from organ failure.
"What an opportunity!"
The Masked Warrior was being relentlessly pressured by Lu Chen, retreating in panic. Lu Chen executed a Deer Demon Leap, crashing into the Masked Warrior's chest.
"I can't believe it!"
This move was part of the Five Animal Vitality Magic Technique known as Deer Demon Horn. Humans do not naturally have horns, but through visualization, one imagines having hard coral horns on their head and charges at the target with force.
The Masked Warrior that Lu Chen had struck leaned against the wall, eyes wide with anger as his body slowly slid down to the ground. With a tilt of his head, he died.
Lu Chen stood up; the Masked Warrior he had just pushed had already perished.
He took a few steps to crouch beside the Flesh of Chuan Ru Mage and searched the old fellow thoroughly. To Lu Chen's anger, there was not a single valuable item on him; even the staff set aside was just an ordinary weapon, utterly useless.
Fuming with rage, Lu Chen raised his hand and smashed Chuan Ru Mage's head, blood and brain matter splattering everywhere.
Without a head, unless one were a War God, no matter how great their powers were, they could not be restored. Flesh served as the host; without it, Yin Spirit could survive at most for forty-nine days. Either Corpse Dissolution Reincarnation or seizing another's body for rebirth could occur; however, Corpse Dissolution Reincarnation had Fetal Mystery while seizing another's body would diminish one's cultivation. The only perfect solution lay with Yin Immortal from ancient texts.
However, for safety's sake, Lu Chen still took out a jade vial and poured powder over Chuan Ru Mage's body.
This was Corpse Destroying Powder made from the venom secreted by Ten-Thousand Poisons Golden Toad after consuming Seven-Linked Serpent; now it was finally time to test its effectiveness.
As Corpse Destroying Powder was sprinkled on Chuan Ru Mage's corpse, white smoke immediately rose. The body burned like paper in flames; Flesh Wounds quickly melted away, revealing a pile of white bones until even those were gradually eroded into a mass of filth.
Lu Chen put away the jade bottle and tucked it into his bosom. The Chuan Ru Mage was an outsider, colluding with the King of Qi, intending to seize the Central Plains. Even killing him a hundred times would not quell the hatred.
"Those who are not of my kind must have different hearts."
Lu Chen walked out of the palace courtyard and arrived at the outskirts of the battlefield, just in time to see the Chuan Ru Mage starting to go mad. He had already sensed through telepathy that his Flesh had been destroyed; with his mind and Flesh losing connection, it meant that his Flesh had been reduced to ashes.
"Ah, ah, ah, my Flesh!" The Chuan Ru Mage roared frantically, opening his mouth wide in a voiceless scream. With a savage expression, he turned to see Lu Chen walking out from the palace.
"Return my Flesh to me."
The destruction of his Flesh was an immense humiliation. Leaving his Flesh in the courtyard was his greatest mistake. The Chuan Ru Mage regretted it deeply; for him, losing his Flesh would be an irretrievable loss and pain, incomparable to anything else.
The Chuan Ru Mage went berserk. His Yin Spirit trembled, and he let his hair down as he flew towards Lu Chen.
Just moments ago, Lu Chen had released the Ten-Thousand Poisons Golden Toad, breaking through the Garrison's encirclement. Now that the Chuan Ru Mage was drawn away, the Garrison members immediately reacted, raising their weapons and charging at Young Lord and Luo Gongshuai.
Lu Chen's eyes widened as he saw the Chuan Ru Mage lunging at him. He immediately swung his long arms and used the Deer Demon Technique to turn and flee.
"You dare destroy my Flesh? I will capture your Yin Spirit, refine it with Four Phases Thunder, and use your Flesh as my vessel," the Chuan Ru Mage's Dharmakaya form soared through the air as he spoke viciously.
At the same time, the Chuan Ru Mage continuously unleashed lightning from his hands, transforming it into electric snakes. Wherever he pointed, the electric snakes surged forth; once struck, even granite would explode into dust. Several times they nearly detonated on Lu Chen.
Using someone else's Flesh as a vessel was akin to trampling on one's dignity in the mortal realm—a highly humiliating act that every practitioner of Yin Spirit took very seriously.
Lu Chen exerted all his strength using the Deer Demon Technique to escape. At that moment, he truly resembled a lively Deer Demon, moving at incredible speed. The pursuing Chuan Ru Mage could not catch up; his electric snakes often missed their target and failed to strike Lu Chen.
"You detestable Central Plains person! Do you really think I can't do anything about you? Ah ah ah ah!"
The Chuan Ru Mage roared as his Yin Spirit trembled. The manifested Dharmakaya immediately changed; it swelled rapidly like an inflated balloon, tearing its clothes apart. However, even the torn clothing melted back into the expanding Dharmakaya. The garments worn by the Chuan Ru Mage were also manifestations of his Yin Spirit; they were not real but could be materialized when needed or reintegrated into the Dharmakaya when not required.
For a Yin Spirit practitioner, everything manifested belonged to their own Yin Spirit Dharmakaya. In legends, when Buddha cut flesh to feed eagles, what was actually severed was a part of their own Yin Spirit that could regenerate.
Chuan Ru Mage underwent a transformation, rapidly expanding until it reached a height of fifty feet. Eight arm-like appendages suddenly sprouted from its back, resembling the Eight-Armed Vajra.
However, the Eight-Armed Vajra is a deity of justice, and Lu Chen truly could not associate the appearance of Chuan Ru Mage with a righteous god.
The Dharmakaya manifested by Chuan Ru Mage continued to undergo changes, with the eight arms growing longer and thicker, eventually becoming as wide as barrels, but at their tips, they abruptly broke off and vanished.
Severed Arm Vajra!
"What kind of monster is this?"
Lu Chen glanced back and saw that the Dharmakaya manifested by Chuan Ru Mage towered at thirty to forty feet high, with eight fierce and brutal severed arms tightly gripping him.
Lu Chen gasped in shock; the manifestation of Yin Spirit Dharmakaya as severed arms must be an extremely powerful Yin Method. In such a situation, it would not be surprising if three to five thousand Regular Army soldiers were annihilated. The Law of the Realm was terrifying, akin to the power of Li Shian and Killing.
So far, Lu Chen had no effective weapon to counter the Yin Method. The Xuan Yin Flying Sword, being made of ancient ice essence, belonged to the yin category and could only harm flesh, unable to affect the Yin Spirit at all.
The Capturing Demon Roar Star Technique, in the face of such a powerful Yin Method, was equally useless and could be easily defeated. A Qi Master battling against a Yin Spirit Dharmakaya was inherently at a disadvantage.
However, Lu Chen dared not use his own Yin Spirit Disembodiment to confront Chuan Ru Mage. He had never practiced any lethal Yin Method, but that was not the main issue; the key point was that he currently did not even have the chance for Disembodiment. He feared that if he slowed down even slightly, his flesh would be crushed to bits by the severed arms of Chuan Ru Mage, and at that point, even the Supreme Garment would not save him.
Thus, Lu Chen could only rely on his agile Deer Demon Technique to evade and dared not confront Chuan Ru Mage head-on.
On the battlefield of Island Heart, Old Mu teamed up with a Centurion to deal with Luo Gongshuai. After just over ten exchanges, Luo Gongshuai was struck by several blades, significantly weakening him to the point where he could no longer throw punches effectively.
Seizing the opportunity, Old Mu unleashed his glowing Demon-Slaying Sword, stabbing it into Luo Gongshuai's throat and slaying him in one strike.
The remaining four or five Masked Warriors were also killed one by one by the Garrison. Next, everyone focused their efforts on surrounding the Young Lord, creating a circle with forty to fifty Spearhand and sword-wielders within a ten-foot radius.
The soldiers responsible for encircling formed two rows; the first row consisted of the Spearhand. They roared fiercely as they thrust, jabbed, poked, and slashed before stepping back for the sword-wielders to take over. The sword-wielders charged forward with their large blades raised high.
Sixty or seventy large blades struck simultaneously, creating a dense net of cold light overhead that radiated murderous intent.
The Young Lord let out a low growl, swinging his Dual Blades to carve a large arc in the air. Instantly, the sound of "bang bang" echoed as dozens of large sabers were all repelled by his force.
Another wave of shouts came from the Garrison, and the sabersmen automatically parted to create a gap wide enough for one person to pass through. One by one, the Spearhands emerged from the gap, brandishing their iron spears and lunging towards the Young Lord.
The sabersmen and Spearhands took turns attacking, nearly putting the Young Lord in mortal danger several times. However, he managed to deflect their assaults with his Dual Blades. Flesh continuously flipped and leaped within the battle circle, counterattacking with swift movements, showing no signs of hesitation. Even at this moment, he still had the strength to fight.
Old Mu glanced at the battle situation and then grabbed his Demon-Slaying Sword, turning around and running towards the direction where the Chuan Ru Mage was pursuing Lu Chen.
Not long after he started running, he saw the shocking traces left along the way. There were deep grooves several dozen feet long and as tall as a person, and even granite boulders that had been resting by the roadside were shattered into dust by immense force.
Seeing this, Old Mu hurriedly quickened his pace to catch up.
After about the time it takes to brew a cup of tea, Old Mu spotted a giant towering several dozen feet high, carrying eight severed arms on its back, chasing after a dwarf who seemed insignificant in comparison.
The giant was none other than the Yin Spirit Dharmakaya of the Chuan Ru Mage. The eight severed arms on its back were manifestations of the Yin Spirit, writhing as if they possessed their own consciousness.
"Master, here comes the sword!"
Old Mu shouted loudly and threw his Demon-Slaying Sword with all his might.
