"Shut up!"
A loud shout startled the Heroic Youth, who was in the middle of morally condemning Ye Mingshang. Once he regained his composure, anger surged within him, and he strode over.
Ye Mingshang was also breathing heavily, feeling dizzy and still haunted by that voice.
"Impossible, impossible! Who was that voice?!"
"To hell with you!"
While Ye Mingshang was still shaken by the voice echoing in his mind, he suddenly felt darkness envelop him and fainted.
Beside him, Heroic Youth wiped the butt of his gun.
"Damn it, talking nonsense like that, thinking he can scare me. He's nothing but a fool."
"Captain," a police officer approached.
"Take him away."
In the hotel, Li Mengyu, who was still fast asleep, suddenly jolted awake from her dreams.
Sweat dripped from her forehead, and her mind was unsettled.
"Ying Shang..."
When Ye Mingshang woke up, he found himself in an interrogation room at the police station.
Just waking up, his mind was still a bit hazy, and he couldn't grasp the situation.
He glanced around and noticed eight large characters on the wall not far in front of him.
"Confess for leniency, resist for severity."
"How about it? Do you recognize these words?"
A somewhat familiar voice rang out; Heroic Youth was standing right in front of him.
However, he wasn't wearing a leather jacket this time but a police uniform. He looked quite robust; perhaps the clothes were a bit small, as they fit tightly, making his muscles quite prominent.
"Who are you?" Ye Mingshang asked.
"Who am I? That question really hurts my feelings. After all, you are the one I personally brought back," Heroic Youth chuckled lightly and replied.
"You caught me?" Ye Mingshang asked in confusion.
The other party didn't respond but winked at him.
It was then that Ye Mingshang realized he was sitting on an iron chair with his hands cuffed.
"On what grounds do you have to arrest me?" Ye Mingshang frowned.
"Hey, hey, hey, can you please get your facts straight? Right now, it is I who am interrogating you!" The captain stepped forward, leaning down and speaking each word clearly.
"Now tell me everything you know, all of it."
"What are you talking about? I don't know what you're saying," Ye Mingshang frowned.
"Don't play games with me. I've seen plenty of people like you; stop pretending to be innocent. You have killed someone, and I saw it with my own eyes."
"Heh, I've killed quite a few people, but I don't think you've ever witnessed any of them," Ye Mingshang scoffed.
"Oh! Looks like there's an unexpected gain here. Don't worry, I have it all recorded. Everything you say will be documented without missing a word. Guess how many years you could get sentenced?" Heroic Youth smiled and paced back and forth.
"You don't need to guess. Just based on your evil practices, I could take care of you right here. Of course, I won't do that; I'm not like you."
While he was talking to himself, Ye Mingshang furrowed his brows, pondering the memories before he fainted.
Scenes from before flashed before him like movie clips.
Including that strange voice.
Where did that voice come from? Who was its owner? How did it affect him?
This was something that concerned him greatly.
"Bang!"
Suddenly, the captain slammed his hand on the table.
"Hey! Look over here!"
"You are really loud," Ye Mingshang frowned.
"Huh? Don't you know your situation? This is the police station, and you're handcuffed here. Do you really think you can escape? Just tell me everything you know, and don't lie. I already know everything," the captain scoffed.
"If you already know everything, why are you asking me?"
"Hmph! You have a tough mouth. If you won't talk, that's fine. Once the paperwork comes through, I'll personally send you to hell."
Ye Mingshang ignored him and glanced at the handcuffs on his wrists, trying to move slightly.
"Heh, do you really think you can escape?" The captain laughed disdainfully.
Escape?
Heh, how could he possibly...
What!
Ye Mingshang was startled; he realized he couldn't break free at all. It wasn't that the handcuffs were too strong, but rather that he couldn't muster much strength.
Trying to channel his energy felt like being stuck in a quagmire, unable to move an inch.
"Hahaha! Don't act tough. We definitely have ways to deal with you evil cultivators. You won't be able to use your powers for three days."
Seeing Ye Mingshang like this, the captain laughed heartily, feeling quite pleased with himself.
"Alright, I have other matters to attend to. You just stay here obediently and wait for your impending doom," he said as he walked out the door.
"Captain, did he confess?" a police officer asked.
"It doesn't matter whether he confesses or not; we all saw him kill that fat guy with our own eyes. However, we can't let him have it too easy. Put him in the same cell as Big Head and take good care of him."
The captain patted the officer's shoulder, emphasizing the last part.
"I understand."
Before long, two police officers came in.
"Let's go; you need to stay in the detention room for now."
Ye Mingshang did not resist. His powers had not yet recovered, and resisting would not be wise.
Moreover, he was curious to see the amusing expressions on their faces when the higher-ups learned what kind of person they had captured.
"Alright, lead the way," Ye Mingshang said calmly.
The two officers were somewhat surprised by his cooperation, but it was better this way. Following along obediently would save them some effort; they didn't like dragging people around.
"Alright, you stay here for the next couple of days. Be honest and don't cause any trouble," the officer instructed as he opened the door.
Although it was a bit dark inside, Ye Mingshang glanced around and noticed there was more than one person inside, each looking far from friendly.
"It seems they want to give me a warning. I didn't expect things to be this grim in this day and age."
"Stop dawdling and get in," the officer said impatiently.
As soon as he stepped inside, the people in the room showed their hostility but remained huddled in the corners, not approaching him.
However, once the officer left and the sound of the door closing echoed, they all grinned menacingly and approached him with a swagger.
Before they could make a move, Ye Mingshang scanned the room and realized that the beds were all occupied.
No, rather than saying they were all occupied, there was only one bed available.
Lying on it was a tall man with a fierce appearance.
Ye Mingshang's instincts told him that this man was significantly stronger than the others.
Pushing past the others, Ye Mingshang walked over to the large man lying on the bed and coldly said, "You, get up." (To be continued.)
