Lu Chen held the Silver Needle in his hand and heated it with intense fire to remove its poison before examining it closely. The needle was very thin, almost like a hair strand; fortunately, it was stuck in a piece of cloth. If it had fallen on the ground like that, Lu Chen worried he might not be able to retrieve it.
Additionally, Lu Chen discovered that it was incredibly hard; no matter how much force he applied, it wouldn't bend. He couldn't tell what material it was made from but found it remarkably extraordinary.
He tried to inject True Qi into it, but there was no response. After thinking for a moment, he used the Yin Yuan Pearl to infuse it with Yin Yuan.
Suddenly, the Silver Needle trembled a few times and instantly softened, allowing it to be wrapped around his finger.
So that's how it works. Lu Chen grasped the characteristic of the Silver Needle; it was incredibly hard under normal circumstances, able to pierce through fabric and even stone. However, when encountering Yin Yuan, it would soften and become malleable.

As for rituals, they involved controlling objects with the Yin Spirit. According to tradition, if the Yin Spirit reached a certain level of power, it could even perform a ritual to move a mountain from its original position. What kind of strength would that require?
The description of the initial Flesh Yin Spirit in the True Yang Scripture was quite similar to that in the Burial Master's Lesser Yin Classic. The early-stage Yin Spirit was ethereal, purely ghostly, afraid of wind, strong light, Taoist talismans that dispel spirits, and the knives from slaughterhouses. Butchers often slaughter animals; their knives carry a sense of malice. Some generals who have fought on battlefields for long periods accumulate malice from killing many people; this malice can harm the Yin Spirit.
Of course, when the Yin Spirit becomes powerful enough, it can counteract these threats.
The True Yang Scripture provided a thorough description of the Spirit Travel Realm, meticulously detailed and precise, which piqued Lu Chen's interest.
In this realm, one could wander freely during daylight and withstand ordinary wind and rain. However, if faced with strong winds or heavy rain, the Yin Spirit would still be dispersed. Intense Golden Sunlight could also harm the Yin Spirit.
After all, the Yin Spirit is an entity of darkness; Sun True Fire is far more ferocious than True Dragon fire and is considered one of the most yang entities in existence. The moment a Yin Spirit encounters Sun True Fire, it would immediately perish, reduced to ashes.
Yin Spirit and Flesh represent the duality of yin and yang, inherently opposing yet mutually dependent. The distinction lies in the fact that Yin Spirit is ethereal, a manifestation of spiritual power, while Flesh is tangible, something that can be touched and felt.
Both the True Yang Scripture and the Lesser Yin Classic provide theories on this matter. The reason people cannot perceive Yin Spirit is that it exists in a different space-time than humans. Space-time refers to both time and space; it is relative and interdependent, supported by a certain balance.
When Yin Spirit stands before a person yet remains unseen, it is due to this balance of space-time. If one could disrupt this balance, then they would be able to see Yin Spirit.
In its early stages, Yin Spirit may seem insubstantial, easily dispersed by a gust of wind. Yet many individuals are willing to invest their efforts into pursuing this path, risking their lives in the process.
In normal combat situations, Flesh can be wounded or killed by blades or fall into traps set by enemies. However, if one understands the transformations of Yin Spirit, they can evade weapons and remain unharmed. Those who cultivate Yin Spirit possess an inherent path within their hearts; this path is represented by the heart itself. If one's Mindset is as resilient as a great road, then they will not be swayed or defeated by any circumstance unless their Dao Heart is broken.
While Yin Spirit may be immune to ordinary weapons, it fears the roar of Qigong. The roar manifests as a three-dimensional wave that spreads outward, omnipresent; no matter how one tries to evade it, escape is impossible.
For instance, when Huang Jiao executes the final move of the Crazy Serpent Seven Star Classic, known as Tiger Roar in the Mountains, even branches are shattered. At that moment, Lu Chen happens to be nearby observing and thus gets injured by Huang Jiao. If Yin Spirit is harmed and not treated promptly, it may completely collapse or even vanish, leaving the individual with only their Flesh, rendering them an idiot.
The True Yang Scripture summarizes that all things in the world exist in mutual creation and destruction. The pinnacle of Qigong is the War God, representing the most powerful self, while the peak of Yin Spirit is the Yin Immortal, who can counteract the War God. This is akin to how ordinary Flesh cannot perceive ordinary Yin Spirit.
At the end of his handwritten notes, Lu Chen discovers a postscript signed “Pure Yang True Person.”
“Pure Yang True Person?” Could this be the owner of this book, the old man who placed his Flesh on the mountainside while wandering about?
Lu Chen does not know this person nor has he heard of this title; at that moment, he merely acted on impulse without considering the consequences.

Lu Chen had Old Mu close the door, then sat cross-legged on the bed as his Yin Spirit left his body and began to cultivate the True Yang Scripture.
Thanks to the Yin Yuan Pearl left by Li Shian, which continuously supplied Lu Chen with Yin Yuan, his progress was remarkably fast. By midnight, the Yin Spirit had shown substantial improvement.
Controlling the Yin Spirit became very agile and fluid. With the Pure Yang Classic energy gradually filling his body, Lu Chen felt himself becoming more attuned to the Pure Yang Classic. With this energy, he could truly merge into the white.
However, he still could not manifest; neither in daylight nor at night. To do so, he needed to refine the Yin Spirit to the "Dharmakaya" secret realm and use Dharmakaya for manifestation.
Next, Lu Chen began practicing rituals.
Rituals are a very mysterious spell; even the Yin Spirit can be involved in them. If one achieves the status of Yin Immortal, they can directly use rituals to summon the deceased from the time-space of Yin Spirits to that of living beings.
Rituals serve as a bridge connecting yin and yang, linking the present with the unknown beyond, using the power of spells to shatter the balance of time and space.
The War God can also shatter time and space, but War Gods are too distant; not a single one has been heard of in a thousand years. The War God represents great shattering, while rituals belong to the innate divine abilities of Yin Spirits and are associated with shattering.
In the realm of Spirit Travel, there is Pure Yang Classic energy, which also encompasses some aspects of ritual practices, making it quick to learn.
Following the incantation, in a short while, Lu Chen was able to perform rituals with some paper scraps and wood chips, gradually progressing to stones.
This process consumed a significant amount of Yin Yuan; without the support of the Yin Yuan Pearl, Lu Chen would likely have gone mad from mental disarray long ago.
Practicing with paper scraps and wood chips was just a starting point; it would be impossible to use these items against enemies later on. In an unexpected moment, Lu Chen thought of a Silver Needle. He then removed it from his finger, infused it with Yin Yuan to straighten it out, and attempted to control it with his Yin Spirit.

In silence, Silver Needle shot out suddenly, piercing through the earthen wall and creating a small hole. Although it was tiny, it was clear and bright.
Lu Chen smiled with satisfaction; it seemed he had made significant progress. However, he felt that the power of controlling the flying needle with Yin Spirit was far from its limit and that there was still much room for improvement. He needed to practice more in the future.
Wrapping Silver Needle around his right index finger, Lu Chen concluded his training. At this time, Old Mu had already fallen asleep against the door frame.
Seeing Old Mu asleep, Lu Chen had a sudden thought. He wondered what Old Mu was thinking. What is in a disciple's heart will appear in their dreams. This was an opportunity; why not use Yin Spirit to invade Old Mu's dreams and see what he desired most?
Lu Chen first returned Yin Spirit to its place, moved Old Mu to the bed, and then used Yin Spirit Disembodiment to enter Old Mu's dreamland.
