The two of them stood up together.
Yulin finally let out a sigh of relief. She looked down at Junior Brother and noticed he was staring at her through the white cloth. Yulin felt a bit uncomfortable under his gaze. She touched her face and asked softly, "Is there something on my face?"
Junior Brother shook his head.
Yulin was even more puzzled. "Then why are you looking at me?"
Junior Brother didn’t answer. He just kept staring at Yulin, his eyes filled with heat and excitement. Yulin sensed that Junior Brother was looking at her but didn’t think anything was wrong. She assumed he was just daydreaming and didn’t realize how intense his gaze was.
"Junior Brother." She thought for a moment and asked, "About the fish... how do you plan to deal with it?"
"If you don’t return it, will they go to the Outer Sect Disciple courtyard to bully you again?"
Junior Brother still didn’t respond. He continued to stare at Yulin, unblinking.
"Junior Brother?" Yulin waved her fingers in front of his eyes. "What’s wrong with you?"
"...Nothing." Junior Brother finally snapped back to reality. He blinked, his long eyelashes casting shadows that obscured the emotions in his eyes.
"I’m just... a bit curious," he said slowly. "Curious about how that elder will deal with me."
Yulin frowned slightly. "Aren't you curious about how to return the fish? Instead, you're curious about how the elder will deal with you?"
"Yeah." Junior Brother replied softly.
"You really are..." Yulin sighed helplessly. "You have quite a big heart."
"Since you're so curious, let me help you out."
"What’s your name?"
Junior Brother did not answer immediately.
He raised his hand, covering his eyes with a white cloth, and continued to gaze at Yulin.
"You... don't remember me?"
His voice was soft, almost inaudible.
Yulin didn't catch what he said and asked curiously, "What did you say?"
Junior Brother shook his head, "It's nothing."
"My name is Yin Yuchen."
"Yin Yuchen..."
Yulin silently repeated the name in her mind and found it quite pleasant to hear.
She nodded, "Okay, I'll remember that."
"Junior Brother, you should go back first."
"I'll figure this out."
Yin Yuchen did not move.
He continued to stare at Yulin, unblinking.
"...What's wrong?"
Yulin asked curiously, "Do you have something else to say?"
Yin Yuchen blinked gently.
His eyelashes were thick and long, like two small brushes, dark and beautiful.
"I'm fine."
He lowered his eyes and softly said, "I just feel... Senior Sister, you seem very familiar."
Yulin was taken aback for a moment before breaking into a smile.
"You little rascal."
She raised her hand and patted Yin Yuchen's shoulder, laughing as she said, "What nonsense are you thinking about?"
"You think I seem familiar? I think you seem familiar too."
"I slept for a year, and the first thing I saw when I woke up was you."
"Isn't that fate?"
Yin Yuchen did not respond. He quietly watched Yulin through the white cloth.
"Senior Sister," he said softly, "don't you really... feel that I'm familiar?"
Yulin did not understand his meaning. She thought Yin Yuchen was quite strange.
"I think you seem familiar," she said seriously, "and I also think you're very bold."
"You just joined not long ago, and you dare to steal the Elder's fish."
"Do you know what kind of crime that is?"
Yin Yuchen silently looked at her without speaking.
"Alas." Yulin sighed helplessly, "Fortunately, you're lucky to have met me."
"Don't worry, I'll take care of this matter." After saying this, she raised her hand and patted Yin Yuchen's shoulder. "Alright, you should hurry back now."
Yin Yuchen did not move. He still stood in place, quietly looking at Yulin through the white cloth.
"...What's wrong?" Yulin asked curiously. "Why aren't you going back?"
Yin Yuchen opened his mouth but hesitated to speak.
"...Forget it." Yulin said helplessly, "If you don't want to go back, that's fine."
"Anyway, I'll be caught back soon."
