"Ten Heads in Advance"
The Imperial College of Bing Yong Further north, there is a grassland with knee-high green grass swaying in layers of waves with the wind. A senior student suggested a horse race, and the prize was set as the recently acquired famous painting that no one had yet seen, and a small cup of daughter red wine buried by Mr. Liu under the Biyong Mountain for thirty years.
Jia Xu agilely mounted the horse and looked down at Guo Jia eagerly, then helplessly reached out his hand to Guo Jia.
Guo Jia was held by Jia Xu in his arms, and as the colorful flags were thrown down, he whipped the horse and galloped away. The young man Wenhe on the horse also broke free from the constraints and held the reins in his hand, shouting loudly, " Guo Fengxiao! Don't hold me back!"
Guo Jia grabbed the saddle, bent over from the jolt, and leaned against Jia Xu's chest, smiling.
Guo Jia turned his head and looked at Jia Xu's bright eyes, shining like a colorful red agate. A faint smile appeared at the corner of his mouth, with a hint of an inevitable victory.
Guo Jia thought, this is the Jia Xu that he knew, a carefree and unrestrained young man, who would rather spend his days immersed in books and calculations.
In the last stretch of the road, Jia Xu slightly bent his waist, his chest tightly pressed against Guo Jia's back. The pounding of their hearts seemed deafening, as the whip rose and fell, and Guo Jia reached out to grab the red silk that belonged to the first place. The senior classmates who had been left behind by Jia Xu slowly caught up, and one of them smiled and said, "Wenhe truly lives up to his reputation as the most skilled equestrian youth at The Imperial College of Bing Yong." Then, turning to Guo Jia, he added, "You should learn from Wenhe."
Guo Jia obediently responded to the sound, but lazily leaned in Jia Xu's arms without moving.
In the evening, the herders hosted a feast, and everyone gathered around the bonfire to roast a whole lamb. The sound of the horse-head fiddle was melodious, Guo Jia sipped wine and sang the Chieh-leh song softly to the tune, "The sky is vast, the wilderness is boundless, the wind blows low, and we see cattle and sheep."
Chapter Eleven thunderstorm
On a rainy night, with thunder rolling, Guo Jia suddenly sat up from the bed, threw on a cloak, and rushed straight to Jia Xu's courtyard without even taking an umbrella.
Pushing the door open, he leaped straight onto Jia Xu's bed, pressing his whole body onto Jia Xu and rolling the blanket into the bed. He woke Jia Xu up and shouted loudly, "Wenhe, I'm scared!"
The door was still open when a thunderous roar erupted, lightning split the sky, and a torrential rain poured down. Jia Xu sat up, got out of bed, closed the door, and stood by the bed, looking at Guo Jia shivering under the blanket, and asked, "Is it because of this that you came in the middle of the night?"
Guo Jia curled up in the quilt and muttered, "If Wenhe doesn't sleep with me, I'll be eaten by the Thunder God!"
The pouring rain would definitely make Guo Jia sick if he went back now, so reluctantly, Guo Jia was allowed to stay and tugged at the quilt but couldn't move it.
Jia Xu slapped Guo Jia on the back and said, "How am I supposed to sleep like this!" Then Guo Jia let go, but Jia Xu was wrapped around him and couldn't be pushed away.
In the twelfth chapter, the girl
Jia Xu asked Guo Jia why he liked playing with girls so much.
Then Guo Jia pulled Jia Xu to the wall, stepped on the green stone bricks and pointed to the girl in the neighboring courtyard, saying, "Look, that's the daughter of The Li family - she started martial arts at six, wielded a spear at eight, and went to the battlefield at fifteen. That's the daughter of the Wang - her archery skills are no less than yours. That's the daughter of the Zhang family - she writes excellent poetry and calligraphy. And that one, she's from a branch of the Xun family - her debating skills are also top-notch."
Every time Guo Jia pointed to one, he could say whose daughter she was, what she was good at - playing the zither, composing poetry, painting, riding horses, handling spears - not inferior to men at all. A daughter from the neighboring courtyard noticed Guo Jia on the wall and called out to him to come and play.
Guo Jia shouted, "No, today I have to accompany Wenhe to study~" Then Girls threw two oranges, which were caught steadily by Guo Jia and Jia Xu.
Jumping down from the wall, Guo Jia tossed the oranges and asked Jia Xu, "Do you understand now?"
Girls who are not deliberately pruned can grow freely.
