When Siren awoke, the bathroom was empty, leaving him alone. His brows furrowed slightly, and the absence of Gu Yan made him feel a bit irritated. However, when footsteps approached, the brutal emotions on his face vanished without a trace, replaced by a gentle smile.
The calm footsteps came closer from the stairs, gradually moving toward the bedroom before stopping at the door. With a click, the sound of the first lock being opened echoed, and the metal door creaked as it opened. The person paused at the entrance for a moment, fiddling with something before finally pushing open the black lacquered wooden door. Such a complicated process did not resemble opening a bedroom door but rather seemed like unlocking a cage that held a prisoner. Siren couldn't help but smile with intrigue.
As the bedroom door slowly opened, Gu Yan's handsome face appeared. He had already removed his water-soaked bathrobe and changed into a white shirt and black trousers. Without wearing a suit jacket, his outfit had a slightly casual feel. The corners of his mouth lifted slightly in a relaxed smile, seemingly in good spirits, especially upon seeing that Siren had awakened.
Gu Yan walked straight to the bathroom, holding a metal tray filled with various meats, some still dripping with blood, clearly uncooked and unprocessed. He approached the edge of the bathtub, leaning against the wall as he offered the tray to Siren, indicating that he could enjoy it.
In an environment where only the strong survive in the deep sea, all creatures are forced to arm themselves through various means and obtain food by any means necessary. Therefore, Gu Yan would never consider Siren to be a vegetarian. Thus, all the food he prepared was raw meat.
Siren examined the tray before him and felt as if he were being raised like livestock; however, he did not show any emotion outwardly. Instead, he narrowed his elongated eyes into a harmless smile and picked up a piece of meat with his fingers, bringing it to his lips.
His sharp teeth glinted coldly as his pale rose-colored lips parted and swiftly bit through the soft raw meat. Siren's seaweed-like golden hair cascaded down his back, complementing his slender figure. His exquisite face bore an innocent look, yet blood lingered at the corners of his mouth, making him appear both enchanting and beautiful.
Although he was eating, Siren's gaze did not linger on the food; his wet eyes were fixed intently on Gu Yan. Seemingly aware of the blood staining his lips, Siren brought his bloodied index finger close to his mouth and gently wiped it off. However, since his finger was already stained with blood, it only made the corners of his lips appear even redder. So instead, Siren extended his tongue to lick at the corner of his mouth but did not rush to retract it; he watched Gu Yan with an alluring gaze as he slipped his finger into his mouth.
Gu Yan thought that this was indeed a Siren, just as rumored—capable of devouring souls. But this Siren did not require any forceful coercion; just a single glance would make one willingly offer up their entire soul as a sacrifice.
He recalled descriptions of Sirens from ancient texts he had read: their bodies were filled with seductive allure while their hearts were cold, cruel, and filled with despair.
Siren slowly withdrew his finger from his mouth, slender joints glistening with strands of sticky saliva. Desire and innocence intertwined perfectly.
Gu Yan felt as if those azure eyes would swallow him whole; he stared blankly at Siren and slowly extended his finger toward Siren's lips, touching them lightly with some saliva from his tongue. Occasionally, his finger would slip into the warm edge of Siren's mouth, but this did not deter Gu Yan from caressing him.
Gu Yan became a defector; he no longer believed in God and chose to follow the devil.
In the dead of night, silence enveloped the bedroom; even a pin drop could be heard amidst long breaths of sleep. The bathroom remained dark without lights on; only faint moonlight filtered through a small window to illuminate it. The pale light spilled onto Siren's blue fish tail, revealing what seemed like a slight indentation along its midsection—a straight line extending from just below the cloaca all the way to the end of the fin.
That line appeared as if it would split the tail in two; although still shallowly indented, it seemed to foreshadow an eventual complete division into two independent legs. The shimmering light surrounded Siren, creating an atmosphere of sanctity.
Siren's body was undergoing a strange transformation.
When the Little Mermaid from the fairy tale grew legs and came to land, her sole purpose was to pursue her prince. Similarly, the Azure Tail Siren left the vast ocean in search of love. The romance of the Siren is unwavering until death, deeply etched in their very being, never fading from ancient times to the present.
"Fish" and "water," as symbols associated with sensuality, are imprinted in the secular concept of the Siren, yet few remember the pure side of the Siren.
In the pitch-black night, this fantastical transformation quietly occurs, until the arrival of dawn. The Siren closes her eyes, and all traces instantly vanish.
The blue fish tail remains an artistic masterpiece, adorned like a flawless gem.
Gu Yan is completely unaware of this. There are many things Gu Yan cannot know, such as the fact that when he captured the Siren behind the rocks on the beach, she silently murmured to herself, "Finally, I've caught you."
Due to the changes occurring within the Siren, a violent invasion similar to that of the first night did not happen. In the morning, Gu Yan wakes up feeling refreshed; his recent high-quality deep sleep has left him in great spirits.
After routinely feeding the Siren, Gu Yan carelessly sets aside the metal tray. He gazes at the Siren, resting his chin on his hand as if pondering something, but soon breaks into a gentle smile. He then bends down and lifts her horizontally in the same manner he had when he first brought her back.
The Siren's eyes flash with confusion as she looks at Gu Yan questioningly.
Gu Yan smiles and softly says, "I'm taking you somewhere."
Leaving the bathroom, Gu Yan carries the Siren to the staircase. They ascend to the third floor of the villa. As the Siren has grown larger, Gu Yan noticeably feels her weight more than before, but it is still manageable.
The third floor of the villa is designed as a leisure area. As they step out from the staircase, they enter a small greenhouse filled with various flowers. Due to strong winds by the seaside, the garden is covered with glass from the greenhouse. Inside are temperature control devices and tables and chairs for sitting or lounging.
Following a path through the greenhouse and passing through transparent glass doors leads them to a massive swimming pool. The circulating water purification system keeps the pool's water exceptionally clear, allowing easy visibility of its blue tiled bottom.
Gu Yan squats down and places the Siren into the pool. The spacious water excites her; as soon as she enters, she eagerly swishes her crimson tail.
Gu Yan reaches out to ruffle her hair and says, "Wait for me; I’ll go change clothes."
The Siren looks at Gu Yan's shirt and trousers and nods obediently.
Once Gu Yan's figure disappears at the staircase, the Siren retracts her gaze.
Meanwhile, with her keen eyesight, she catches sight of a red dot hidden among the branches and leaves in the greenhouse. The placement of this dot is quite clever; it’s evident that it has been carefully designed. If not for her innate sensitivity to surveillance, this faint red dot would never have been discovered.
The Siren presses her lips together dangerously as she deduces that it must be a camera.
Things seem to be getting more interesting.
The Siren extends her delicate white hand and absentmindedly combs through her dazzling golden hair while lowering her gaze to appear demure.
On the second floor of the villa, Gu Yan sits in front of an electronic screen watching the seemingly unremarkable actions of the Siren. He silently rubs his thumb over a decorative metal ring on his finger; at its tail end is a carving of a fish tail that glimmers with a cold light.
"Perhaps."
"I was overthinking."
